As noted, former TNA World Champion and current Bellator MMA Heavyweight contender Bobby Lashley recently expressed interest in facing-off with Brock Lesnar either inside a cage or a ring.
Lashley originally spoke of his interest in a showdown with Lesnar while appearing on WWE Hall Of Famer Jim Ross’ weekly “Ross Report” podcast at PodcastOne.com. During a new interview with TMZ Sports (see above), the veteran MMA heavyweight Lashley again spoke of the topic.
Bobby Lashley improved to an 8-0 winning streak in his last 8 fights by submitting Josh Appelt (fight video here) in a dominant second round victory by rear-naked choke in the co-main event of this past weekend’s Bellator 162 event in Memphis, TN.
In addition to the comments made by the active Bellator MMA fighter and TNA pro wrestler, Lashley told the aforementioned Jim Ross the following about wanting either an MMA or pro wrestling showdown with “The Beast Incarnate” at some point in the future.
“I’ve always been compared to Brock, and they say ‘Are you and Brock gonna fight? Are you and Brock gonna wrestle? I don’t know if the fighting is still an opportunity with me being in Bellator and him kind of being with the UFC; or I don’t know what the situation is right now. So I don’t know if the fight thing is possible, but to see me as Brock’s destroying everyone and save the day, or vice versa, whatever the case is, have us stand face to face? I think the crowd would go insane. And there’s a tremendous amount of money in it. If it were to happen, then I’m open for it.”
