It seems like Conor McGregor’s return to action is a revolving door of speculation, but it remains one of the biggest stories in combat sports because “Notorious” is that popular.

McGregor, who hasn’t competed since breaking his leg against Dustin Poirier back in July 2021, is hoping to make his return early next year. He’s already back in the United States Anti-Doping Agency (USADA) testing pool and aiming to make his long-awaited return at UFC 300, but nobody knows for sure. Until a contract is signed and UFC president Dana White makes one of his special announcements on social media fight fans will have to wait and see.

Earlier this week, McGregor teased fight fans will some good old fashioned sparring footage. The former UFC double champion would never put himself in a scenario to lose in training so it’s not like McGregor was matched up against a killer, but it’s still cool to see the Irishman back to his old ways.

Not only did McGregor slap on the headgear and gloves for some calculated exchanges, but he connected with one of his patented left hooks that sent his sparring partner to the canvas. The other fighter quickly returned to his feet and kept sparring.

McGregor, who turned 35 this past July, has a lot to prove in his return to the Octagon. Not only is he quickly leaving his physical prime, but “Notorious” has so much money to his name tat it almost doesn’t make sense for him to keep fighting. That has brought his determination and drive into question as he tries to come back after missing nearly three years of action.
