“A potential fight of the night has been verbally agreed to as Rick ‘The Horror’ Story will face Martin ‘The Hitman’ Kampmann at UFC 139,” said UFC President Dana White.

White made that announcement on Wednesday at UFC.com pitting UFC welterweights Martin ‘Hitman’ Kampmann (17-5) and Rick ‘Horror’ Story (13-4) for November’s event.

UFC 139: Velasquez vs. Dos Santos is expected to take place on November 19 at the HP Pavilion in San Jose, California. The event will be headlined by a UFC heavyweight title bout between champ Cain Velasquez versus top contender, Junior dos Santos.

Kampann is coming off of the first back-to-back losses of his career, after losing a decision to Diego Sanchez at UFC on Versus 3, and a split decision to Jake Shields at UFC 121. The bout with Sanchez earned both fighters $160,000 for “Fight of the Night” as the UFC Pres was so impressed with the bout. Previous to those losses, ‘Hitman’ had won two straight with a decision victory against Paulo Thiago at UFC 115, and a first round submission win over Jacob Volkmann at UFC 108.

Story had a six fight win streak stopped in June, losing a unanimous decision to last second replacement Charlie Brenneman at the UFC on Versus 4 event. ‘Horror’ had been scheduled to face Nate Marquardt, but ‘The Great’ was pulled on weigh-in day and was replaced by Brenneman, who came in as a heavy underdog. Story’s last win was in May, a decision victory over former contender Thiago Alves at UFC 130.
