The appeal for the upcoming welterweight clash between Jorge Masvidal and Nate Diaz at UFC 244 this November is obvious. Masvidal and Diaz are two of the most entertaining fighters in the game today and proven veterans capable of sensational production inside of the cage.
That outlook along should be enough for the casual fight fans to pay out of pocket to see Masvidal and Diaz duke it out from inside Madison Square Garden in New York City. But just in case the 170-pound main event isn’t quite enough UFC is rolling out a “Baddest Motherf—ker” belt to award to the winner.
While the new ‘BMF’ belt isn’t going to sell everybody, it should help create a little extra pizzazz around a welterweight matchup that quickly came about. Fight fans have Diaz, and a very game Masvidal, to thank for that.
So when exactly will fight fans get to see this new UFC belt? While UFC president Dana White has revealed on multiple occasions that the “BMF” title will be a one-time deal, the more-than-excited promoter is hoping to unveil the new belt during UFC 244’s fight week.

“It will be ready the week of the fight,” White said in a recent Q&A session (shown above). “I will be bringing the belt to New York, and I will present it to the world, the week of the event, here in New York City.”
Given the fact that this will be a one-time deal with no direct ties to any specific division, the “BMF” title could literally look like anything. It’s likely that UFC tones it down a bit on the design of the title as to not put itself in the same combat stratosphere as World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE), but fans should expect a fairly creative design come fight week.
While White is adamant that the “BMF” title will only be on the line at UFC 244 and at no other events moving forward, that may very well change after Nov. 2. If ticket sales go wild and PPV buys soar off the charts the promotion may equate that to their new belt. And whether it is Masvidal or Diaz who escapes UFC 244 with the “BMF” crown there will be an eager Conor McGregor waiting for his shot to hoist yet another UFC title.
