With Late Opponent Change, GSP Says Neither He Nor Condit Hold The Advantage

GSP focused on Condit

UFC welterweight champ Georges St-Pierre (22-2) had been scheduled to face Nick Diaz on October 29 in the headliner of UFC 137, but will now face Carlos Condit at the Las Vegas Event.

St-Pierre says that neither he nor Condit hold the advantage over the other as they both had opponent changes. GSP also notes that Lorenzo Fertitta told him they made the switch due to Diaz failure to show up for several press conferences.

“‘If he don’t show up for the presser, we don’t want to take a chance he won’t show up for the fight.’ I don’t want to train eight-weeks for a fight and at the end not fighting, and not being paid because a guy didn’t show up.”
