It Runs in the Family! Aline Pereira Scores Second-Straight KO - Karate Combat 52 Highlights

Aline Pereira’s patented left hook led her to a second-straight win under the Karate Combat banner on Friday night.

Returning to The Pit in Miami, Pereira, the sister of UFC light heavyweight champion Alex Pereira delivered another lights-out performance against short-notice opponent Amanda Torres in the KC52 co-main event.

While the opening round was fairly competitive with Torres holding her own against the bigger and more experienced Pereira, things took a quick turn in the second round when ‘Lady Chama’ unleashed a picture-perfect left hook that sent Torres crashing to the mat. Pereira unleashed some ground-and-pound strikes which encouraged the referee to step in and call for the stoppage.

Official Result: Aline Pereira def. Amanda Torres via TKO.

The stoppage was met with some scrutiny from the broadcast team as Torres appeared to be intelligently defending herself, but it was clear that Pereira was in complete control and likely would have caused even more damage had the fight been allowed to continue.

Pereira is now 2-0 in Karate Combat with both victories coming by way of knockout.

Alex Pereira’s Sister Hopes For Full-Time Fighting Career To Bring End To Amazon Delivery Job

Alex Pereira’s sister has to juggle two careers as she works to make ends meet while chasing her dream in combat sports.

Much like her brother, “Poatan,” Aline carved out a career in kickboxing before making the jump to MMA, though she remains a relative newcomer to the sport. Following her debut loss, she has been working to find her footing, posting a 1-2 record under the LFA banner between 2022 and 2023.

Pereira is now signed with Karate Combat, where she made an explosive promotional debut in October 2024, securing a first-round left hook knockout over Dee Begley that echoed her brother’s iconic finish.

While the pay in Karate Combat provides a considerable financial boost compared to her kickboxing and MMA days, the 34-year-old Brazilian acknowledges that she must grind through a part-time job when she’s not fighting, putting in long hours to supplement her income.

During a recent conversation with MMA Fighting, Pereira opened up about balancing her fight career with her work as an Amazon delivery driver. When she’s not in fight camp, she takes on late-night shifts to make ends meet, all while working toward building a career that will provide a comfortable life for her family in the United States.

She explained that the reason for her early start is to beat the traffic, allowing her the freedom to dedicate the rest of her day to training.

“I do deliveries for Amazon, and we do what we have to do,” Pereira said. “This routine is very tiresome because we still have to accommodate the training hours and the job, but it all works out in the end… It’s not [not an] easy [job]. We do deliveries for four and a half hours. But it’s great to be here. The United States is very good for me and my son, too.”

Pereira is set to make her sophomore appearance in the Karate Combat Pit this Friday in Miami, Florida, where she’ll face a short-notice opponent in Amanda Torres for a 130-pound catchweight bout.

Her brother, meanwhile, was not too pleased at the reporter whom Aline made mention of her job to. The UFC champion took aim at MMA Fighting’s Guilherme Cruz in a social media post.

Aline Pereira’s upcoming fight at Karate Combat 50 has hit a snag due to weight issues with her opponent, Dee Begley. Initially contracted to fight at 125 pounds, Begley requested a catchweight of 130 pounds earlier this week.

However, she failed to make even this higher weight limit, coming in at 134 pounds – a full 3.6 pounds over the newly agreed catchweight. This significant miss has put the fight in jeopardy, with negotiations now underway to salvage the bout. As of now, it’s unclear whether the fight will proceed as planned or if further adjustments will be necessary to ensure it takes place. It has been revealed by Karate Combat president Asim Zaidi in a conversation with Low Kick MMA.

Aline Pereira and Dee Begley were set to face off in a matchup at Karate Combat 50 this Friday live from Salt Lake City, which broadcasts on UFC Fight Pass.

Aline Pereira vs. Dee Begley

Brazil’s Aline Pereira, the younger sister of UFC champion Alex Pereira, brings an impressive kickboxing background to the fight in Karate Combat. She’s a former GLORY Kickboxing competitor with a 6-2 professional record and even challenged for their super bantamweight title. After her kickboxing career, Aline tried her hand at MMA, competing in LFA with mixed results, going 1-2 in her first three bouts.

Dee Begley, from Ireland, trains at the famous SBG Ireland gym under John Kavanagh, alongside notable fighters such as Conor McGregor and others. She comes into this fight with a 4-6 record in MMA and recently made her boxing debut, losing by unanimous decision.
