Next up on the UFC 257 main card is a middleweight bout between Andrew Sanchez and Makhmud Muradov.

Round 1: Sanchez goes for a body kick but it’s caught by Muradov. Muradov lands a nice leg kick and follows it up with a front kick to the body. A lot of feints from Sanchez but he is yet to land anything as Muradov lands a leg kick. Muradov blocks a high kick before stuffing a takedown attempt from Sanchez. Muradov lands another big leg kick before catching Sanchez with a right hand. Both fighters are swinging a bit more as Muradov lands another leg kick. He momentarily clinches up with Sanchez before the fight returns to striking. Sanchez lands a right although it’s partially blocked. Sanchez catches Muradov with a right as Muradov attempts another leg kick. Muradov attempts a flying knee but it just misses. Muradov attempts a takedown but it’s defended as the round comes to an end.

Round 2: Sanchez clinches up Muradov but the latter separates with a head kick that is blocked. The fight is momentarily stopped due to a groin strike on Muradov. The fight resumes. After a striking exchange, Sanchez goes for a takedown. Muradov lands some elbows in response and defends the takedown but is clinched up against the fence. They eventually separate. Both fighters are now fighting in the pocket a lot more — especially Sanchez who seems to be showing a lot more confidence. Muradov lands a nice jab. He follows it with a big left and right hook. Sanchez just about dodges a huge head kick. Muradov lands a nice right and ends the round strong.

Round 3: Muradov lands a right and follows it up with another. Sanchez’s nose is starting to bleed now. Muradov lands another right partially and follows it up with an uppercut. He connects to the body now. Sanchez starts to find some success but Muradov lands a huge right that wobbles Sanchez. He goes for the kill as he unloads on Sanchez before the referee calls an end to the fight!

The upcoming UFC Vancouver card on September 14 has been dealt its first blow.

According to MMA Junkie, middleweight contender David Branch will not be competing on the card. The former World Series of Fighting two-weight champion was scheduled to take on Andrew Sanchez. However, he has been forced to pull out for undisclosed reasons.

With the UFC yet to make an official announcement about the pullout, it is not known if Sanchez will get a replacement at this point. Luckily, there is more than a month to find one.

Branch is currently on a two-fight losing streak, having been finished by Jared Cannonier and most recently, Jack Hermansson. Sanchez, on the other hand, is on a two-fight winning streak with wins over Markus Perez and Marc-Andre Barriault.

UFC Vancouver will be headlined by a fan-friendly lightweight encounter between Donald Cerrone and Justin Gaethje. The full card can be viewed below:

There have been several reported fight announcements today (Thurs. June 13, 2019).

First, former World Series Of Fighting (WSOF) champion David Branch is scheduled to make his return to the Octagon. MMA Junkie confirmed that Branch will be facing Andrew Sanchez on the card. Branch is currently on a two-fight losing streak, having been finished by both Jared Cannonier and Jack Hermansson is his last two outings.

Sanchez is the winner of The Ultimate Fighter Season 23 (TUF 23), and is on a two-fight win streak. Now, the middleweight is hoping to pick up a big win over a former WSOF champion. They’ll meet at UFC on ESPN+ 16 in Vancouver, British Columbia on September 14. Also on that card will be a middleweight bout between Uriah Hall and Antonio Carlos Junior.

The bout was initially reported by Combate. Hall hasn’t competed since a knockout win over Bevon Lewis at UFC 232 in December. Now, he’ll face Carlos Junior, who had a five-fight win streak snapped by Ian Heinisch in May.

We also have some good news for the UFC men’s flyweight division. The Las Vegas-based promotion has booked a 125-pound meeting between Matt Schnell and Jordan Espinosa at UFC on ESPN 5 on August 3. The location for the event has yet to be determined. And finally, a women’s flyweight bout has been added to the UFC 241 pay-per-view (PPV) card.

Poliana Botelho will be taking on Maryna Moroz at the August 17 PPV from the Honda Center in Anaheim, California. MMA Fighting confirmed the booking, which was initially reported by Combate.
