While surfing the web for a new lovemaking mask, I stumbled across MMAOutlet.com, and it’s quickly become my go-to spot for MMA gear online. Now, MMAOutlet wants to give two $50 store credits to the Potato Nation, which you can use on their wide selection of MMA shorts, MMA gloves, Jiu Jitsu gis, and loud-ass t-shirts. But as usual, you’ll have to burn some calories to win a prize. So how’s about a little fight-picking action, for old time’s sake?

This Saturday night, the TUF 13 Finale will go down on Spike TV, headlined by Clay Guida vs. Anthony Pettis, and Tony Ferguson vs. Ramsey Nijem. If you want a shot at a $50 credit from MMAOutlet, here’s what you need to do…

Post your predictions for these two fights in the comments section below, including the winner’s name, the method of victory, and the time/round of stoppage (if any). Basically, your entry should look like this:

Clay Guida def. Anthony Pettis via submission, 3:30 of round 2
Ramsey Nijem def. Tony Ferguson via unanimous decision (30-27, 30-27, 29-28)

Yes, you should include the judges’ scores if you think a fight will end in a decision; we may need them for a tie-breaker. The most accurate prediction gets the $50 store credit. Entries must be in by this Saturday at noon ET, and we’ll announce the winner by Monday — and next week we’ll give away the other $50 credit with a pick-off for UFC 131. Any questions, let us know. Reminder: Watch the 2010/2011 United Glory Tournament Finals Live On YouTube Saturday Afternoon

Just a friendly reminder that Golden Glory is hosting the last round of its 2010/2011 United Glory tournament Saturday afternoon in Moscow, so if you’re looking for something to do to kill some time before UFC 130, you can check out the pay-per-view on YouTube for $7.95 USD.

The stream for the last event didn’t work due to technical difficulties, so United Glory’s partners at Fight Game TV decided to make this event event a pay-per-view to ensure they had the resources available to make sure the stream goes off without a hitch. This will be the first MMA event streamed on YouTube. Hopefully a precedent is set by the video sharing site with this show that will see fans have better access to live streams moving forward.

Worth the price of the stream will be the welterweight clash between Golden Glory teammates Tommy Depret and Siyar Bahadurzada. Take note AKA and Team Jackson; that’s how fighters are supposed to roll.

Also on the card will be a heavyweight kickboxing superfight between Mighty Mo and Sergei Kharitonov and a kickboxing tournament final between Brice Guidon and Gökhan Saki. UG shows never disappoint, and this one will be no exception.

Trash Talkin’ Kids T-Shirt Design Contest: And the Winners Are…

After two days of voting for our Trash Talkin’ Kids t-shirt design finalists, the Potato Nation has made it clear that their two favorites are Chris C.’s “Lost Kos” shirt — which ended up way ahead of the pack with 23.4% of the vote — and Michael P’s “Wake Up Chuck!”, which collected 16.5% of the vote. Grease St. Pierre (15.7%) and Hematoma Hominick (15.2%) were close behind, if that makes you feel any better. The full results can be seen in handy bar graph form here.

Announcing the Trash Talkin’ Kids T-Shirt Design Contest!

One of my favorite booths at the UFC Fan Expo in Toronto was Trash Talkin’ Kids, a brand-new t-shirt line that combines MMA fighters with one of the most horrible fads from the 1980s. As a dude who appreciates lowbrow humor more than skulls and wings, these shirts spoke to me.

TTK was cool enough to hook us up with a couple shirts for the Potato Nation. It’s been a long time since we’ve done a t-shirt design contest, so we thought we’d give it another shot. Your challenge is this: Create a t-shirt design in the style of Trash Talkin’ Kids. (Basically, a well-known MMA fighter, a weird Garbage Pail-esque pun using their name, and a gruesome visual representation of that pun.) Details continue after the jump…

We got word this week from Alistair Overeem’s management that “The Demolition Man” will be taking some time away from his busy training schedule preparing for his first round Strikeforce Heavyweight Grand Prix fight with Fabricio Werdum in July to answer our most pressing questions. We figured that, rather than ask the Team Golden Glory standout what we want to hear answered, we figured we would give The Potato Nation the opportunity to come up with the best questions they can for Overeem.

The only rules are simple: no played out horsemeat jokes or disrespectful questions.
