Press Release – (October 15th.12) BAMMA is proud to announce a Light Heavyweight Mixed Martial Arts bout to the BAMMA 11 card, as Anth Taylor clashes with Max Nunes at Birmingham’s National Indoor Arena on 1st December.

Anth Taylor stands undefeated with a record of 5-0-0, in which none of his fights have gone the distance and he has scored four of his wins in the first round. Taylor’s last outing saw him triumph over Mark Godbeer via TKO, just 1 minute and 22 seconds into round 2. Three of Taylor’s wins have come by TKO, two by KO & one by submission.

Undefeated Max ‘Power’ Nunes has clocked up an impressive record of 8-0-0 over the past two years. The London based Swede has stopped all of his opponents in the 1st round, with the exception of the hitherto undefeated Iain Martell, whom he finished in round 2. With successes via TKO and submission, Nunes’ last fight saw him submit the doubly experienced Tony Moran at BAMMA 10. Nunes fights out of Nick Osipczak’s New Wave Academy and holds the Fury MMA Light Heavyweight title.

Max ‘Power’ Nunes said:

“I am really looking forward to fighting on BAMMA again. This will be my second appearance and I am hoping to put on a good show for all the UK MMA fans.”

BAMMA’s Head of Talent Relations, Jude Samuel, said:

“Taylor vs. Nunes is going to be a blistering battle as both guys are heavy hitters who have so far proved invincible. Nunes has a real buzz around him right now; while Taylor is a fan favourite in the North East. I’ve had my eye on Anth for a while and he was due to fight Opie at BAMMA 9, but the fight fell through when Opie got injured. I’m really excited about this fight and it’s certainly one the fans will be looking forward to. Taylor and Nunes represent what makes the Light Heavyweight division so exciting at its best: These two inextinguishable athletes bring all the Herculean Knock Out power of the Heavyweights, but at a faster and explosive pace.”

(October 15th.12) BAMMA is proud to announce a Bantamweight Mixed Martial Arts bout to the BAMMA 11 card at Birmingham’s National Indoor Arena on 1st December, as Nathan Greyson and Bryan Creighton go to battle.

Nathan Greyson fights out of Team Titan with a 3-1-0 professional record and 5 straight wins at Semi Pro. This explosive, relentlessly aggressive up comer has never yet been the distance and has scored all his victories via TKO. The longest it’s taken the 22 year old to dominate an opponent at professional level has been 2 minutes 30 seconds.

British Army Fusilier, Bryan Creighton, moved over to MMA from a successful Thai-boxing career in which he won the following championships:

2005 WAKO Kickboxing and Thai boxing Featherweight
2005 WMF World Championships Bangkok Bronze Featherweight
2006 ISKA British Lightweight Thai boxing
2008 IKF Northwest Lightweight Thai boxing
2008 IKF British Lightweight Thai boxing
2010 Golden Belt Association – Golden Belt Hardcore World Featherweight

Debuting in Professional MMA on short notice, Creighton won his first fight on majority decision in July. A fierce combatant that puts it all on the line, Creighton makes a blistering match for Greyson.

Creighton said:

“After dominating the world of Thai boxing I have transferred my skills from Thai boxing and boxing over to the world of Mixed Martial Arts. I am honoured to be fighting on the biggest show in the UK and I promise to raise the bar in my weight category. I believe I am a well-rounded fighter with many weapons to my arsenal and fans can expect fireworks. My prediction for the fight is pain for my opponent… left , right, left, GOODNIGHT.

“I would like to thank my fans, thank my friends and family for their belief in me and my sponsors, The 2nd Battalion, The Duke of Lancaster’s Regiment, Bodytorque Strength & Conditioning, Dead Fast Clothing, Sapphire MMA and TFL Sports Agency.”

Greyson said:

“My Message to the fans is don’t blink and my message to my opponent is don’t blink.”

BAMMA’s Head of Talent Relations, Jude Samuel, said:

“This fight is about revenge: Creighton beat Greyson’s team mate earlier this year and Greyson is looking to settle the score. This; plus the talent, explosivity and heart that these fresh talents bring, make all the right ingredients for a preliminary Fight of the Night. Creighton brings the support of the Fusiliers into the house, and Greyson brings the London crowd, so you can expect some noise when these two go head to head at BAMMA 11.”

(October 15th.12) BAMMA is proud to announce another Lightweight Mixed Martial Arts bout to the BAMMA 11 card, as Marc Allen clashes with Dyson Roberts at Birmingham’s National Indoor Arena on 1st December.

Fighting out of Trojan Freefighters with a record of 6-1-0, Marc ‘Suplex’ Allen has conquered most of his opponents by TKO. A powerful wrestler with a good all round game, Allen’s skill set has been well honed through training with an internationally competitive team.

Marc Allen said:

“I’m excited to be back on BAMMA and I am looking to perform better than last time. I’m definitely going for a stoppage this time so I will not be holding back. I think that Dyson is a fairly well rounded fighter and comes out strong, so it’s going to be a bloody good fight – quite literally.”

Dyson Roberts makes a fierce prospect with a history of smashing his way to 1st round domination via Ground n Pound. However, the Team Titan fighter’s last outing at BAMMA 10 culminated in a Rear Naked Choke loss to Jeremy Petley, in what many considered to be Fight of the Night. The BAMMA 11 bout marks Roberts’ second fight at Lightweight, after a switch from the Welterweight category in which he debuted in 2008. Roberts currently stands with a record of 5-3-0.

Dyson Roberts said:

“My up and coming fight will be a great one, as I have a new kind of hunger after the way my last fight turned out. To dominate a whole fight then throw it away at the end of a round hurts a hell of a lot, especially when your opponent says ‘Stop’ half way through the round. You stop and the fight continues. I’m not bitter; I just feel a little cheated, but I blame myself only.

“So I will train as hard as I always do, but my opponent needs to be prepared for an even more switched on and aggressive Dyson Roberts. I NEED a win and nothing else will do. My fights are always exciting, but that will not be enough this time round. I want to stay with BAMMA and my win over Marc Allen will cement my place on BAMMA’s Lightweight roster. I can not wait.”

BAMMA’s Head of Talent Relations, Jude Samuel, said:

“Both fighters are coming off very tough fights on BAMMA 10, Dyson losing what many consider the Fight of the Night and Marc getting an extremely close, split decision win over Lee Taylor. Dyson is looking to get back onto a winning streak and is hungry for the win, while Allen is looking to make the Judges redundant by finishing the fight before the 3rd round.”

BAMMA 11 Announced For Dec. 1st, First Bouts Named To UK Card

Press Release (October 12th.12) BAMMA is proud to announce Tom Breese vs. Warren Kee to the BAMMA 11 card at Birmingham’s NIA on 1st December, for the very first BAMMA Lonsdale British Welterweight title showdown. The Mixed Martial Arts match was previously scheduled for BAMMA 10 but Kee was forced to withdraw due to injury […]

Press Release (October 12th.12) BAMMA is proud to announce Tom Breese vs. Warren Kee to the BAMMA 11 card at Birmingham’s NIA on 1st December, for the very first BAMMA Lonsdale British Welterweight title showdown. The Mixed Martial Arts match was previously scheduled for BAMMA 10 but Kee was forced to withdraw due to injury and was replaced by Jack Magee.

Birmingham homeboy, Tom Breese, is one of the UK’s most exciting Welterweight prospects. The 20 year old BAMMA fighter stands undefeated with a Pro record of 5-0-0, in which he has stopped all his opponents within two rounds; and has previous Amateur stats of 8-0-0. A nightmare for any opponent on the ground, Breese finished all his fights by Submission until he took Mark Tucker down with knees at BAMMA 9. Breese’s BAMMA 10 bout with replacement Jack Magee saw him execute a ruinous triangle win in the first round.

Tom Breese said:

“I’ve never taken a backward step in my whole professional career and with Kee I’m fighting a guy I was previously matched against. The thing is, I feel like I am evolving on a daily basis in all areas. MMA is my life, not a hobby or just something to do or say I’ve done. I’m on this thing, to go all the way. Collecting the BAMMA title by going through whoever stands before me is just another move I’ve got to make.”

Team Tsunami’s Warren ‘Relentless’ Kee comes with a record of 7-1-1 and the majority of his wins via 1st or 2nd round TKO. Kee is known for a devastating style in which he likes to grind his opponents down with “elbows, foot stomps and relentless pressure”.

Warren Kee said:

“I’m so looking forward to BAMMA 11, especially after injury forced me out of BAMMA 10. Tom Breese is undefeated so it will be a tough test. I’ve had 12 months of setbacks, but I’m healed now and have all that energy to burn in the cage come December 1st.

I feel I have never performed to anywhere near my ability in any of my past fights, so I will be looking to change that on fight night. This will bring me the win for sure.”

BAMMA’s Head of Talent Relations, Jude Samuel, said:

“The fight that should have been part of BAMMA 10 now has a home on BAMMA 11 as a Lonsdale British Welterweight Title Fight. Tom’s last opponent, replacement Jack Magee pushed him beyond what he had experienced before on BAMMA and brought out the best in him. Kee on the other hand is a totally different kind of fighter and now has the added motivation in fighting for a title. This clash between two exciting prospects will be electric.”

(October 12th.12) BAMMA is proud to announce two further Mixed Martial Arts fights to the BAMMA 11 card at Birmingham’s National Indoor Arena on 1st December:

A Lightweight match sees Richie Downes square off against Jeremy Petley, while Jonny Bilton faces Leon Edwards at Welterweight.

Lightweight Fight: Downes vs. Petley

London Fight Factory’s Jeremy Petley returns to the BAMMA cage on the back of a three fight winning streak and a record of 8-4-0. Formidable wherever the fight goes, BAMMA 10 saw Petley score an impressive, Rear-Naked Choke win against Dyson Roberts that wowed fans. (Watch Petley vs. Roberts here: http://www.channel5.com/shows/bamma-10-world-title-fight-highlights/episodes/bamma-10-world-title-fight-highlights)

Richie Downes (7-1-0-2) has remained undefeated since his 2007 debut, when he lost against the to-be BAMMA Lightweight Champ, Rob Sinclair. Coming off 7 consecutive wins, the Kaobon fighter has cut down opponents with both submissions and strikes.

Downes said: “I am looking forward to fighting on BAMMA 11; it’s a great event to showcase my skills. I don’t know a great deal about Jeremy, except that he is a tough opponent with a ground game that needs to be respected. I plan on taking this opportunity though and putting on a show for all the fans in attendance. Watch this space!”

Welterweight Fight: Bilton vs. Edwards

Sunderland’s Jonny Bilton, has a professional MMA record of 2-1-0 plus a string of victories at Semi-Pro that saw him win the Total Combat Semi-Pro European title. Both of Bilton’s professional wins have come in the first round and none of his fights have made it past the second, with the bulk of them via submission.

Bilton said: “I’m really excited about fighting on BAMMA and the step up, and I’m going to rise to the occasion. I’ll make sure I win wherever the fight goes. If he wants to stand and bang, I’ll stand and bang; and if he wants to go to the ground, I’ll sort him. Expect fireworks from this fight as I’m going to give it my all. I’m coming back and I’m going to give it 100%.”

20 year old Birmingham fighter, Leon ‘Rocky Edwards,’ also comes with a Professional MMA record of 2-1-0, having been undefeated at Amateur and Semi-Pro over 7 fights. The one loss on his record comes from a DQ.

Leon Edwards said: “I can’t wait to fight on the BAMMA card. There’s no way I’m losing this fight in my home town. If the fight’s standing or on the ground, I don’t care – My opponent’s in trouble and I’m winning this fight.”

BAMMA’s Head of Talent Relations, Jude Samuel, said:

“A lot has been talked about hot prospect Richie Downes, who is on a 7 fight winning streak. He takes on Jeremy Petley who has come off a win in what many considered the fight of the night on BAMMA 10, against Dyson Roberts. This will be a fast paced technical battle if both of their last performances are anything to go by.

“Sunderland’s Jonny Bilton vs. Birmingham’s Leon Edwards is a fight that promises to bring a charged and volatile mixture of youth and hunger. This is a fight during which fans should avoid blinking.”

Press Release – (Sept 6th.12) Europe’s leading Mixed Martial Arts promotion, BAMMA, is proud to announce the finalised fight card for BAMMA 10, with late replacements making two compelling new bouts. The event takes place at London Wembley on 15th September and is to be live televised on 5*, with the highlights to be broadcast on Channel 5. Internationally, BAMMA 10 will be broadcast live on Fight Network in Canada.

Following an injury to Carl Noon, UK legend Matt Ewin (22-12-0) is now set to face undefeated upcomer, Luke Barnatt (5-0-0), who comes fresh off a first round victory last weekend against Matteo Piran (8-8-0). Ewin brings experience spanning ten years against top names and marks a big step up for the Tsunami fighter as his toughest test yet. Ewin is coming off a three fight losing streak, last being defeated by Leeroy Barnes at BAMMA 9 after stepping in at a matter of days’ notice. This intriguing Middleweight match looks to flesh out into a captivating bout: Will Ewin see a return to form against a rising talent who is impossible to train for? Or will Luke Barnatt live up to his ambitions and prove himself in the next echelon of the sport?

Matt Ewin said:

“I’ve had a great camp for this fight. I’m feeling confident in my prep for it even though the opponent has changed. It’s going to be a far more technical fight than with Noon. He’s got good stand up and very, very long range. He’s definitely going to be a name in the future but not right now; and this isn’t going to be a good fight for him. I know what they’re expecting from the fight but I’ve got a few more things for them this time. I’m definitely not done yet!”

Luke Barnatt said:

“Taking Matt Ewin on in 11 days’ notice is surprising to most people….Even BAMMA thought my coach was punishing me for something, but I don’t see it as a step up in class. I believe the only way to be a top fighter is by testing yourself against the top and I see it as finally fighting someone at my level. Ewin is a top UK middleweight and I see myself as one too, so I jumped at the opportunity to fight him. Everyone keeps telling me Matt Ewin has fought the Who’s Who of MMA. Well, I fought last weekend and beat a top European Middleweight in 4 minutes and next weekend I’m going to try to do the same in front of a packed BAMMA crowd at Wembley. Then, he’ll have Luke “Bigslow” Barnatt to add to his list.”

A second injury replacement sees Jack ‘Mad’ Magee step into Warren Kees’s shoes to face Tom Breese. Breese is one of the UK’s most exciting Welterweight prospects. Standing undefeated with a Pro record of 4-0-0 on BAMMA , and an Amateur record of 8-00, Breese has stopped all his opponents before the third round largely via Submission. Renowned for a formidable ground game, Breese has recently been honing his stand up skills and now comes with fierce striking arsenal. New opponent, Jack Magee, is a first round Submission specialist fighting out of Gracie Fusion with a record of 7-4-0-1 and wins via an array of methods. This changes the landscape of the fight for Breese who was looking to withstand a striking barrage from Kees. Fans can expect a show of technical prowess when this fight hits the ground.

Jack Magee said:

“I feel great about the fight. I don’t know too much about my opponent, but I’ve heard he is a tough fighter who likes both stand up and ground work; and so do I, so it should be a sexy fight. It’s a pleasure to fight on BAMMA and it was a good feeling to have such a big show call me up. So, thanks to all who got this fight on.”

Tom Breese said:

“My opponent change is of no concern to me. Regardless of him, my original guy or not, the result will be the same. I respect anyone who takes a fight on such short notice and I thank Jack Magee for doing so, but in doing so he believes he is in with a chance of beating me. He thinks he has something others have not and I don’t like that. I don’t like that one bit and I will dispatch him and show him that it was not his greatest decision.”

BAMMA’s VP of Talent Relations, Jude Samuel, said:

“I’m excited about both these fights. Luke is taking a very tough fight with Ewin but his team believes he has what it takes to make the step up and to be competing at the next level. The Breese vs. Magee fight brings Tom back to fighting in his strongest area, but with an opponent that can really challenge him using his own medicine and with longer experience. I expect both these fights to be compelling.”
