On Saturday evening, Bellator held their Bellator 152 event from Pala Alpitour in Torino, Italy, with Patricky “Pitbull” Freire taking on Kevin Souza in the main event.

Freire defeated Souza, who was a very late notice replacement for Derek Campos, who was originally scheduled to fight Freire.

It’s once again fight day here at LowKickMMA, and the talent on display tonight (Friday, April 16th, 2016) will come from in the form of Bellator 152. Headlining the card are Patricky Freire and Kevin Souza, but there’s a whole bunch of great fights also taking place on the rest of the main card.

Patricky Freire and Kevin Souza met in a lightweight bout in the main event. Not a very entertaining fight. Freire wanted to take the fight to the ground, and that’s exactly what he did. That was the story of the fight. Freire taking down Souza and ground and pounding him. After three rounds, the judges gave Freire the decision win.

Alessio Sakara and Brian Rogers met in a light heavyweight bout in the co-main event. An entertaining bout to say the least. In the first round, Sakara was walking him down early as Rogers was counter striking. The fans were behind Sakara. Rogers was trying to clinch with him, but Sakara wasn’t having any of that and took him down. Sakara worked him over with strikes. In the second round, Sakara caught him with a flurry of strikes and Rogers went down. This one is over.

A.J. McKee and Danilo Belluardo met in a featherweight bout. After the two fighters clinched early on the fence, McKee was kneed in the nuts. McKee recovered, knocked him down and finished him on the ground with strikes.

Anastasia Yankova and Anjela Pink met in a women’s flyweight bout. Yankova was dominant. In the first round, Yankova clinched with her right away and took her down. She got to mount and locked in an armbar and this one is over.

Opening the main card on Spike TV for at Bellator 152 was Daniele Miceli vs. Daniele Scatizzi in a featherweight bout. This one did not last long at all. Scatizzi took him down mid-way through the first round and got his back. He then landed a series of strikes to end the fight.

Bellator will make its debut on foreign soil Saturday with Bellator 152.

But before that could happen, the weigh-ins had to go down.

Bellator will make its debut on foreign soil Saturday with Bellator 152.

But before that could happen, the weigh-ins had to go down.

The five-fight MMA card will take place in the afternoon from Turin, Italy, but the card will air via tape-delay on Spike TV later that night beginning at 10 p.m. ET. The series of kickboxing matches also set to go down will air on Spike TV next Friday night.

In the main event, Patricky “Pitbull” Freire welcomes Kevin Souza to Bellator. Freire weighed in at 155.2 pounds, as did Souza, a former UFC fighter.

Former UFC Veteran Signs With Bellator, Will Headline 4/16 Show Against Freire

Well, it looks like Patricky Freire finally has a new opponent for the upcoming Bellator 152 event.

Kevin Souza (16-4), a former UFC featherweight veteran, has signed with Bellator MMA and will be making his promotional debut at Bellator 152, replacing the injured Derek Campos against Freire in the main event.

Souza, who fought at 145 pounds in the UFC, will be moving up to 155 pounds for the Freire fight and depending on how he feels, could be staying in that division.

“Maybe, I don’t know yet,” Souza told MMAFighting.com, confirming that he signed a four-fight deal with Bellator. “I will fight and see how I feel. I’m fighting a guy that is at the top of the division, close to the title, and I believe that a win over him gives me a big chance of being the next in line, so we’ll see what happens.”
