Earlier today (Wed. December 12, 2018) it was announced that the UFC has postponed their UFC 233 pay-per-view (PPV) event.

Initially, the PPV was set to go down from the Honda Center in Anaheim, California on Jan. 26th.

However, those plans have now been nixed after the UFC failed to find a main event for the show. As a result, Bellator MMA President Scott Coker decided to troll the MMA promotional juggernaut. Coker posted the following on his Twitter shortly after the news broke:

Initially, the plan was to have TJ Dillashaw vs. Henry Cejudo headline the card. The 135-pound champion is attempting to make history by challenging for a second title against Cejudo at 125 pounds.

Recently the UFC decided to move that fight to UFC on ESPN+ 1 to kickoff the promotion’s broadcast deal with ESPN. The UFC was then targeting a welterweight title bout between Tyron Woodley and Colby Covington.

However, issues from both sides prevented that contest from getting booked. After being unable to find a main event for the card, the UFC was forced to make the decision to postpone.

Nick Diaz: F*ck UFC, Bellator Pays Better

If you’re confident that Nick Diaz will be making the walk to face Jorge Masvidal at UFC 235 next year, pump the breaks.

While UFC President Dana White recently said that, as far as he knows, the fight between Diaz and Masvidal is a done deal, don’t be so sure. Recently, a fan on Twitter took a screenshot from Diaz’s Instagram story over the weekend. In one of the posts, Diaz blasted his current fight promotion by saying “F*ck UFC.”

He proceeded to praise Bellator and promotion President Scott Coker, whom he said pays their fighters better:

Both Nick and his brother, Nate, have had issues with the UFC for the past several years. The UFC has found it so troublesome to negotiate with the Californians that they’ve hired a special representative to deal with their negotiations. Initially, Nate Diaz was set to make his Octagon return in November. However, his opponent Dustin Poirier was forced out with an injury.

Diaz refused to stay on the card for a late-notice replacement and withdrew. It was recently reported that Nick would return to the Octagon after four years on March 2nd against Jorge Masvidal. However, given Diaz’s recent post, that’s seeming much more unlikely at the moment.

Tito Ortiz Teases Rematch With Chael Sonnen

Former UFC light heavyweight champion Tito Ortiz teases a rematch with Chael Sonnen after his recent victory over Chuck Liddell.

It looks like Tito Ortiz and Chael Sonnen are teasing a rematch.

Ortiz is coming off of a first-round knockout victory over Chuck Liddell. The pair headlined Oscar De La Hoya’s first-ever Golden Boy MMA-promoted event on November 24. After the fight, Ortiz, who was believed to be retired, expressed interest in continuing to fight. Now it looks like he could be eying a rematch with Bellator MMA’s Chael Sonnen.

During the Ortiz vs. Liddell fight, Sonnen sent out a series of Tweets mocking the match-up bak during the fight:

Ortiz seems to have dug them up and issued out the following response:

“[Chael Sonnen], so you want me to kick your ass again? This time I’m not going to choke you out. I’m going to beat you down. Or are just infatuated by the way I live?”

Sonnen and Ortiz met inside the Bellator cage in January of 2017. “The Huntington Beach Bad Boy” submitted “The Bad Guy” in the first round with a rear-naked choke.

The pair have had a bitter rivalry with one another over the past several years. Even after their fight last year, it was hard to believe things would be over after one bout. Perhaps Ortiz is lobbying to get his hands on Sonnen again.

Former WWE star Jack Swagger is set to make his mixed martial arts (MMA) debut.

Swagger (real name Jake Hager) has signed with Bellator MMA and will compete in their heavyweight division. He has decided to transition into the world of MMA after his professional wrestling stint with WWE came to an end last year.

He signed with Bellator MMA a few months later. Today (Mon. December 3, 2018) the former NCAA Division I All-American joined “The Ariel Helwani MMA Show.” During the program, Swagger revealed his MMA debut now has a date and opponent. Hager will face J.W. Kiser on Jan. 26th at the Bellator 214 card. Here’s what he had to say (via MMA Junkie’s Chamatkar Sandhu):

“I think my career will be a lot longer than most people imagine, in mixed martial arts. … I have nothing to prove. I’m doing this for me and my family. I know I belong and you will see that I do when I step in the cage.”

Hager’s opponent, Kiser, is currently 0-1 in his career. He started 0-3 in his amateur MMA career, losing all via TKO in the first round. Kiser picked up a first-round TKO victory to make his amateur record 1-4 and then decided to turn pro. A year later, Kiser turned pro, only to lose in 24 seconds of the first round via TKO.

Bellator 214 goes down from The Forum in Inglewood, California on January 26, 2019. The event is headlined by Fedor Emelianenko vs. Ryan Bader for the vacant Bellator MMA heavyweight title.

It’s once again fight day here at LowKickMMA, and the talent on display tonight (Saturday, December 1, 2018) will come in the form of Bellator 211. Headlining the card are Alessio Sakara and Kent Kauppinen, but there’s a whole bunch of great fights also taking place on the rest of the main card.

Alessio Sakara and Kent Kauppinen meet in a light heavyweight bout in the main event. In round 1, both fighters came out aggressive and were trading some nice shots. Kauppinen stunned him in about 40 seconds into the round. Sakara missed a wild head kick. Kauppinen KO’d him with a nasty left hook.

Hesdy Gerges and Domingos Barros meet in a heavyweight bout in the co-main event. In round 1, Barros ate a strong leg kick but managed to take him down and got top position. Barros got full mount and rained down strikes to earn the win.

Luca Vitali vs. Pedro Carvalho in a lightweight bout. In round 1, Carvalho came out, clinched with him, and was able to lock in a guillotine choke for the win.

Alen Amedovski vs. Ibrahim Mane is next in a middleweight bout. In round 1, Amedovski didn’t take long to finish his fight as he landed a right hook then a straight left hand to put Mane to sleep.

Opening the main card on Paramount Network is Kiefer Crosbie vs. Orlando D’Ambrosio. In round 1, they had an early feeling out process before Crosbie took him down and controlled the pace of the action with his ground and pound. In round 2, more of the same as what happened in the first round with Crosbie controlling the pace with his wrestling. In round 3, D’Ambrosio couldn’t do much on the feet and had a hard time trying to stay up right. Crosbie continued his wrestling game plan that got him a decision win.
