UFC middleweight champion Michael Bisping has never been known for mincing his words. Especially when it comes to performance enhancing drug users, ‘The Count’ speaks his mind to the fullest extent. Having fought multiple opponents who have failed for PED’s during his UFC career, Bisping’s frustration is somewhat understandable. when appearing on Ric Flair’s podcast last week, the 185-pound boss went in on former UFC heavyweight champion Brock Lesnar.
After the UFC 200 USADA debacle left the card essentially in ruins, Bisping declared he would knock Lesnar out with a single punch during the now infamous tirade. More information about Lesnar’s failed test has since arisen, as his lawyer claims foot cream could be the source of the estrogen blockers flagged by USADA. Brock’s pre-fight questionnaire omits any admission of using such products.
Bisping Goes Off…Again
There’s been no response from Brock Lesnar, but that hasn’t stopped Michael Bisping from continuing his rant. The WWE crossover and former UFC heavyweight champion’s failed test has clearly hit a nerve with ‘The Count.’ Here’s what the angry Brit told MMAFighting.com:
“Brock Lesnar tested positive for steroids, it’s as simple as that. I have a very strong opinion, so if you’re going to come over here and fight and take steroids, you’re a pussy. Simple as that. You come in here and act tough, but then you’ve got to take steroids? So which is it? Are you are tough guy or are you not a tough guy? And if you’re taking steroids, then you’re not a tough guy, because you’re mentally weak and you’re a coward.”
Jacked White Boy
Before UFC 200, Lesnar answered insinuations of steroid use by Mark Hunt by claiming he was a ‘jacked white boy, so deal with it.’ It wasn’t until after the fight against Hunt that USADA revealed Lesnar’s failed test, and the drama really began. ‘The Super Samoan’ fell out with the UFC in a big way, and was even more furious than Bisping about the ongoing steroid saga.
Are the UFC and USADA doing enough to discourage steroid use in MMA? Further to that, does anyone see this tainted supplement defense as an exploitation of loopholes? If so, maybe cheating in MMA is unavoidable.
