Paulie Malignaggi believes he was robbed last night (Sat. June 22, 2019) in his Bare-Knuckle FC 6 bout against Artem Lobov.

The pair fought all five rounds in the BKFC 6 main event. When it was all said and done, the judges’ awarded “The Russian Hammer” the unanimous decision win. Speaking at the post-fight press conference, Malignaggi blasted the Florida judging, claiming they don’t know what boxing is (via MMA Mania):

“The only thing I could come up with is a couple of times off the spin-offs I went off-balance and he kind of grazed me with some shots that maybe they thought the punches caused me to go off-balance instead of my legs and my spin-off going off-balance and they thought he was hurting me so that made them give him a round,” Malignaggi said.

“This is also a problem when you have a state that has a fight every 50 years. You have judges that don’t know what the f*ck they’re watching, don’t know what the f*ck they’re doing, and you get this. Everybody and their mothers thought I won this fight, but you know what? I’m also 38 years old and I guess this is sort of a sign to say, ‘Yo, you gotta stop.’

“Because I probably would have kept doing this if I won this fight tonight… once I got in there and I got going it was kind of fun. It was like I was in the moment. Sure, it sucks getting hit, of course. But I took that one shot in the clinch and I thought I dealt with the clinch pretty well, I was pretty elusive, and so I was boxing well.”

Malignaggi went on the label the judging as “bush league,” and maintains that he out-boxed the former UFC star:

“Ironically, the judges gave me the first two rounds and then after three they didn’t give me a round. Again, bush league shit, because I got cut in round three. Once the bush league shit came in they literally only scored my blood. The same shit was happening, he was getting out-boxed very easily, but now I was cut.

“And clearly the bush league judges scored the blood and not the actual fight or what was happening, because realistically nothing else happened aside from that clinch where he definitely got me with some good shots.”

Andy Ruiz Jr. Blasts Anthony Joshua: ‘He’s Not Good At Boxing’

Andy Ruiz Jr. is extremely confident he can get the job done in a second go around with Anthony Joshua. Even if the rest of the heavyweight division isn’t giving him the respect he deserves.

After his return to California with his newly-won IBF, WBA, and WBO heavyweight titles, Ruiz Jr. addressed his pending rematch with the English star. The first-ever Mexican-American heavyweight champion in boxing history believes his fight with Joshua will play out the same, going as far as saying that Joshua isn’t good at boxing (via BBC Sports):

“The rematch is going to be the same. I am going to be more prepared and more ready,” Ruiz said. “I know his flaws. I can do a lot better. The only thing that he can do is just run around, he’s not good at boxing.”

Earlier this month (Sat. June 1, 2019) Ruiz shocked the boxing world when he finished Joshua in the seventh round of their Madison Square Garden meeting. Ruiz jumped in against Joshua on short-notice after initial opponent Jarrell “Big Baby” Miller pulled out due to several failed drug tests.

Following the defeat, it was announced that the rematch clause in the contract was triggered. Ruiz and Joshua will likely meet again in the next several months, with a location yet to be determined. While England would be the favorable location for Joshua, New York has also been discussed as a possibility:

“People thought I wasn’t going to do anything, I was too big, too overweight,” Ruiz said. “I don’t want to say all the things I am going to change. There is going to be a lot of changing, I am going to come at a better weight this time. It’s going to be a hell of a fight.”

Last night’s (Sat. June 22, 2019) Artem Lobov win over Paulie Malignaggi really seems to have inspired UFC flyweight and bantamweight champion Henry Cejudo.

“The King Of Cringe” took to Twitter shortly after the bout to issue out a challenge of his own to a boxing World Champion. Cejudo issued out the challenge to unified lightweight champion Vasyl Lomachenko:

“Artem Lobov (13-15,MMA) former UFC fighter wins by unanimous victory over Paulie Malagnaggi (36-8, ,Boxing) former World Champion . What do you think an Olympic & #UFC champ Champ would do to #boxing ‘s @VasylLomachenko ?”

Lomachenko was quick to respond with the following:

Cejudo comes off a big win over Marlon Moraes to capture the vacant 135-pound title. Now, he reigns as both the 125 and 135-pound champion of the Las Vegas-based promotion. Not to mention he’s a former Olympic Gold Medalist wrestler. Unfortunately, “Triple C” is likely to miss the remainder of 2019 with a shoulder injury.

As for Lomachenko, he remains one of boxing’s pound-for-pound best fighters in the world. In his last outing, he successfully retained his WBA (Super), WBO, and The Ring lightweight titles. Lomachenko knocked out Anthony Crolla in the fourth round of their April meeting.

“The Matrix” seems to have taken an interest in Muay Thai training, so perhaps a fight with Cejudo isn’t too far off.

Lobov beat Malignaggi via unanimous decision with 48-47 on all three judges’ scorecards at the BKFC 6 event. The show went down on Saturday night (June 22, 2019) in Tampa, Florida and aired on pay-per-view (PPV).

The SBG Ireland Head Coach took to his official Twitter shortly following Lobov’s upset. He shared the following post: “This is the best day of my life!”

After the fight, Malignaggi announced his retirement from fighting, which means that he will not be returning to Bare-Knuckle Fighting for another go. Despite his exit, it didn’t stop him criticizing the judges’ ruling.

He would also claim that he only got hit with one good punch during the entire fight. Conor McGregor’s longtime training partner had been exchanging words and even had a confrontation with the former boxing champion to set up the fight.

As of result, there was a lot of bad-blood coming into it. Now that it’s over, it appears this feud will remain in the history books. Thus, Paulie won’t get his desired fight with the former UFC lightweight and featherweight champion.
