Jake Paul and Mike Tyson began the hype and path toward their November 15 battle with a press conference in New York City on August 18, held as one of the final events of the three-day Fanatics Fanfest NYC.

Though the press conference began 40 minutes after it was originally scheduled to start, the Javits Center theater was packed to capacity and the crowd was raucous. From the moment Paul entered, he was mercilessly booed and jeered; meanwhile, Tyson received non-stop cheering throughout the event.

The press conference was hosted by Ryan Clark, who discussed the bout which he called the biggest boxing event in the world, bringing together six generations of boxing fans.

Both men expressed not just a desire, but a promise, to knock the other man out in their fight on November 15 in Dallas, Texas.

Paul claimed that he was the one who brought the fight’s lucrative Netflix deal to Tyson, claiming that it was Tyson who insisted the fight be sanctioned as it is.

Tyson responded by stating that he’s taken this fight because he can, calling it the best of all time vs. a YouTuber, which resulted in the crowd directing a “YouTuber!” chant at Paul multiple times during the press conference.

After just a couple of media questions, the two stared down, with some physicality appearing to show.

Paul vs. Tyson was originally scheduled to go down in July before Tyson suffered an ulcer flare up on a plane.

Paul enters this fight on a four-fight win streak, most recently stopping Mike Perry last month.

This will be Tyson’s first sanctioned pro fight since his loss to Kevin McBride in June 2005, which ultimately served as Tyson’s retirement bout. Tyson battled Roy Jones Jr. to an eight-round draw in an exhibition bout in November 2020.

Boxing star, Devin Haney received more barbs from former-foe, Ryan Garcia overnight on social media – after footage emerged of him engaging in a physical altercation with a civilian whilst attending a fairground attraction.

While yet to return to action in the time since, Haney has been linked with a potential deal with Saudi adviser, Turki Alalshikh to bring his talents to the region, however, overnight, footage of his latest brawl – albeit outside the squared circle would emerge.

Attending a fairground attraction, Haney was seemingly agitated by a heckler, whom he swung at with a strike – which missed, before his entourage separated the duo. 

Receiving criticizms of a mocking nature on social media – Haney was blasted by his arch-nemesis, Garcia, who is currently carrying out a suspension for his anti-doping violation earlier this year.

“I did one of the most stupid things I’ve ever done, but unfortunately if you ask me questions,” Eddie Hearn said on Cigar Talk. “I’m pretty honest. I really didn’t speak favorably about (Tyson) Fury – (Francis) Ngannou. He (Turki Alalshikh) is putting on this event, and there’s this big promoter who used to work with these other guys, now he’s slagg8ing off Fury – Ngannou. Slowly, I’m coming down the order of ‘Flavor of the Month’ with him (Alalshikh).”

Fighting Morecambe native, Fury back in October of last year in Riyadh, former heavyweight mixed martial arts champion, Ngannou suffered a controversial split decision defeat to the former over the course of 10 rounds – even scoring a stunning knockdown against the British fighter en route to defeat.

Hailey Welch has become one of the most talked about people on the planet in recent months following her viral street interview.

Better known as “Hawk Tuah Girl”, her profile has drastically climbed following her now iconic line and in a bizarre turn of events, has somehow taken a combat sports route.

Welch has spoken about potentially competing in what could go on to be the best example of someone with a large following deciding to turn that popularity into promoting a fight of some kind.

Given her profile, it’s not surprising that there would be plenty of fighters who would be willing to put their hands up for the match-up.

She was recently called out by influencer and OnlyFans star Astrid Wett, who has crossed over into the world of celebrity boxing.

A recent video posted by Welch points towards an MMA fight being in her future, even if it is clear from the start that it shouldn’t be taken too seriously.

Hailey Welch Drills Muay Thai Fundamentals Amidst Combat Sports Debut Talk

A recent video posted by Welch on X shows her training out of the Renzo Gracie L.A. gym, as the coach helps to teach her and a friend some basic Muay Thai techniques.

After practicing a few combinations with some knees and elbows thrown in for good measure, they put their newfound skills to good use by teaming up to beat down their sparring partner.

The video even ends with Welch calling out arguably the greatest MMA fighter of all the time, the current UFC heavyweight champion, Jon Jones.

“I feel like I’m a brand new woman now. Jon Jones, where you at m***********?”

Though it doesn’t seem clear whether she is entirely serious about stepping inside a cage or ring at some point soon, it doesn’t appear that this is necessarily a cash grab attempt based on her popularity.

As several of the replies on social media echo, Welch is having just having fun.

“Haliey is literally just living her best life now.”

‘The Notorious’ Conor McGregor is the biggest name in the history of the UFC. The Irish athlete changed the landscape of MMA when he became a two-division champion winning the featherweight and lightweight titles both by stunning knockout. Later, he had blockbuster fights against Khabib Nurmagomedov and Floyd Mayweather Jr.

However, McGregor has been inactive in combat sports since 2021. Notorious’ was looking to make a comeback but met a knockout loss and leg break both against Dustin Poirier. Since then he has been recovering from his injury and showing quite a lifestyle on social media, depicting a lot of partying and not much training. Michael Chandler coached TUF opposite to McGregor, has given up waiting for the Irish striker to be ready for a match.

Recently, UFC President Dana White said that he doubts McGregor will fight in 2024. To this, the Irish athlete yelled on X for a December match. In a now-deleted Tweet, he said:

“Ah, Dana, December is the date! Bring the calendar year home with a winning event! Come on now, what is this? I am off to altitude next month to prepare. DECEMBER! Tell Dana and the UFC WE WANT DECEMBER! WE DESERVE DECEMBER!”

“Dana come on, December pretty please. I’m going to train in the mountains hahahaha.

“I would destroy juiced up 200 lb Conor in boxing or MMA. We do one of those first and then we can do the bare knuckle thing.”
