Brendan Schaub has offered an update on his daughter’s health after revealing that she would be undergoing emergency surgery.

On Wednesday, the former heavyweight standout shared an emotional video on social media, revealing that his baby girl was hospitalized and facing surgery. Putting family first, Schaub announced the cancelation of multiple dates he had booked around the country as well as an appearance on his podcast, The Fighter and The Kid with Bryan Callen.

Fans and fighters showered Schaub and his family with an overwhelming amount of support, much of it coming from some of the biggest names in the game, including Conor McGregor, Belal Muhammad, Matt Frevola, Ariel Helwani, and Shannon Knapp.

24 hours later, Schaub offered an update on X, revealing that the surgery was a success. He also expressed his gratitude for all the well-wishes during this trying time.

“Surgery was a success,” Schaub wrote. “I can’t express how much love and support my family felt from everyone. The internet from my experience is a dark awful place. My views have changed recently. The amount of prayers and positive thoughts sent didn’t go unnoticed. Can’t thank everyone individually but trust me I see it. Life is scary for a parent. Forever grateful for the team @ChildrensLA Thank you.”

The MMA community is rallying around former UFC fighter Brendan Schaub whose daughter is undergoing emergency surgery tomorrow (January 25).

It’s been nearly a decade since Schaub has stepped inside the Octagon, but the 10-5 fighter has stayed in the sport’s spotlight through his popular podcasts including The Schaub Show and Food Truck Diaries. He is also a touring stand-up comic and a regular guest on The Joe Rogan Experience.

Recently, Schaub took to social media to reveal that his daughter will have emergency surgery this week. “Most of my family and friends know my baby girl has been in and out of the hospital since the day she was born and she is to have an emergency surgery on Thursday. So I have to cancel my tour dates in Nashville and Austin,”  Schaub said in an emotional video on X.

In addition to canceling multiple tour dates, Schaub announced that he will not be appearing on this week’s podcast, The Fighter and The Kid alongside co-host and fellow comedian Bryan Callen.

“I won’t be having a podcast. Almost a week of podcasting in 12 years. [It’s] pretty serious but… hopefully this all goes well. It’s just a phase you know. So, love you guys,” Schaub added.

Conor McGregor and the MMA Community Surround Brendan Schaub with support

Offering support to Schaub was former two-division UFC champion Conor McGregor, who sent a word of encouragement to ‘Big Brown’ in response to his heartbreaking video message.

“Sending prayers and positive energy your way Brendan! Keep strong she has fighter genes,” McGregor wrote.

The Irishman wasn’t the only member of the close-knit MMA community to send their well-wishes to the former heavyweight standout. Ariel Helwani added, “All the best to you and your family, Brendan. Hang in there.” Invicta FC president Shannon Knapp also commented on the post, “Prayers for you and your family.”

Sending you & the fam all the love & positive energy,” Matt Frevola wrote.

Sending prayers your way bro,” added Belal Muhammad.

Joe Rogan was stunned by Saturday night’s UFC 297 headliner that saw Dricus Du Plessis walk away with the middleweight world title.

Four months removed from his dominant performance against Israel Adesanya to claim the 185-pound crown, Sean Strickland returned to defend the title against the South African finisher inside Toronto’s Scotiabank Arena. After five entertaining rounds of back-and-forth action, Du Plessis was announced as the winner via split decision. Fighters, fans, and media members were all split down the middle with many suggesting Strickland’s striking did enough to retain his title.

That includes Rogan who live-streamed his reaction alongside former heavyweight standout Brendan Schaub and others.

“Woooow! Interesting,” Rogan said, noticeably flabbergasted by the result. “Very interesting. I wonder how the people online feel about that. Cuz you know we aren’t scoring it while we’re watching it. We’re watching it and having fun. Were we wrong?…”

Brendan Schaubs Gives Joe Rogan His Head-Scratching Assessment of Du Plessis vs. Strickland

As Rogan continued to let the result weigh on his mind, Schaub chimed in and suggested that Israel Adesanya and divisional prospect Bo Nickal would walk through both Strickland and Du Plessis inside the Octagon.

I think Izzy or Bo Nickal eats these guy’s lunch,” Schaub added.

Clearly, Schaub completely forgot about the 25-minute ass-kicking that Sean Strickland put on ‘The Last Stylebender’ in September.

With Du Plessis now sitting atop the throne in the middleweight division, many suspect that the long-awaited clash between ‘Stillknocks’ and Adesanya will be booked for some time in 2024. Whether or not that happens at UFC 300 remains to be seen, but given the mangled appearance of Du Plessis’ face following his scrap with Strickland, we’re gonna go ahead and assume that the bout will be pushed to sometime this summer.

Sportsbooks have already released betting lines for the potential showdown with Adesanya being listed as a sizeable favorite. The oddsmakers at BetOnline.ag opened Adesanya as the -330 betting favorite against +270 for the underdog Du Plessis. Those numbers will undoubtedly fluctuate in both directions as we get closer to fight night.

Brendan Schaub mocks Dana White over Francis Ngannou most relevant fighter not with the UFC

Brendan Schaub criticizes Dana White’s handling of the situation with Francis Ngannou following his performance against Tyson Fury.

Going into his fight against Fury a massive underdog, not many excepted much from Ngannou. However, the 37-year-old would drop Fury and win multiple rounds of the fight.

Although he lost, Ngannou’s stock has never been higher and will likely see himself in another fight which will earn him a big payday.

Brendan Schaub criticizes Dana White

Ngannou betting on himself and leaving the UFC has certainly paid off, but it also leaves the promotion and vocal critic, Dana White, with egg on their face.

Former heavyweight Brendan Schaub turned podcaster, who has had his own fued with White, spoke on white’s handling of the situation. Schaub said that White made a mistake in the dealing with Ngannou and

“Here’s what bums me out about all this, as much as we don’t want to say it’s UFC versus boxing, this was even more UFC versus boxing than Conor vs. Floyd ’cause we actually had a chance here,” Schaub said on The Schaub Show. (H/T Fan Nation)

It pains me to see that Dana White’s not part of it because you have Izzy there, you had Usman there, you had Conor McGregor there, you had Vince McMahon there, you had The Undertaker there, which are under the TKO banner, then Dana White’s ego, he can’t give it up. It’s very, very rare where Dana White makes a mistake of this magnitude.

“He made a royal mistake betting against Francis Ngannou,” Schaub continued. “To be fair, as a businessman he probably made the right choice in hindsight. Now that we’re here, royal, royal mess up ’cause you have the most relevant fighter on the planet and he’s not with the UFC. He has nothing to do with the UFC. Matter of fact, he hates the UFC.”

Brendan Schaub claims Jon Jones should've been stripped of his title after UFC 295 fight withdrawal

Former heavyweight contender and The Ultimate Fighter victor, Brendan Schaub has claimed the UFC “missed the boat” on stripping incumbent divisional champion, Jon Jones of gold following his exit from UFC 295 due to injury, claiming the title should now be vacant in the Endicott native’s absence.

Jones, the current undisputed heavyweight champion, was slated to make his return to the Octagon at UFC 295 next month in New York City, however, a pectoral tendon tear has forced the pound-for-pound number one off the Madison Square Garden card, cancelling a long-awaited bout with Stipe Miocic.

And as a result, in Jones’ expected eight month absence from active competition, the UFC have introduced an interim title to the division, which will be on the line at UFC 295, between surging heavyweight new-blood, Sergei Pavlovich, and Tom Aspinall.

Brendan Schaub claims Jon Jones should’ve been stripped of his UFC gold

Whilst the introduction of an interim crown to the division has been heralded – as has the booking of a bout between Pavlovich, and Aspinall, UFC alum turned podcast host and standup comedian, Schaub claims Jones should have been stripped of the undisputed heavyweight championship.

“UFC missed the boat on this a little, not stripping [Jon Jones of the title],” Brendan Schaub said on his YouTube channel. “I guess, yeah, strip him of the belt. When he beat Ciryl Gane, he’s the heavyweight champ, when your champ is out at least a year with this injury, there should not be an interim title fight. It should just be the vacant belt.”

“When you think about Jon Jones and Stipe (Miocic), I guess the rumor, anybody who’ close to the game knows that the plan was both these guys to retire so whether it was win or loss on either end, Stipe was planning on retiring. Jon Jones was going to do the same thing so either way, if their fight were to go down like it was supposed to in two weeks, you still don’t really have a heavyweight champion.” (H/T MMA News)

Sharing his thoughts on the cancellation of his fight with Jones, Ohio veteran, Miocic claims the UFC took the decision to compete for an interim title next month away from him – in favor of rebooking a long-anticipated fight with the former at some stage next year.

Brendan Schaub believes Dillon Danis could resort to choking out Logan Paul in the ring: ‘He’s a wild boy’

Dillon Danis

Former UFC heavyweight Brendan Schaub believes Dillon Danis may go into business for himself when he steps inside the boxing ring for a highly anticipated clash with Logan Paul.

On Saturday, October 14, Danis will return to competitive combat sports for the first time in four years. Scheduled to co-headline Misfits Boxing’s ‘The PRIME Card’ in Manchester, Danis will square off against Paul in what has evolved into a full-on grudge match after the BJJ specialist spent the last two months trolling the social media star’s fiancee, swimsuit model Nina Agdal, online.

Danis’ incessant slut-shaming of Agdal has even landed him on the wrong side of a pending lawsuit with Agdal accusing him of violating state and federal ‘revenge porn’ laws that could end up costing him hundreds of thousands of dollars.

Sharing his thoughts on the upcoming clash and all the craziness that has occured over the last several weeks, Brendan Schaub believes things could go awry when the two men finally strap on the eight-ounce gloves this weekend.

“If you don’t think Dillon Danis is crazy enough to choke Logan Paul unconscious because he knows he’s gonna lose in court and lose all his money, he has nothing to lose,” Schaub said on his Thiccc Boy YouTube channel. “If Dillon Danis goes in there and goes, ‘Alright, I’m gonna box him. If for whatever reason I can’t land, it’s not going well, I’m gonna choke him unconscious just for the hell of it.’ If you don’t think Dillon Danis is capable of that, ya don’t know Dillon Danis. I could definitely see him doing that. 100 percent.”

It wouldn’t be the first time a Paul brother found themselves being choked inside the squared circle. During Jake Paul’s 10-round clash with ex-UFC star Nate Diaz in August, the ‘Stockton Samurai’ briefly locked in a guillotine choke on the ‘Problem Child’ before being separated by the referee.

“He does not play by your rules. Neither does Logan,” Schaub said. “So for you guys to think that Saturday night’s just gonna be a boxing match, I don’t think it’s far-fetched to say Dillon’s gonna do some wild crap. If it goes south, he’s gonna ankle lock him, choke him, and Logan’s security, they think they’re gonna be quick enough to get him… They’re not.

“That’s gonna go viral. Again, Dillon’s gonna ‘win’ on Saturday night, but he’s gonna lose all of his money in the court case and I guarantee you he’ll get sued for that. I don’t think Dillon cares. He’s a wild boy” (h/t MMA Mania).

Dillon Danis vs. Logan Paul goes down this Saturday with the main card kicking off at 2 p.m. ET on DAZN pay-per-view.
