Movsar Evloev has called out Bryce Mitchell for what would be an epic featherweight clash.

Evloev asked fans recently who they want to see him fight next, and it looks like he’s set his sights on fellow top-ranked featherweight Mitchell. Taking to Twitter, Evloev responded to a Tweet from Mitchell asking to fight anyone ranked above him in October.

Mitchell is currently the No. 9 ranked featherweight in the UFC. However, Evloev is ranked No. 10 right below him. Despite this, Evloev called Mitchell out for the fight, pointing out that, while he may not be ranked above him, nobody above him is undefeated like he is.

“i am right next to you. Nobody above you is undefeated. Lets go!”

Evloev has been competing in the UFC since 2019 and is undefeated in his mixed martial arts (MMA) career thus far. Holding a record of 16-0, Evloev has picked up wins against the likes of Nik Lentz and Dan Ige under the UFC banner.

As for Mitchell, the 27-year-old is also undefeated in MMA competition, and is one of the fastest rising stars in the weight class. Since joining the UFC in 2018, Mitchell owns victories over names such as Charles Rosa, Andre Fili, and Edson Barboza.

A battle of the two young undefeated prospects could certainly be on the UFC’s radar next.

What do you think about a potential fight between Movsar Evloev and Bryce Mitchell? Who are you picking? Sound off in the comments below!

UFC featherweight contender, Bryce Mitchell has claimed that he believes the United States government played a role in the recent school shooting in Uvalde, Texas – where 22 people were murdered by shooter, Salvador Rolando Ramos at the Robb Elementary School.

Mitchell, the current #9 ranked featherweight contender scored his fifteenth straight victory back in March of this year at UFC 272, defeating Brazilian striker, Edson Barboza with a unanimous decision victory.

Prior to the event, however, Mitchell, a native of Arkansas, claimed that he believed the United States government had played a role in mass shootings in the country in the past and questioned the Canadian government on their handling of the COVID-19 pandemic, as well as the vaccination protocol.

Bryce Mitchell claims law enforcement were urged to “stand down” during the Robb Elementary School shooting

Sharing his thoughts on the tragic school shooting in Uvalde, Mitchell, who claimed the United States government had colluded in prior mass shootings, urged police officers to stand down, rather than enter the elementary school and apprehend the Ramos – with the view to creating a reason to disarm and prevent citizens from owning firearms.

“The police officers sit outside for about an hour,” Bryce Mitchell told former UFC heavyweight, Brendan Schaub on The Schaub Show. “And they’re saying, ‘We don’t know if we want to enter. We don’t have enough armor.’ Those kids don’t have any armor, those kids are unarmed, and they’re kids. It is those officers when they swear in the office, it’s their duty to go in there and die for those kids on the spot. …”

“There should have been zero hesitation and I’ll say to you the exact same thing I got censored for on Ariel Helwani (The MMA Hour), the government is getting involved in some of these shootings and in this one, I believe they (the police) were ordered to stand down,” Bryce Mitchell claimed. UFC featherweight contender Bryce Mitchell is looking to surge towards title contention and hopes to do so at the expense of “The Korean Zombie” Chan Sung Jung.

Mitchell returned from a year-and-a-half layoff at UFC 272 earlier this year, squaring off against promotional mainstay Edson Barboza. Having defeated the likes of Charles Rosa and Andre Fili in his prior outings, the Brazilian represented a stiff step-up in competition for “Thug Nasty.”

To say that Mitchell passed the test with flying colors would be an understatement. After knocking the elite striker down on the feet early, Mitchell implemented his dominant wrestling, controlling and beating the veteran en route to a unanimous decision verdict.

Now at 15-0 and having added an established UFC name to his blossoming résumé, Mitchell is looking to take the next step towards the top.

With a #9 ranking comes a small pool of higher-placed featherweights for Mitchell and his team to choose from, with many also already booked to fight one another. But one name in particular has stood out to the 27-year-old.

During an interview with former UFC heavyweight Brendan Schaub, the Arkansas native proposed a “twister versus twister” matchup against two-time title challenger “The Korean Zombie.” Chan Sung Jung was the last man to challenge champion Alexander Volkanovski, falling via TKO in the fourth round at UFC 273.

“‘The Korean Zombie’ is the highest-ranked guy that I could possibly fight. And the reason that I believe he is (the best), is that he’s a two-time title contender,” said Mitchell. “He went and fought for the belt two times. There’s other guys that are up there. Ortega’s booked, Holloway’s booked, but there’s other guys that might be up there, but they didn’t fight for the belt twice.

“If you go in there and you beat zombie better than both champs (did), Aldo and Volk, I think it took Volk maybe two (four) rounds, so If I go in there and beat ‘Korean Zombie’ in the first round, that gives me grounds to fight Volk immediately,” added Mitchell. “I want to fight the zombie because he’s the best guy available… Hopefully he’s ready to go. It’s twister versus twister. If one of us twisters the other, that settles who’s got the better twister.”

Only two fights in UFC history have ended via twister submission. While Chan Sung Jung locked in the first against Leonard Garcia in 2011, Mitchell replicated the feat in his third Octagon appearance versus Matt Sayles in 2019.

It’s safe to say that not many people have secured a title shot in a greater fashion than potentially finishing “The Korean Zombie” with the move that he was the first to pull off. We’ll see if Mitchell gets the chance to do just that in the coming months.

Could Bryce Mitchell out-twister the UFC’s first twisterer?
