Former two-division UFC champion, Conor McGregor will feature in the video game series, Hitman – as a new character labelled ‘The Disruptor’ – allowing players the chance to take on the Dublin mixed martial arts fighter in the acclaimed open-world game.
McGregor, a former undisputed lightweight and featherweight champion under the banner of the UFC, was slated to make his return to fighting this weekend at UFC 303, taking on Michael Chandler in a welterweight matchup during International Fight Week.
However, confirming his withdrawal from the headliner, Conor McGregor revealed he had suffered a fractured toe on his left foot in the weeks ahead of the bout, and would be forced to exit the pairing – prolonging his three-year stay away from the Octagon.
Hoping to land a comeback fight at the end of the summer, potentially as soon as August – McGregor has added to his acting portfolio this week – following his recent appearance in the Roadhouse remake, starring in another video game.

UFC light heavyweight champion Alex Pereira says he’s not judging Conor McGregor for pulling out of his UFC 303 fight.
McGregor was supposed to headline UFC 303 against Michael Chandler in his first fight since he broke his leg in the trilogy against Dustin Poirier. However, just over two weeks from the fight, McGregor was forced to withdraw due to a broken toe, and since then, many fighters have criticized the Irishman for withdrawing due to a minor injury.
Alex Pereira defends Conor McGregor amid injury setback from UFC 303
“I cannot judge whether he fights or not because honestly, he’s in (sic) a point in his life where he secured himself on many different financial aspects,” Alex Pereira told ESPN. “Maybe he was fighting in a much different scenario than I’m fighting. Maybe if I was fighting in the situation where he is in life right now, I don’t know if I would do it, too. So, I cannot judge how bad it is.
“It is hard to fight with a broken pinky [toe],” Alex Pereira continued. “It is a risky decision, very risky decision to fight with a broken toe. I broke one before the fight, it was bad, in the fight I broke the other one. Maybe if it was the other one, I wouldn’t have been able to fight, so I cannot weigh that, but I made the right choice.”
Pereira is set to headline UFC 303 in a rematch against Jiri Prochazka as he looks to defend his title for the second time.
Following Conor McGregor being out of UFC 303, he took to social media to reveal the injury he sustained.
After McGregor said he broke his pinky toe in training, he released a lengthy statement saying he’s only going to fight when he is 100% healthy as he can’t make the walk to the Octagon injured anymore.
“I hit the toe off the elbow and broke the toe clean. It needs a few weeks that’s it. I couldn’t justify to my team, or fans, that I make the walk hindered again. That walk has been seen. This next walk has got to be, and it will be, 100% Conor McGregor. The fans deserve it and we are getting close. A slight lapse in concentration and a nuisance of an injury was picked up. That’s it. Take the lesson and move forward. I will get this back. I’ve got to,” McGregor wrote on Instagram.
McGregor is currently 22-6 as a pro and coming off back-to-back losses to Dustin Poirier.
What are your thoughts on Alex Pereira’s short-notice headliner at UFC 303 this weekend?
Former two-time foe of Conor McGregor, Nate Diaz has backed the Dubliner’s choice to withdraw from his UFC 303…
Former two-time foe of Conor McGregor, Nate Diaz has backed the Dubliner’s choice to withdraw from his UFC 303 return this weekend after suffering a fractured toe – citing the exit from the bout through injury as a “good idea”.
McGregor, a former undisputed lightweight and featherweight champion, ruled him from a return at UFC 303 this weekend during International Fight Week, seeing a bout with rival, Michael Chandler fall to the wayside after another injury setback.
Revealing x-rays of a fractured toe on his left foot – the same leg in which he fractured a left tibia and fibula on back in 2021, McGregor revealed he would be eligible to return at the end of August, if not September.
And welcoming the chance to take on Chandler in his return to the Octagon following a three-year layoff, McGregor’s quest to compete this year may be in jeopardy – with UFC CEO, Dana White claiming the promotion’s schedule for the annum was already “laid out”.
“I think it was just a minor thing,” Nate Diaz told MMA Junkie. “I think they made a bigger deal out of it than it is. Good idea. If I get f*cked up, I would like to push the fight back, too, but people are f*cking freaking out. I think I wouldn’t want to fight until I’m 100% ready to rock, too, because in the past I’ve done all kinds of sh*t I shouldn’t have done.”
“So, I think he (Conor McGregor) learned from experience and all these inexperienced people out there talking sh*t, just speaking for their inexperience,” Nate Diaz continued. “They’re going to have to deal with the criticizm until the fight gets done, but I think it’ll happen and it’ll all be good.”
What are your thoughts on Nate Diaz’s choice to back Conor McGregor’s exit from UFC 303?
On Sunday, reports emerged of assailants targeting multiple places of worship and a police outpost in Derbent and Makhachkala. Per CNN, at least 15 police officers and four civilians including a priest were killed in the attack.
According to the Russian state news agency TASS, the gunmen responsible for the violence included relatives of a regional official and former mixed martial arts fighter Gadzhimurad Kagirov, who had previously represented Nurmagomedov’s Eagle MMA.
As a result, all MMA gyms in Dagestani are to be investigated for “religious extremist elements” per a report from James Porrazzo on X.
“The FSB has announced through Dagestani media that ALL Dagestani MMA gyms are being investigated and INSPECTED for religious extremist elements – especially Eagles MMA, the gym of Islam Makhachev and Khabib Nurmagomedov, where at least one terrorist trained. Expect his to not be a “timid” campaign.”
Following the attacks and news of Kagirov’s involvement, Eagle MMA released a statement on Instagram, saying:
“Peace be upon you. We all witnessed yesterday’s terrorist act that left no one indifferent. On behalf of the school, we want to say that we are against any aggression and similar acts of terrorist. The management and coaching staff pay great attention to continue the work of the founder of our school, Honored Coach of Russia, Abdulmanap Magomedovich Nurmagomedov in educating our youth. Our school has grown and nurtured many worthy and educated athletes who represent our country and country worldwide.
“Our school is regularly visited by athletes from all over our country and all over the world, they go through a training and preparation phase for their competitions and upcoming fights. We would like to say that a participant in yesterday’s events has just completed a training kit for an upcoming professional fight and at the request of a teammate was allowed to practice at our school.”
Conor McGregor goes off on Khabib Nurmagomedov and the ‘fake lying rats’ at Eagle MMA
After making an initial statement of his own condemning the terrorist attack in his hometown, Khabib Nurmagomedov posted a follow-up, presumably once learning of Kagirov’s role in the massacre.
“May the Almighty disfigure the face of this creature and all its followers, who, under the slogan of freedom of speech, offend the feelings of more than one and a half billion Muslim believers,” Nurmagomedov wrote. “May the Almighty humiliate them in this life, and in the next. Allah is quick in calculation and you will see it.
“We are Muslims. We love our prophet Muhammad (peace and blessing of Allah be upon him) more than our mothers, fathers, children, wives, and all other people close to our hearts. Believe me, these provocations will come back to them, the end is always for the God-fearing.”
Given the intense history between Conor McGregor and Khabib Nurmagomedov, it should come as no surprise that the Irish megastar chimed in on all the unwanted attention being directed at the UFC Hall of Famer and his gym.
Aside from a post that refers to Nurmagomedov and his gym as “fake lying rats” and telling them to “rest in piss,” McGregor also kickstarted a couple new hashtags while sharing the Dagestani’s most recent statement.
“#Conorwasright #payyourtaxes #deadrats,” McGregor wrote in a since-deleted post on X.
“That’s typical rat behavior,” McGregor said on a Duelbits live stream. “Scurrying rat. So, he has bills to pay. Two main events or something he has in the UFC and he owes his bollocks to the Russian government. So, he’s gonna pay his f*ckin’ money that he owes instead of siphoning it out through to other countries. I’m ecstatic and delighted that that’s coming on top of him.
“We all will welcome him back into the fight game where he’s ran from. It’s a rat trap. The rat trap has been set. We’re excited about that and to see where it goes. We noticed a little rat scurrying on back. We see him back around. The fat rat we call him” (h/t BJPenn.com).

After waiting patiently for the last year and a half, what’s a few more months for Michael Chandler?
Originally, the former Bellator MMA champion was set to make his return to the Octagon on June 29 for a clash with former two-division titleholder Conor McGregor at UFC 303. Sadly, the fight fell through after McGregor broke his pinky toe, forcing him to bow out of the bout, leaving us with a light heavyweight championship rematch to headline International Fight Week.
Fortunately, McGregor’s injury should only postpone the fight for a few months.
Recently, Chandler took to social media, teasing that a new date was already on the way. Whether it’s for his long-awaited clash with McGregor or a new fight altogether for ‘Iron’ remains to be seen.
“Time well spent in progress is never time wasted,” Chandler wrote on Twitter. “New date LOADING. Walk On. See you at the top!”
Dana White continues to remain tight-lipped on rescheduled conor mcGregor vs. Michael Chandler fight
While backstage at the Bellator Champions Series event in Dublin on Saturday, Conor McGregor offered some insight into his injury and, more importantly, when we might see him back inside the Octagon. ‘Mystic Mac’ suggested that August or September is the goal.
He’s not ready. So why even talk about that? … I’m not thinking about Conor fighting anybody right now. I have no time frame, I have nothing. McGregor’s not even healed yet. McGregor’s hurt.”
