The New York State Athletic Commission (NYSAC) has fined three people following UFC 244 last week, per MMA Fighting.

Those being middleweight Kelvin Gastelum, his coach Rafael Cordeiro, and light heavyweight Corey Anderson. Gastelum was fined $1,000 for making contact with Cordeiro during his weigh-in. Also, Cordeiro himself has been fined $200.

Anderson was fined $10,000 for what the commission described as “unsportsmanlike and disorderly conduct” following his TKO victory over Johnny Walker in the featured preliminary bout. After his win, Anderson yelled at Walker before seemingly pushing the referee.

The NYSAC has suspended all those who have been fined indefinitely, until their fines have been paid in full. UFC 244 went down from Madison Square Garden in New York City. It was headlined by a Baddest Mother F*cker Championship fight between Jorge Masvidal and Nate Diaz.

Masvidal wound up winning the main event via TKO in the third round due to a Doctor Stoppage. As for the co-main event, Gastelum was defeated by Darren Till via split decision.

What do you think about the NYSAC fining Gastelum, Cordeiro, and Anderson?

Corey Anderson will likely not be receiving the next shot at UFC light heavyweight champion Jon Jones.

Earlier today (Thurs. November 7, 2019), Jones took to Twitter and revealed he’ll fight Dominick Reyes next, who Jones said is “definitely” the more dangerous of the pair. Anderson has offered his reaction to that comment already.

However, Anderson also spoke to Sirius XM’s Fight Nation, and addressed fellow top contender Anthony “Lionheart” Smith calling him out. Anderson said he has zero interest in that fight. (H/T BJPenn.com)

“I have no interest in fighting Anthony Smith. I called Anthony Smith out after I fought at UFC 232 (beating Ilir Latifi), and he answered back like two minutes back and said ‘No.’ Now this time he’s gotta wait,” Smith said.

Anderson noted that he’s unsure who he’ll be fighting next, but doesn’t see any other fight for him that makes sense except for Jones.

“I don’t see anybody in front of me. That’s the point. I’ve beaten Jan Blachowicz. I’ve beat everybody who’s fought for the title, I’ve beaten all these guys, just give me my due.

“I’ll let my manager figure out the rest of it. I’m just here to fight. I’m going to train and I’ll be ready,” Anderson said.

Much has been made about who UFC light heavyweight champion Jon Jones will be fighting next.

The two standout candidates are Dominick Reyes and Corey Anderson. Earlier today (Thurs. November 7, 2019), Jones took to Twitter to announce he chooses to fight Reyes next, calling him the more “dangerous” of the pair.

“Just finished a coaches meeting studying Dominick and Cory‘s careers. Established Dominicks definitely the more dangerous fighter. Beating his ass next”

It didn’t take too long for Anderson to respond to Jones’ comments. He Tweeted the following:

Ha. Okay bones. I wouldn’t wanna fight me either. @JonnyBones

Anderson comes off of a big first-round TKO victory over Johnny Walker in the featured UFC 244 preliminary bout over the weekend. As for Reyes, he knocked out former UFC middleweight kingpin Chris Weidman in the first round of their UFC Boston headliner last month.

Both men would certainly present interesting challenges for “Bones,” but it’s sounding like Reyes will get the nod first. Even UFC president Dana White recently noted that Jones vs. Reyes is the fight to make next.

“I mean, the fight that makes sense right now for Jon Jones is Dominick Reyes,” White said. “Just came off an impressive win over Weidman, and a lot of people saw it. Pulled good ratings on TV. It’s the fight to make.”

What do you think about Jones opting to face Reyes next instead of Anderson?

UFC light heavyweight contender Corey Anderson has seemed a bit disgruntled with his current position within the promotion.

Anderson comes off an upset TKO win over promising contender Johnny Walker. After the win, Anderson was quoted as saying that he wants a title shot against Jon Jones next, or he wants to be released.

However, speaking to MMA Fighting recently, Anderson decided to clear those reports up. Anderson said he’s more than willing to wait and fight the winner of a potential fight between Jones and Dominick Reyes.

“I have to clear that up,” Anderson said. “Media’s known for click-baiting and I think I know what reporter said that but he didn’t say the whole interview. The interview in the back they said ‘what do you want next?’ and I said I want a title fight. I want Jon Jones my next fight.

“Then they mentioned Dominick Reyes and I said 100 percent, Dominick Reyes has been doing his work, he’s put in his time. I wanted to fight him but he’s earned this fight, too. I’m in no rush to fight for the title right now. If Jon Jones wants to fight Dominick Reyes in December or January, that’s completely fine. I will take the winner of that.

“Then it went onto ‘but what if they try to take one of these new guys and bump them up in the rankings and put them in front of you — what if after Dominick Reyes, they push you to the back of the line again, what would you do?’. That’s when I said, if they’re going to do that to me, then release me.”

Anderson, 30, is currently on a four-fight win streak. Those wins include three decision victories over the likes of Patrick Cummins, Glover Teixeira, and Ilir Latifi. Following his victory over Latifi, Anderson put Walker away at UFC 244 this past Saturday.
