The main card of UFC Fight Night 101 started with a strawweight tilt between Seo Hee Ham (16-8) and Danielle Taylor (8-2). “Dynamite” was victorious thanks to her counter punching

Ham moved close early and Taylor threw leather to create some space. Ham landed a right hand that backed her opponent up. Time was called due to an eye poke to Ham. The action resumed quickly and Ham kept trying to close the distance. “Dynamite” was hit with a left hand counter. An overhand right landed for Taylor. An overhand left landed for Ham and a knot formed on the head of Taylor. Ham followed it up with a straight left. “Dynamite” was on her toes trying to avoid anymore damage. She countered with a kick high. The round ended shortly after.

Taylor connected with a right hand immediately in the second stanza. A counter left landed for Ham. She kept pressing forward. Once again, Ham found a home for her counter left. “Dynamite” popped Ham with a right hand. Taylor landed a stinging body kick. It appeared Taylor got into a rhythm in this round. She shot in for a takedown, but Ham reversed and was in full mount as the round came to a close.

The final frame was underway and the two traded leather. Taylor landed a body shot. A couple of right hand found the mark for Taylor. Some swelling formed below the eye of Ham. “Dynamite” connected with a high kick. Despite getting clipped moving forward, Ham’s strategy didn’t change. Ham stopped and called for time, but the referee refused to acknowledge it. Despite getting hit numerous times, Ham kept trying to call for time. Replays showed there was an eye poke that was missed, but Ham’s decision to keep calling for time was baffling to say the least.

The fight went the distance and the judges’ scorecards were read. Taylor had done enough to take a split decision win.

Final Result: Danielle Taylor def. Seo Hee Ham via split decision (29-28, 30-27, 30-27)

Moroz looked to keep her distance with her jab and some light leg kicks. She landed a counter right hand on Taylor. “Iron Woman” threw out a jab followed by an uppercut. “Dynamite” landed a leg kick. Moroz landed a left hand after a series of whiffed jabs. Taylor went for an overhand right as the round ended.

Moroz went high with a kick early in the second stanza, but it was blocked. A big right hand landed for Taylor, but Moroz seemed unfazed. “Iron Woman” connected with a jab. “Dynamite” missed an overhand right. Moroz kept pushing the pace, but her range continued to be off.

Early in the final frame, Moroz had her front kick blocked. A high kick got Taylor off balance momentarily. Taylor blocked a high kick from “Iron Woman.” Moroz popped “Dynamite” with a right hand as she charged in. Moroz stood busy and was the more aggressive fighter by the time the final horn sounded. Taylor’s only moment in the round was a takedown at the last second.

Two of the three judges scored the fight for “Iron Woman.”

Final Result: Maryna Moroz def. Danielle Taylor via unanimous decision (28-29, 29-28, 30-27)
