It seems the former 2-division UFC titleholder Henry Cejudo is itching to compete again and has his eyes set on three different champions. The former double champion last fought at UFC 249 against Dominick Cruz where he defended his bantamweight title in style after stopping Cruz with strikes. Following a devastating knee to the face, […]

In a 40-second video uploaded to O’Malley’s Youtube channel, ‘Suga’ says: “What’s up Dom, I heard you’re looking for a big fight. Who’s a bigger fight than me right now?”
O’Malley then went on to take a shot other former champions in TJ Dillashaw and Cody Garbrandt.
“Cory’s [Sandhagen] about to beat the EPO out of TJ. Rob [Font] is about to knock out Cody for the seventh time this year.”
O’Malley also took a shot at recently dethroned champion, Petr Yan and current champion, Aljamain Sterling.
“Petr’s disqualified for cheating, Aljo’s still knocked out from the knee.” O’Malley then ends the video with a question to Dominick Cruz.
“Who’s a bigger fight?”
This isn’t the first time Sean O’Malley has called for a fight with Dominick Cruz, the American has called to fight Cruz as the co-main event of the McGregor v Poirier 3 card on July 10.
Cruz has recently responed to rumours of a fight with O’Malley saying he isn’t interested in fighting one specific person and that there’s a lot of match ups for him in the UFC bantamweight division, one name Cruz has mentioned is former pound-for-pound number one, Jose Aldo.
Sean O’Malley currently has a record of 13-1 with his only loss coming to Marlon Vera at UFC 252, however O’Malley disputes this loss and claims he is still undefeated.
Do you think Sean O’Malley will fight Dominick Cruz and if he does, how does the fight play out?

Dominick Cruz isn’t particularly interested in fighting Sean O’Malley.
After O’Malley returned to the win column with an emphatic third-round knockout over Thomas Almeida this past weekend, Chael Sonnen revealed he received a text from Cruz stating his interest to fight “Sugar” next.
O’Malley would reciprocate that interest by calling for a fight with Cruz to be the co-main event of UFC 264 which is set to be headlined by a trilogy between Dustin Poirier and Conor McGregor.
That’s all well and good — until you realize Cruz never texted Sonnen that in the first place.
Speaking to ESPN’s Ariel Helwani (via Middle Easy), Cruz revealed he didn’t even text Sonnen at all and had no reason to call anyone other than the champion out given his status as a former champion and arguably the greatest bantamweight of all time.
That said, Cruz is not opposed to a fight with O’Malley.
“Am I interested in a fighting again? Yes,” Cruz said. “Do I need to call out one specific person? No. Am I saying no to one specific person? No.
“I could also see how that would be a matchup that people are talking about. You know, he feints a lot. He uses his range. He’s tall, he’s long, I’m tall. I’m long. I use feints, we have a lot of similarities. He’s an up and coming athlete, I’m sure he’s watched a ton of my fights and saw how successful I am. I see that he uses a lot of stuff, so no, I’m not opposed to it.”
There’s also talk of a fight with Jose Aldo, but as far as Cruz is concerned, he’s open to any matchup in the top 10 as he feels it’s guaranteed to be amazing to watch.
“Look at all the match-ups.” Cruz said. “I’m a fun fight to watch and I’m a tough matchup for anybody in the division. Everybody knows that. So you can match me up with anybody in the top 10 and it’ll be amazing to watch. That’s why there’s no specific reason to call out one person because I’ve got my hands full with anybody in the top 10.
“That’s a fact, anybody in the top 10, I have my hands full. They’re all world title holders. Casey Kenney was a multiple time world champion in [LFA]. So, all of these guys in the top 12, top 15, are world title holders in other organizations. Maybe not in the UFC, but they’re still champions. So I got my hands full with everybody there and whoever I get lined up with, I’m gonna definitely have to put in my work like I’m doing right now.”
Cruz is coming off a unanimous decision win over Kenney at UFC 259 earlier this month.
Jose Aldo is open to a fight with Dominick Cruz. Following his impressive unanimous decision win over Marlon Vera, Aldo was receptive to a fight with former bantamweight champion Cody Garbrandt after the latter called him out. However, Garbrandt ended up getting booked to face Rob Font instead. Another target for Aldo was TJ Dillashaw […]
Following his impressive unanimous decision win over Marlon Vera, Aldo was receptive to a fight with former bantamweight champion Cody Garbrandt after the latter called him out.
Now, Aldo is targeting a fight with Cruz in a matchup that many combat sports fans have wanted to see for ages.
“It’s a big fight to make, Dominick and me, because of our importance [in the sport],” Aldo told MMA Fighting. “We were both WEC champions and then came to the UFC as champions, so it’s a big fight to make.”
Aldo claims he has already asked the UFC for that fight as well and is just waiting for a response.
“[Garbrandt] asked for the fight and I agreed right away, but the UFC shot it down,” Aldo explained. “[Garbrandt] and I had already agreed, it was all set, and the UFC didn’t think it was a great fight, they wanted him to fight Rob Font.
“We ended the [Vera] fight last year and asked for Dillashaw and Garbrandt and now I have none. I’m on the dance floor without a dancing partner [laughs]. But we’ve been asking for Dominick Cruz for a while now and that’s a fight everybody asks for. We’re expecting to fight him. But I don’t know if it will happen, right?”
As for what he makes of Cruz, Aldo was nothing but complimentary of the former bantamweight champion who recently returned to the win column earlier this month against Casey Kenney.
“He’s a great fighter, has always had great performances,” Aldo added. “If it wasn’t for his injuries he would still be competing for titles at the top. Injuries have been an issue for him, he hasn’t been in the UFC what we were used to seeing from Dominick Cruz.
“I’ll always see myself as a title contender, there’s no escape. Becoming the champion is all I think since the moment I moved down to this division. I’m ranked No. 5 now and I want to fight more often. You can be sure that sooner or later we’ll grab that belt.”
