In 2016 Dana White was at the forefront of the campaign to get Donald Trump elected. The UFC President spoke at the Republican National Convention during a successful election campaign.

Four years later White has spoken again in attempt to get his friend re-elected. On Thursday evening he was invited on stage by the US President to give a speech during a rally in Colorado Springs. In front of thousands of supporters White focused on the character of Trump who to him is a loyal friend, he said.

“What’s up,
Colorado. How are you today?” White said. “So, I’m not a very political person.
I’ll start there. But let me say this: There’s things that I could tell you
about the President of the United States that you don’t hear on TV and you
don’t hear from other people. I’ve known this man for 20 years. We’ve actually
become even closer since he’s become the President of the United States. When
somebody becomes the President of the United States, you don’t expect to hear
from them again, OK? And I understand it. It absolutely makes sense. This guy
is so loyal and such a good friend. When I saw him today, when I met him on Air
Force One, the first thing he said to me is, ‘How is your family.’

“Good man, very loyal and a very good friend. I see a lot of things from Mr. Trump that the public doesn’t see, and the people who surround me every day see how this man treats me as a friend and other people he’s friends with. He’s a fighter, he loves this country, he’s doing great things for this country, and we gotta win this election again, ladies and gentlemen. Thank you.” (Transcribed by MMAJunkie)

Should UFC President Dana White be so publicly involved with politics?

United States President Donald Trump has responded to Conor McGregor’s recent message of approval.

As we noted, McGregor voiced his support for President Trump on Twitter last night, calling Trump one of the greatest the country has ever seen. This was in response to a Trump Tweet regarding record-low African American unemployment in the country on Martin Luther King Day.

“Phenomenal President. Quite possibly the USA [GOAT]. Most certainly one of them anyway, as he sits atop the shoulders of many amazing giants that came before him. No easy feet. Early stages of term also. Incredible. Congrats and Happy Martin Luther King Jr. day America”

Now, President Trump has responded to McGregor’s message, thanking him and congratulating him on his UFC 246 victory over the weekend.

“Congratulations on your big @UFC WIN!”

McGregor made his return to Octagon action, after over a year away from the sport, against Donald “Cowboy” Cerrone in the main event of UFC 246 on pay-per-view (PPV). The bout took place at 170 pounds and ended in 40 seconds when McGregor completely ran through the longtime UFC veteran.

Now, the Irishman must sit back and wait for his next opponent to present themselves, as matchups with the likes of Jorge Masvidal, UFC welterweight champion Kamaru Usman, or UFC lightweight champion Khabib Nurmagomedov have all been speculated. As for President Trump, he was very active in the mixed martial arts (MMA) community in 2019.

He received a tremendous amount of support from top-ranked UFC welterweight Colby Covington, who was welcomed to the White House back in 2018 after his interim welterweight title victory over Rafael dos Anjos. President Trump also sat in the crowd for November’s UFC 244 PPV event, which featured the BMF Championship fight between Jorge Masvidal and Nate Diaz. The President even congratulated Masvidal on his victory that night on Twitter.

And, of course, Trump has voiced his support for stars like Covington and UFC featherweight Bryce Mitchell on Twitter as well. It will be interesting to see if President Trump decides to attend a McGregor fight in 2020, as the Irishman is expected to stay very active inside the Octagon this year.

What do you think about Trump’s response to McGregor? Do you think Trump will attend a McGregor fight in 2020?

Conor McGregor has always been a controversial figure in mixed martial arts (MMA). Now, the Irish star is showing support for another controversial figure. This time, in the world of politics.

United States President Donald Trump has been very active within the MMA community this year. He has had a tremendous amount of support from top-ranked welterweight Colby Covington over the last year, who Trump welcomed to the White House following Covington’s interim welterweight title win over Rafael dos Anjos back in 2018. President Trump was also in attendance for UFC 244 this past November in New York City from Madison Square Garden.

Trump was front and center for the BMF Championship fight between Nate Diaz and Jorge Masvidal, which the latter won via third-round TKO by way of a doctor’s stoppage. President Trump actually congratulated Masvidal on his big win shortly thereafter. Trump also shouted out Tito Ortiz for his Combate Americas win over Alberto El Patron last year, as well as shouting out Covington and Bryce Mitchell on Twitter also.

Now, Trump has received an endorsement from former two-division UFC champion Conor McGregor. McGregor responded to a Trump Tweet tonight (Mon. January 20, 2020) that mentioned record-low African American unemployment in the United States. McGregor responded by calling Trump a “phenomenal” President, suggesting he’s possibly the GOAT.

McGregor is coming off a big return to Octagon action this past weekend in the main event of UFC 246 on pay-per-view (PPV). The Irishman took out Donald “Cowboy” Cerrone in just 40 seconds of the welterweight headliner after some nasty shoulder strikes, a head-kick, and ground-and-pound. Now, the UFC’s biggest star will sit back and await his next opponent, who could quite possibly be the UFC’s BMF Champion, Masvidal.

What do you think about McGregor voicing support for Donald Trump? Do you expect Trump to respond?

United States President Donald Trump has been very active within the mixed martial arts (MMA) community as of late.

Trump attended UFC 244 in November, has thrown his support behind UFC welterweight Colby Covington, and recently congratulated Tito Ortiz on his Combate Americas win over Alberto El Patron. Now, Trump has responded to UFC featherweight competitor Bryce Mitchell.

After Mitchell’s victory at UFC DC last week, Mitchell shouted President Trump out, offering to beat up his rival politicians. Now, responding via Twitter, President Trump has heaped praise on both Mitchell and Covington.

“ANTIFA will not be going after Bryce or @ColbyCovMMA anytime soon. They much prefer people who can’t fight back!”

It didn’t take Mitchell long to respond, thanking President Trump for the shoutout.

“Thank you Mr. President”

President Trump mentioned Covington, who will be headlining UFC 245 this weekend live on pay-per-view (PPV) from the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada on Saturday, December 14. Covington takes on Kamaru Usman for the welterweight championship of the world. “Chaos” has been seeking a welterweight title shot for some time now. He’ll finally get it against “The Nigerian Nightmare.”
