Gina Carano‘s opponent for her long-awaited return fight will be Sarah D’Alelio, a Washington-based fighter with a 4-1 record who goes by the nickname “The Monster.”
Sources with knowledge of the situation confirmed that both fighters have agreed to the bout, which will take place on June 18 in Dallas. Over the last week, D’Alelio’s name had been rumored as a possibility, but sources tell MMA Fighting that it’s now essentially a done deal, and that the matchup may be officially announced as early as next week.

More and more, it seems like the proposed superfight between reigning champions Anderson Silva and Georges St-Pierre will not happen. After St-Pierre’s title defense on Saturday night, UFC president Dana White seemed more interested in seeing the welterweight king next defend his belt against Nick Diaz. But even before that, there had already been another obstacle placed in its path: Yushin Okami.
The longtime UFC middleweight star had for months been engaged in a waiting game. After beating Nate Marquardt last November, he had been promised an opportunity to fight for the title, but when White sheepishly asked Okami to simply bide his time while the UFC figured out its next move, the future date seemed more of an open-ended question than an iron-clad lock. Yet just two weeks before St-Pierre was to defend his belt and set up the dream match, the UFC surprised many by announcing that Silva-Okami would take place in Rio at UFC 134.

Yves Jabouin‘s days of fighting at 145 pounds may soon be coming to an end.
Following Jabouin’s third loss in his last four fights at UFC 129, his head trainer Firas Zahabi said on Monday’s episode of The MMA Hour that it could be time for the exciting featherweight to consider moving down a weight class.
“I’m going to consider dropping him to 135,” Zahabi said. “That’s something I’ve talked to him about, and he could make 135 easily, I believe. He just doesn’t like cutting weight.
“You could see the great size difference between him and his opponent, and I’m a big believer in not giving away any advantages. I felt he gave away the size advantage, that’s why Garza was able to get some knees in and I think Yves’ striking is far beyond his opponent Pablo Garza. Garza is more of a jiu-jitsu specialist, but he is bigger and taller and had a weight advantage, so he was able to work his game.
“But I really believe Yves also has to go more to the drawing board and work more on jiu-jitsu and make some extra time for his jiu-jitsu.”
