Surprisingly enough, Cris “Cyborg” Justino did not add to her impressive list of first round victories Saturday night at UFC Fight Night 95.

But she didn’t suffer defeat either.

Justino bruised Lina Lansberg in the first before finishing her in the second round with vicious ground-and-pound, improving to 2-0 inside the Octagon. The reigning Invicta FC featherweight champion bested Leslie Smith earlier this year.

The co-main event featured Renan Barao earning a decision over Phillipe Nover, while Roy Nelson knocked out Antonio “Bigfoot” Silva in a featured main card bout.

However, Nelson’s win will be remembered more for his post-fight antics, as “Big Country” appeared to kick referee John McCarthy because he felt the stoppage was late.

Here are complete results:

Cris “Cyborg” Justino def. Lina Lansberg via TKO (strikes) at 2:29 of Round 2

Renan Barao def. Phillipe Nover via unanimous decision (29-28, 29-28, 30-27)

Roy Nelson def. Antonio Silva via KO (strikes) at 4:10 of Round 2

Francisco Trinaldo def. Paul Felder via TKO (doctor’s stoppage) at 2:25 of Round 3

Eric Spicely def. Thiago Santos via submission (rear-naked choke) at 2:58 of Round 1

Godofredo Pepey def. Mike De La Torre via submission (rear-naked choke) at 3:03 of Round 1

Michel Prazeres def. Gilbert Burns via unanimous decision (30-27, 30-27, 30-27)

Rani Yahya def. Michinori Tanaka via unanimous decision (29-28, 29-28, 29-28)

Jussier Formiga def. Dustin Ortiz via unanimous decision (30-27, 29-27, 29-28)

Erick Silva def. Luan Chagas via submission (rear-naked choke) at 3:57 of Round 3

Alan Patrick def. Stevie Ray via unanimous decision (29-28, 29-28, 30-27)

Vicente Luque def. Hector Urbina via KO (strike) at 1:00 of Round 1

Gregor Gillespie def. Glaico Franca via unanimous decision (29-27, 29-27, 29-27)

Conor McGregor Fuels UFC 205 Main Event Speculation: “Beg Me”

Despite tweets from Dana White and Khabib Nurmagomedov that indicate an Eddie Alvarez vs. Nurmagomedov UFC Lightweight Title fight as the main event of UFC 205, it appears that nothing is official yet regarding the main event for the promotion’s first event in the state of New York in November.

Ariel Helwani of MMAFighting.com is reporting that as of Wednesday morning, no fight had been signed to headline the UFC 205 PPV card, despite tweets from the UFC President and Russian lightweight contender on Tuesday evening, and an additional tweet from Khabib on Wednesday thanking the UFC for a “gift.”

Fueling speculation that Conor McGregor could be in the running for the headline spot at the first-ever UFC event at Madison Square Garden was a tweet posted by “The Notorious” one on Wednesday afternoon.

Much like the recent negotiations for UFC 200, and later UFC 202, it appears as though the Irish mega-star is using his heavily populated public platform to negotiate his way into a highly sought after PPV main event slot.

On his official Twitter page on Wednesday, the reigning UFC Featherweight Champion simply wrote, “Beg me.”

UFC 205 takes place on Saturday, November 12, 2016 from the world-famous Madison Square Garden arena in New York City.

UFC Announcing Gig Delays Daniel Cormier vs. Rumble Johnson 2

daniel-cormier-ufc-tonight-

It looks like the reason Daniel Cormier is insisting on a December showdown at UFC 207 for his next title defense when his rumored opponent, Anthony “Rumble” Johnson is calling for a November showdown at UFC 205 is because of non-fighting commitments that D.C. has lined up.

Apparently Cormier has signed on to join Jon Anik in calling the UFC Fight Night 96 event in Portland, Oregon in October. The show is scheduled to feature John Dodson vs. John Lineker in a Bantamweight main event.

“I don’t control the fights,” D.C. told FOX Sports. “I show up when they tell me. I said, ‘OK, we can fight, but it’s not going to be November.’ I’ve got this play-by-play gig and other things to do before I start training. You can ask anybody — when I start training, there’s no more ‘UFC Tonight.’ I just start training. I want 10, 12 weeks to feel confident about a fight.”

UFC Fight Night 96 is scheduled to take place on October 1, 2016 in Portland, Oregon, and will air live on FOX Sports 1 (FS1).

Well, if we are to believe UFC president Dana White, we will not be getting Eddie Alvarez-Conor McGregor at UFC 205.

When asked on Twitter late Tuesday night, White responded that Alvarez will be defending his lightweight title this November against top division challenger Khabib Nurmagomedov.

Alvarez called out McGregor to sign the contract on Tuesday with several social media posts, all of which were answered by Nurmagomedov. “The Eagle” even put a time-limit on on of his responses to Alvarez needing to sign the contract.

The test results for Nate Diaz’s UFC 202 fight with Conor McGregor last month are in — and no marijuana was found.

Although he wasn’t found to have any marijuana in his system, it doesn’t necessarily mean that he won’t be facing a potential sanction from the Nevada Athletic Commission.

Jeff Novitzky confirmed to MMAFighting.com this week that Diaz’s USADA tests for his UFC 202 fight last month are in, and the Stockton native passed them.

However, it’s worth pointing out that USADA is still reviewing Diaz’s use of cannabidol (CBD) oil in a vape pen at the UFC 202 post-fight press conference immediately after his fight with McGregor.

While his tests did come back clean, Diaz telling the media at the post-presser that he was vaping CBD oil could fall under the “self-admitted use” clause of the UFC’s Anti-Doping Policy with the UFC.

Featured above, via MMAFighting.com, is a video archive of Diaz’s UFC 202 post-press conference where he admits using CBD oil in his vape pen.
