Tristar MMA head coach, Firas Zahabi has shared his thoughts on last weekend’s much-discussed UFC 281 headlining stoppage, claiming newly minted undisputed middleweight champion, Alex Pereira could have ended the career of Israel Adesanya had referee, Marc Goddard elected against intervening.

Taking main event honors at the Madison Square Garden event, Adesanya suffered a fifth round standing TKO loss to Brazilian challenger and past kickboxing rival, Pereira.

Falling to an onslaught of strikes at the Octagon fence from Sao Paulo finisher, Pereira in the final round of their main event bout, Adesanya was wobbled with an uppercut and then felled with the latter’s patented left hook.

Returning to his feet in a bid to evade Pereira’s slew of follow-up strikes, Adesanya failed to evade the majority of the blows coming in his direction, with referee, Goddard calling a halt to the action, resulting in an immediate protest from Adesanya.

In the hours following the main event clash, Israel Adesanya claimed that he was not unhappy with the stoppage issued from Goddard. And according to Zahabi, the Nigerian-Kiwi should likely count himself lucky Pereira didn’t end his career in mixed martial arts entirely.

“(Alex) Pereira could have very possibly ended (Israel) Adesanya’s career if the referee did not intervene,” Firas Zahabi said on his YouTube channel. “Guys, if the referee did not intervene, a scissor knee was coming. Guys, the greatest scissor knee I have seen in all of combat sports ever, is Alex Pereira. …”

“It’s an incredible knee from a giant, who’s incredibly explosive,” Firas Zahabi explained. “He throws it incredibly quick. I thought when Adesanya was dazed like that, the knee was coming. If Marc Goddard did not step in, it could have been a serious concussion, broken ajw, broken orbital, fractured skull even. It could have been something that ruined or ended Adesanya’s professional career. So I’m very grateful that Marc Goddard stopped it.”

Israel Adesanya chases immediate rematch with Alex Pereira

Off the back of his undisputed middleweight title loss, Israel Adesanya maintained he will score an immediate rematch with Pereira in his Octagon return, regardless if a championship is on the line or not.

Firas Zahabi questions the cause behind Israel Adesanya’s ‘strange’ and ‘very suspicious’ gyno ahead of UFC 281

Ahead of his upcoming Octagon return this weekend in an undisputed UFC middleweight title fight against Brazilian challenger, Alex Pereira at UFC 281, undisputed champion, Israel Adesanya has been the subject of questioning from Tristar MMA head coach, Firas Zahabi – with the latter questioning the reasoning behind Adesanya’s well-documented issue with gynecomastia.

Taking main event honors at Madison Square Garden, Adesanya will attempt to earn his sixth successful defense of the undisputed middleweight title – as he draws prior kickboxing rival and former two-weight GLORY champion, Pereira.

Twice clashing with the Sao Paulo striker during their respective kickboxing careers, Israel Adesanya suffered a pair of losses to the former, including a thunderous, high-profile knockout loss to Pereira in a rematch in his native Brazil.

However, another subject which has constantly surrounded Israel Adesanya’s promotional tenure, is the supposed case of gynecomastia – most notable in his October 2020 fight against middleweight contender, Paulo Costa.

Firas Zahabi speculates the cause of Israel Adesanya’s gynecomastia

Weighing up the reasoning regarding Adesanya’s condition, the aforenoted, Zahabi failed to land on a definite factor, however, claimed the case was “very suspicious” to him.

“Guys, I find it incredibly strange,” Firas Zahabi said. “Like, for me, I’ve only ever seen – get’s get punched in the chest all the time, I’ve never seen a guy walk in a ring, walk out with an inflamed breast.”

“In my mind, there’s only one reason for this,” Zahabi explained. “There’s only one group that has this problem, there’s only one group. What other possibility could there be? People are putting pictures of him in his earlier years, he doesn’t have it, doesn’t have it, then all of a sudden, boom, he’s got it. And for me, I have no explanation guys. I have no idea. It’s very suspicious. Very suspicious to me.” (Transcribed by BJPENN.com)

World-renowned MMA coach Firas Zahabi isn’t happy with the way that his children are being taught in school in his native Montreal.

Zahabi is mostly known as the architect of many famous MMA fighters’ careers, including former welterweight champion Georges St-Pierre. He’s also coached former Bellator champion Rory MacDonald and others who have come through the doors at Tristar Gym in Canada.

But Zahabi took the time to dive into a different topic of conversation during a recent appearance on The 3Muslims Podcast. Zahabi didn’t hold back when discussing education issues in Canada and more specifically, attempts to feminize men such as his children.

“It’s become encouraged now to feminize men,” Zahabi said. “If they want to feminize their men, they can do it, but they aren’t going to feminize our men.”

When asked to explain his views, Zahabi provided an example from a recent story one of his sons told following a day at school on Valentine’s Day.

“One of my sons, on Valentine’s Day, they showed him a movie about one guy falling in love with another,” Zahabi said. “My kids, they’re open books—so my son is like, ‘I watched this movie and two guys were kissing each other so me and my friend were laughing and everybody got angry with us. They were telling me it’s normal, it’s normal.’”

Firas Zahabi Is Critical Of Modern Education In Canada

While it’s unclear what exactly Zahabi’s views are on same-sex couples, he appears to have strong feelings towards these ideas being taught in school. Zahabi is well educated, having earned a Bachelor’s Degree in philosophy from Concordia University, and has appeared on numerous well-known podcasts such as The Joe Rogan Experience.

Fans have been split on Zahabi’s stance, and it appears Zahabi won’t be in hot water for his comments.

Firas Zahabi, Georges St-Pierre

Firas Zahabi, coach of UFC Hall of Famer Georges St-Pierre, is accusing schools of attempting to “feminize our men.”

Best known for his leadership of TriStar gym and as GSP’s head coach, Firas Zahabi has always been an outspoken individual. He would continue this characteristic with high amplitude in some recent remarks made about the curriculum of his son’s school.

According to Zahabi, his son’s exposure to LGBTQ-related material is an example of schools, or society as a whole, attempting to emasculate men (transcription via Bloody Elbow).

“It’s become encouraged now to feminize men,” Zahabi said during an episode of The 3Muslims podcast (h/t r/MMAPoliticsAndCulture).

Zahabi would then share a story in an attempt to illustrate his point. According to the MMA coach, a movie featuring a homosexual couple was played in his son’s classroom. His son found humor in the situation, but Zahabi was unamused.

“One of my sons, on Valentine’s Day, they showed him a movie about one guy falling in love with another. My kids, they’re open books—so my son is like, ‘I watched this movie and two guys were kissing each other so me and my friend were laughing and everybody got angry with us. They were telling me it’s normal, it’s normal.’

“The teacher was telling my son, it’s ok [to be gay]. Well, that’s pretty weird, man. Kids haven’t even gotten through puberty yet. I send my kid to school to math, science, history, philosophy, ethics…the basics. Why are you showing them on Valentine’s Day, a story about a man with another man?”

Zahabi would then express that he and his family have no issue acknowledging the existence of homosexuals. However, when it comes to the Zahabi household, the MMA coach gave his son an assignment to personally deliver to his teacher the next time he arrives in that classroom.

“Now listen, there are gay people in the world. I tell my kids that there are gay people. You will see them. But we are not gay. That is what I told them, straight up, and I’m not ashamed. I told them ‘tell your teacher you’re heterosexual, and if he has a problem with that, to call me.”

Coach Firas Zahabi continues to run the TriStar Gym, as he has since he purchased the gym in 2008. Aside from GSP, some other notable fighters to train at TrisStar on a full-time basis include Rory MacDonald, Kenny Florian, Johnny Walker, and Arnold Allen.

Jake Paul Reacts To ‘Wanker’ Firas Zahabi Accusing Him Of Using PEDs

Jake Paul

When Firas Zahabi‘s PED accusations against Jake Paul were brought up in an interview with MMA Junkie this week, Paul explained that he hasn’t been tested for any substances ahead of the bout with Tyron Woodley this Sunday night.

Firas Zahabi claimed on his YouTube channel that the up-and-coming boxer was cheating going into the bout, where Woodley was not.

“I definitely think Jake Paul’s gonna be on PEDs,” Zahabi said. “It exists in the world of boxing just like it exists in MMA, and I don’t think Tyron will be on PEDs. I think Tyron will be totally natural. Does it make a difference? It absolutely does.”

However, when this accusation was brought up to the Youtuber, Paul responded: “My manager sent me that the morning it came out like, ‘Hey, by the way, Georges St-Pierre’s coach said you’re on PEDs,’” Paul said. “So I swiped up my phone – this is a true story on my mom’s life, she’s looking me in my eyes (right now) – I swipe up my phone, click Safari and type in, ‘What’s PEDs?’ Then I see it says performance-enhancing drugs. I texted my manager back, ‘Good thing I had to Google what PEDs are.’ But I look at it as a compliment. People are trying to do anything they can to discredit me and take away from this journey. They’re already making excuses for him when he loses.”

Paul explained that the Ohio State Athletic Commission hasn’t tested him once during the lead-up to his 190 pound bout this weekend. Paul did explain however, that if need be he’ll gladly take a test when asked to do so.

“Not yet. I think that happens the day of the fight or the day before the fight. But test me whenever.”

As for Zahabi, Paul thinks the renowned MMA coach is simply clout chasing and will be happy to hear him talking about him.

“Of course, he’s doing it to get clout. Look at it, four weeks later, it’s still getting brought up in the interview, his name gets mentioned, and then he gets some clout. I’m sure he’s a happy little wanker jerking off to these videos somewhere, getting all excited for the clout he’s getting,” Paul said.

This now begs an important question: has Jake Paul been tested for illegal substances?
