Look, we’ve been trying to think of a good way to tell you this. In the end, maybe it’s best if we just come right out and say it: UFC 119 isn’t a great PPV card. Your main event features two guys just trying to cling to life in the heavyweight division, while the rest of the card is kind of … meh. Not saying it’s terrible, but if you wanted to save your money for, say, UFC 121 and just follow the live blog for this baby, we’d understand. We got you, player. That’s what we’re here for. And if you’re some big swinging dick who has money out the yaz (even in these tough economic times) and you’re ordering the thing, but for some reason still feel compelled to follow along online – maybe as a respite from how empty and shallow your life really is, maybe just to toss out sweet zingers in the comments section — that’s fine too. We don’t discriminate. Except against fat people. And the old.

We’ll be going live just after 10 p.m. EST, 7 p.m. PST. Remember to hit refresh early and often to get the latest updates.

INDIANAPOLIS — Just two weeks past his 36th birthday, Mirko “Cro Cop” Filipovic is steaming towards a career crossroads. At one time probably the most devastating striker among the MMA world’s heavyweights, Cro Cop no longer engenders fear from those who face him. He stalled out in his first UFC run in 2007, and the current one has had its ups and downs.

His UFC 119 main event matchup with Frank Mir could prove his last chance for a last run as an elite world heavyweight. While the Croatian is still dangerous and worthy of respect for his storied history, it must also be noted that he has not defeated a world-ranked heavyweight since the night that was the defining moment of his career. Just over four years ago, Cro Cop knocked out Wanderlei Silva and battered Josh Barnett into submission on the same night to become the PRIDE Open Weight Grand Prix champion.

INDIANAPOLIS — Frank Mir will hold a 25-pound weight advantage over UFC 119 opponent Mirko Cro Cop when the two square off in the heavyweight main event Saturday night at Conseco Fieldhouse.

Mir, a former UFC heavyweight champion looking to rebound from his UFC 111 loss to Shane Carwin, checked in at 252 pounds for the bout, while Cro Cop — a winner of two straight — tipped the scales at 227.

Frank Mir weighed in 25 pounds heavier than opponent, Cro Mirko "Cro Cop" Filipovic at today’s UFC 119 weigh-ins, dispelling any rumors that he is over his loss to Brock Lesnar and he will drop to light heavyweight any time soon.

Making weight, Filipovic got the final stamp on his Indianapolis fight license, which made him breathe a sigh of relief after an eye injury he sustained earlier this week in training left the bout in jeopardy.

Shortly after he weighed in, Croatian news outlets who had been asked by the fighter to not release the photo until after he was given the go-ahead to face mir by the commission printed this shot of Mirko’s injury taken immediately after the eye poke occurred.

Amazing how much he has healed in less than five days.

(Amazing what the power of Stevia can do for healing.)

Every fighter on the card checked in at their respective weight limits, thus making all of their fights official for tomorrow night.

Check out the official weights and the replay of the weigh-ins after the jump.

One last look at UFC 119 betting odds and some props.

:: Heavy  line movement on headliner Frank Mir vs. Mirko Filipovic. Just a week ago Mir was around -220 on most sites, and he’s moved to anywhere from -260 to -285. If you still think Mir is the overwhelming pick to win this one as we do, grab the -260 at BetUs here.

:: For Antonio Rogerio Nogueira vs. Ryan Bader, the line has only slightly shifted towards Bader. If you like Nog, take the +150 at Bookmaker here. If you’re like the majority of the betting public and prefer Bader, take the -175 at Bodog here.

:: Very little line movement on the other fights. If you think Matt Serra still has gas in the tank, take his +120 here. And Evan Dunham fans get the best value with his -240 here.

As far as props go, check back for an update later today or tomorrow. Props have been listed but no odds yet.

And if this is your first time and you need a primer, here’s how to bet MMA.

Okay, so there’s no title on the line at UFC 119 in Indianapolis this weekend. There’s probably not even anyone who will emerge as a No. 1 contender in their division as a result of a win on Saturday night, at least not unless another major injury bug clears the path.

So where does that leave us? As far as the main event, we’re in ‘just for fun’ territory. Two former heavyweight greats with uncertain futures square off in a fight that is not terribly meaningful for the state of the division, but is still pretty interesting.

Is that worth your pay-per-view dollar? Depends on your perspective and your amount of disposable income. But if you’re on the fence about it, let me just remind you that Matt Serra and Chris Lytle are also on the card, and Serra didn’t bring a pair of big sunglasses to Indy with him for nothing.

Now let’s take a look at the betting odds for Saturday’s fights and make some hasty, financially ruinous decisions, shall we?
