It’s Wednesday and the majority of news is on November 12th’s UFC on Fox 1. Your Daily Dose of Awesome: New Trailer for Bas Rutten’s “Punk Payback”

(Props to IronForgesIron.)

For those of you who heard about Bas Rutten’s new series launching on FUELTV and thought it was some sort of Bully Beatdown rip off, then this new teaser trailer should ease you worries. Described as a “comedic, street fight survival series,” Punk Payback premiers Nov 2nd and from what I gathered is entirely devoted to continuing the awesomeness that we have been devoid of since “El Guapo” released his series of self defense videos. It’s safe to say that nothing has made me want a 3D television more than the possibility of seeing Mr. Rutten kick some 17 year old kid in the balls.

Check out an extended preview of the show after the jump.

Below, we have a little more in depth look at the show, and by “in depth” I mean clips of Bas headbutting and kneeing groins on a loop.

If you can correctly guess how many spleens and/or kidneys Bas breaks over the course of the first season, we will give the names of the poor men’s families so you can offer your condolences.  And maybe a shirt.

Video: This Jon Jones/Rampage Jackson Double Booking Stuff is Getting Ridiculous

Following suit with their dual appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live, UFC light heavyweight champion Jon Jones and trusty sidekick Quinton “Rampage” Jackson appeared together on FuelTV‘s Late Show the other night. Rampage broke the tension in typical fashion, by dry humping the closest object to him, in this case Parks and Recreation cast member Alison Becker. It really makes you wonder what Rampage does to keep himself entertained while backstage at all these media appearances. Watch your back, Bones.

Join us after the jump for a few highlights.

Rampage: [on Jones’ legs] “They look like a couple of burnt toothpicks”

Rampage: [on playing the underdog] “I’m glad to be the underdog. I was the underdog when I won the belt the first time. When I’m expected to win…like in my last fight I wasn’t motivated at all.”

Jones: [on rumors of a spy in Jackson’s camp] “Oh I definitely have a spy in his camp…to be honest it’s his chef, so I know what he’s eating, what time he’s eating, his PJ’s…”

Thank God we can finally put these rumors to rest. But now that Bones has admitted to going all Angelina Jolie in Salt on Jackson’s chef, the question is, when will he start unleashing the “stank bref” jokes on the master?

(Now if SF could just convince Batista to sign on the dotted line, the circle would be complete.)

It looks like Shark Fights has a new big draw.

According to a Fox Sports report, the Amarillo, Texas- based organization has signed former WWE champion Bobby Lashley to a three-year deal and he will likely make his promotional debut in November. The event, which will be aired on Fuel TV, will likely take place in Missouri where Lashley attended college.

Rebounding from the first loss of his  6-1 MMA career against Chad Griggs at Strikeforce:Houston last August by defeating John Ott at Titan FC 17: Lashley vs. Ott this past March in Kansas City, Lashley, who runs his own American Top Team affiliate in Colorado, says that he’s excited about the deal.

“It’s going to give me the opportunity to get some more fights under my belt,” Lashley said of the signing.

Shark Fights CEO, Bud Brutsman said that Lashley’s star power will undoubtedly translate to higher ticket sales.

“It’s going to be big for us. When you’re a little organization you need to make some noise, and Bobby is the perfect one to make some noise. There is nobody better than him right now that’s out there,” Brustman said. By signing Bobby were saying we’re willing to put our money out there to make it happen, and bring in and sign the bigger-name talent, and not just has-beens and nobodies.”

Does anyone else remember when Bobby called out Fedor and Overeem? That was awesome.

DVR Alert: Shark Fights on FUEL TV, It’s Showtime Amsterdam on HDNet

(The poster for tomorrow night’s “Shark Fights 16: Neer vs. Juarez” card — look for the broadcast soon on FUEL. Image courtesy of SharkFights.com)

As if you didn’t have enough MMA to deal with this weekend — what with Strikeforce Challengers tonight, Bellator 46 on Saturday night, and UFC Live: Marquardt vs. Story on Sunday night, not to mention Spike TV’s counter-programming efforts — we have another recommendation for your MMA viewing pleasure.

Last week, FUEL TV kicked off a weekly Friday-night broadcast highlighting Shark Fights‘s best recent events. Tonight starting at 9 p.m. ET/PT, they’re airing highlights from Shark Fights 15, which featured the controversial draw between Joey Villasenor and TUF 11 castmember Chris Camozzi, and Dave Branch vs. Jeremy May. Coincidentally, Shark Fights is also holding their 16th event tomorrow night in Odessa, Texas, featuring interim welterweight champion (and UFC vet) Josh Neer taking on Bellator/MFC standout Jesse Juarez.

Also? Tonight at 11 p.m., HDNet is airing the It’s Showtime 2011 Amsterdam card from last month, which was headlined by accused coke-smuggler Hesdy Gerges vs. Chris Knowles. In other words, this is one of the busiest weekends in the history of combat sports. Enjoy, and please stay hydrated.
