Former Strikeforce star Gina Carano has booked her first film role since being removed from the uber-popular Star Wars series The Mandalorian.

Carano was fired from the Disney+ series after she made a number of controversial posts on social media including one that compared being Jewish during the Holocaust to the current political climate in the United States, one that understandably did not go over well with the public and Disney executives.

Carano did eventually remove these posts from her social media, but it was not enough as Disney called the posts “abhorrent” and completely severed ties with her, removing her from the show and future plans that included her in a lead role in a spin-off series.

The new role Carano is taking on is a story surrounding a “strong-willed woman who survives an attempt by serial killer-trucker ‘White Knuckle.’ Haunted by her encounter and the cops’ inability to catch her tormentor, she partners with a trucker to end the killer’s reign of terror.”

The news of Carano’s new film was first reported by Deadline.

The role will also be Carano’s first project with the conservative website The Daily Wire, who partnered with her after she was fired from The Mandalorian.

“I’m completely ignited to be creating this thriller with The Daily Wire and Bonfire Legend,” Carano said in a statement. “I feel I am exactly where I want and need to be at this moment in my life; it feels as if I have wings.”

The current plans are for the film to be released in early 2022 with the movie being made available through The Daily Wire website as well as plans for a theatrical release.

Carano appeared in seven episodes of The Mandalorian in over two seasons before she was let go from the series earlier this year.

Former MMA fighter turned Hollywood actress Gina Carano was not fired from her role on The Mandalorian for being conservative according to Disney CEO Bob Chapak.

Carano was let go from the Disney-produced Star Wars series following a string of controversial social media posts.

Most notably, Carano compared being conservative in the U.S. to being Jewish in Germany during the holocaust.

#FireGinaCarano trended on Twitter and not long after Carano was let go.

Following her sacking the WMMA pioneer spoke to Ben Shapiro and made claims of bullying against Disney, she said.

“I’ve been through so much, and I’ve seen so much now, clearly, of the bullying that’s been taking place, and I saw it before. I’m not the only one that’s ever been bullied by this company, and I know that so deeply.

“… You know how boxers head-hunt sometimes and forget to go for the body? I feel like Disney or Lucasfilm or whoever it is, just certain people at that company…I feel like I’ve been being head-hunted.”

During a recent Disney shareholders meeting, Chapak spoke about firing Carano for the first time, he said.

“I don’t really see Disney as characterizing itself as left-leaning or right-leaning, yet as standing for values — values that are universal. Values of respect, values of decency, values of integrity and values of inclusion.

“And we seek to have not only, how we operate but the content that we make reflective of the rich diversity of the world that we live in.” (Transcribed by MMA Fighting)

Gina Carano believes she was another victim of Disney’s bullying.

The former MMA star was fired from “The Mandalorian” after a controversial now-deleted social media post where she compared Republicans in America to Jews in Nazi Germany.

Having made a number of controversial right-wing posts in the past, it didn’t take long for Carano to get her marching orders soon after before she eventually announced a new film project with Ben Shapiro of The Daily Wire.

Having claimed her voice would be freer than ever before at the time, Carano recently touched further on her firing.

“I’ve been through so much, and I’ve seen so much now, clearly, of the bullying that’s been taking place, and I saw it before,” she told Shapiro (via Andreas Wiseman of Deadline). “I’m not the only one that’s ever been bullied by this company, and I know that so deeply.

“… You know how boxers head-hunt sometimes and forget to go for the body? I feel like Disney or Lucasfilm or whoever it is, just certain people at that company…I feel like I’ve been being head-hunted.”

Carano went on to state that she knew her time would be up sooner rather than later — so she decided to go down swinging by sticking to her beliefs.

“I was prepared at any point to be let go, because I’ve seen this happen to so many people,” Carano added. “I’ve seen the looks on their faces. I’ve seen the bullying that takes place, and so when this started, they point their guns at you, and you know it’s only a matter of time.

“I’ve seen it happen to so many people, and I just thought to myself (…) ‘you’re coming for me, I know you are.’ They’re making it very obvious through their employees who were coming for me, and so I was like, ‘I’m going to go down swinging and I’m going to stay true to myself.’”

Former MMA fighter turned Hollywood actress Gina Carano has spoken of “utter shock” after one of her social media posts was branded anti-Semitic and ultimately led to her firing from the popular Disney+ series “The Mandalorian.”

The 38-year-old was let go from her lead role as Cara Dune after the hashtag FireGinaCarano trended on Twitter.

Carano had previously made a post that compared modern-day Republicans in the United States to Jewish people during the Holocaust.

“Jews were beaten in the streets, not by Nazi soldiers but by their neighbors…even by children,” Carano wrote Instagram. “Because history is edited, most people today don’t realize that to get to the point where Nazi soldiers could easily round up thousands of Jews, the government first made their own neighbors hate them simply for being Jews. How is that any different from hating someone for their political views”

Carano has now spoken of her surprise that these comments had been viewed by many as anti-Semitic.

“I was in utter shock and confusion when certain people said it was anti-Semitic,” Carano said in a written message to Bari Weiss. “Then, as I went to take it down, I noticed that the image was not the same as the one people were referencing. I was honestly confused: Should I take it down, or leave it up? I still don’t know the answer to that question, because taking it down only makes the mob attack you more.”

“The image for me was a statement that people need to stand together and rise up, stop being so manipulated by the powers that believe they know what’s best for you and play games with our lives,” Carano added. “My heart has only ever had ultimate respect and love for the Jewish community.”
