Boxing lineal heavyweight champion Tyson Fury has been teasing a potential jump to mixed martial arts (MMA) quite heavily as of late.

While the likes of UFC president Dana White don’t understand the aspiration, others such as Greg Hardy are trying to get their name in the hat to welcome “The Gypsy King” to the world of MMA.

Hardy, who co-headlines UFC Moscow against Alexander Volkov this weekend, took to Instagram to suggest he’d fight Fury in MMA or boxing. He even teased he’ll be inside the boxing ring “very soon.”

“The good news is @gypsyking101 I am gonna come to the 10oz world very soon my friend. So with all do respect (shout out Ricky Bobby) if you have the stones to take a whooping in the ring and octagon. The most Active heavyweight in the UFC will oblige. #imyourhuckleberry The Gypsy King Vs The King of War 2021″

Fury just wrapped up a brief run with the WWE, as he awaits Deontay Wilder to fight Luis Ortiz later this month. If Wilder is successful, he and Fury will have their highly-anticipated rematch in 2020. When Fury’s immediate boxing goals are fulfilled, it sounds like the Englishman wants to attempt to conquer the world of MMA after.

What do you think about Hardy calling out Fury?

Greg Hardy Will Not Be Allowed To Use Inhaler At UFC Moscow

Greg Hardy faces his toughest task yet when he faces Alexander Volkov in the UFC Moscow co-headliner — and he won’t be able to use his inhaler this time.

Hardy made headlines last month when in between the second and third round of his heavyweight fight with Ben Sosoli at UFC Boston, he used an inhaler to help with his breathing. He later claimed to have received permission from the ringside inspector.

But while that was the case, the use of an inhaler is not allowed in the first place, even if it is legal by United States Anti-Doping Agency (USADA) standards.

“In my world, in the USADA world, no [it’s not illegal], so that substance is allowed at all times, in and out of competition, as long as you keep it under a certain level,” UFC vice president of athlete health and performance Jeff Novitzky said recently (via MMA Fighting). “I think it’s 800 micrograms per 12 hours. Each puff of an inhaler is 90. Unless you’re puffing a dozen times, you’re going to stay under that.

“The other issue, obviously the [Massachusetts] commission issue, and I think we all saw on tape that he asked the inspector, who’s part of the commission, could he do this, and the inspector said yes. But my understanding (is) technically, you can’t do that, and the inspector was misinformed. I think because he used that substance, I guess against the rules of the commission is my understanding.”

As a result, Hardy’s unanimous decision win was overturned to a no contest.

He will look to erase memories of the whole incident when he faces Volkov in the co-main event of UFC Moscow this Saturday in what is a very short layoff. And Novitzky would confirm that no inhaler can be used this time.

“No, he wouldn’t be allowed to use it,” Novitzky added. “It’s not an anti-doping [situation]. It’s a commission rule.

“I think it would be OK and most commissions would be OK you took a puff in the back before you walked out, but I don’t think any commission allows any substances other than bottled water inside [the cage].”

What do you make of the whole inhaler incident looking back?

Derrick Lewis is back on the winning track inside the UFC’s Octagon after his decision win over Blagoy Ivanov at UFC 244 last night (Sat. November 2, 2019). With the win, Lewis has been getting a lot of questions about a potential fight with Greg Hardy.

The former NFL star, who has a history of domestic abuse, has been on Lewis’ radar for some time. Speaking to reporters after UFC 244 last night, Lewis said he wants Hardy out of the UFC, as he makes everyone else look bad. (H/T Bloody Elbow)

“I want Greg Hardy to get his ass out of the UFC,” Lewis told reporters. “He’s making everyone else look bad. So, we don’t need him to win no more fights.”

Hardy comes off what was originally a decision win over Ben Sosoli at UFC Boston last month. However, with Hardy illegally using an inhaler in between rounds, the victory was overturned to a No Contest. Now, Hardy has stepped in for an injured Junior dos Santos on short-notice to face Alexander Volkov in Moscow next weekend.

When asked for his thoughts on the matchup, Lewis said he doesn’t think “The Prince Of War” will be able to get the job done.

“They got on to him now, so I don’t think his ass can bring an inhaler to the cage to help him this time,” Lewis said. “So I don’t think he’ll win.”

Do you think Lewis and Hardy will eventually fight inside the Octagon?

Derrick Lewis wants to get his hands on Greg Hardy, and he could very well get that opportunity if the former NFL star pulls off a massive upset. Hardy is stepping in late to face Alexander Volkov in Russia after Junior dos Santos was forced out with an infection.

Hardy recently noted that he believes he can knock Volkov out since “pillow hands” Lewis did before. Speaking to MMA Junkie, Lewis gave his thoughts on Hardy’s last performance, initially a decision win over Ben Sosoli, which was overturned to a No Contest after his illegal use of an inhaler in between rounds.

Lewis admitted Hardy looked good in his fight, but then began to wonder if Hardy – who has a history of domestic abuse – hit his girlfriend the same way he hit Sosoli.

“I think he looked good, but as soon as the fight [with Ben Sosoli] ended, I started thinking about his (ex-girlfriend), I was like, I wonder if he had hit her like that,” Lewis said.

“I don’t know, man. I really don’t like guys like that because I grew up with a troubled past, and I saw my stepdad fight my mom just about every single day. I don’t even remember one day they didn’t go without arguing or fighting.”

Lewis would love the opportunity to fight Hardy next, as he told TMZ in a recent interview. However, he’d only be able to take the fight if Hardy pulls off the upset over Volkov, which “The Black Beast” doesn’t see happening.

“I’m guessing he doesn’t have that much oxygen in his head,” Lewis said“If he can get through Volkov, which I don’t think he would, then for sure I would like to fight him next.”

What do you think about Lewis wanting to fight Hardy next? Do you think the UFC will make that bout?
