Jose Aldo is not only targeting TJ Dillashaw.

Aldo returned to the win column as well as earned his first victory at bantamweight when he outpointed Marlon Vera over three rounds in the UFC Vegas 17 co-headliner last night.

Following the win, Aldo called for a fight with the former bantamweight champion in Dillashaw who will be eligible to return to action starting next month.

Aldo later clarified his callout was nothing personal either as he believes it’s a fight that simply makes sense for everyone.

However, should the UFC decide on a different opponent for Dillashaw, Aldo has three other names in mind.

“I think the category has new names coming up,” Aldo told AG Fight (via BJ Penn). “There’s TJ Dillashaw, Dominick Cruz, Frankie Edgar, who has a fight with Cory Sandhagen.

“If it isn’t (Dillashaw), it could be Dominick too, it could be anyone. We have to be busy, to draw attention to our category. Or even (Henry) Cejudo himself, if he comes back, we are willing to make this fight.”

The name that stands out in particular is Cruz — even if he is slated to face Casey Kenney at UFC 259 on March 6.

Cruz was the bantamweight champion at WEC as well as the UFC at the same time Aldo was featherweight champion in those organizations.

It led to many fans wanting to see a fight between the pair at some point. While both fighters are seemingly past their prime, it would still be a fascinating matchup even in 2021.

Then again, so would the other options Aldo mentioned other than Edgar who he has already defeated twice, albeit at featherweight.

If you didn’t think Henry Cejudo could get any cringier, guess again.

Ahead of the Fighters Only awards, Cejudo partnered up with the organization to release a new rap video called “Cringe Ass Henry.”

The former flyweight and bantamweight champion can be seen lip-syncing words to the tune of the “WAP” song by Cardi B where he mocks the likes of Alexander Volkanovski, TJ Dillashaw, Dominick Cruz and Sean O’Malley.

“Triple C” also made sure to poke fun at himself in the video where he mocked his own height among other things.

You can watch it below:

Cejudo retired earlier from mixed martial arts earlier this year after defending his bantamweight title against Cruz in the UFC 249 co-main event in May.

However, he has repeatedly hinted at a return — especially if it’s at a chance at becoming a three-division champion by facing featherweight king Volkanovski.

Following the recent clash for the Flyweight title between Deiveson Figueiredo and Brandon Moreno resulting in a draw, would be Flyweight title contender, and former Bantamweight champion Cody Garbrandt has set his sight elsewhere calling for a bout with former two-division champion Henry Cejudo.

Initially booked to face Figueiredo at UFC 255, Garbrandt has been teasing a move down in weight for some time, however, due to COVID issues he was unable to compete in that scheduled bout, and since the UFC moved on to match up Figueiredo with the number one contender in the division.

Garbrandt, however, appears eager to get back out in the octagon requesting a bout against Cejudo on March 6th, however, the former champion was not specific on the weight class, leaving that decision to Cejudo.

Back in May Cejudo competed for what appears to have been his last time, defending his Bantamweight title against former champion Dominick Cruz. After winning this fight via stoppage Cejudo announced he would be retiring from the sport and has since stated the only fight he would return for is a Featherweight title shot against Alexander Volkanovski.

Garbranndt most recently competed at UFC 250 securing a stunning knockout of Raphael Assuncao in the co-main event. Following this, he announced his move to Flyweight. Previous to this Garbrandt had been coming off back to back losses since claiming the Bantamweight title off Dominick Cruz.

Flyweight looks to be the new home for Garbrandt even suggesting that he get his shot at both Figueiredo and Moreno.

With their bout resulting in a draw it looks likely the UFC will move to rebook the fight which has been spoken of by many as a fight of the year contender and praised by Dana White as the best fight in the history of the Flyweight division.

Former two-weight UFC champion Henry Cejudo has taken yet another jab at bantamweight king Petr Yan and top contender Aljamain Sterling.

While Cejudo is retired from the sport, it is quite clear he is interested in a return to the UFC one day, hoping to capitalize on a big money fight with one of the champions.

“While I must admit, you’ve come a long way since being in B2K…after I knock you out you’ll have a Bump Bump Bump,” Cejudo wrote to Sterling.

“Guys, good luck in the ‘Battle of the Sidechicks’ ….Just keep my belt warm for me and don’t pawn it,” Cejudo added, targeting both men. “Merry Christmas.”

While we don’t quite know yet what the future holds for Cejudo, we don’t know Yan and Sterling will be linking up in the octagon in the very near future to finally fight for Yan’s Bantamweight title.

“Everything’s in force for the fight. It’s going to be postponed for about a month and a half, but everything’s in order,” Yan said on Instagram Live (translated by RT Sport). There were different problems, with the flight, with the visa, during training I flew away for a visa deadline, lots of factors. We decided with the team to move everything to next year, perhaps the card will be more suitable… Everything is good, training continues. In the past, I could fly out to battle without thinking about anything, I could take risks. Now I need to do everything right, so that afterwards there won’t be any, ‘this wasn’t right, that wasn’t right.’”

The Bantamweight division is certainly one of the most intriguing in all of MMA.

Former dual weight UFC champion Henry Cejudo got into it last night with one-time bantamweight king Cody Garbrandt about who is next in line for a shot at Deiveson Figueiredo.

In a recent interview with Ariel Helwani of ESPN, the current flyweight champion expressed his desire to “shut up” Cejudo by fighting him next if he manages to get by Brandon Moreno at UFC 256 this coming weekend.

‘Triple C’ took this as an opportunity to take shots at Garbrandt who was supposed to face Figueiredo at UFC 255 before being forced out of the bout due to catching COVID-19 and suffering several long-term issues due to the virus.

“Hey Cody Garbrandt wait in line! Looks like the #rentschamp still misses me more. Deiveson Figueiredo if you can tell me in English I may consider it. But until then, go get hooked on phonics.”

‘No Love’ was clearly irked by Cejudo’s taunts and immedialey called for a fight, he wrote.

“Why do we need to wait March 6th, I gave you the date you pick the weight. I don’t give a fuck about the title, if you proclaim yourself the king then don’t be a coward. Don’t run away when you are in your prime, the biggest fights lay ahead.”

“My legacy is written and will never be broken,” Cejudo responded. “You are what I call a appetizer before the main course. You simply have no juice for me playboy. Stay up, keep that chin nice and strong for me.”

Cejudo retired from the sport earlier this year after successfully defending his bantamweight title against 135lb legend Dominick Cruz at UFC 249. ‘Triple C’ has stayed in the limelight by calling for a fight with featherweight champion Alexander Volkanovski and seems destined to make a comeback in 2021.

Garbrandt snapped a three-fight losing streak last time out. The former bantamweight champion scored a knockout of the year contender against Raphael Assuncao before announcing his move to 125lbs where he was granted an immediate title shot.

YouTube celebrity turned professional boxer Jake Paul has ripped into former dual weight UFC champion Henry Cejudo who has pushed for a crossover fight with the 23-year-old as of late.

Post-fight Paul called for fights with SBG teammates Dillon Danis and Conor McGregor. He has also previously mentioned squaring off with Jorge Masvidal and Ben Askren, attracting a lot of attention from the MMA community including Cejudo who took to social media to call him out on Sunday, he wrote.

“I had no idea this dirt bag @jakepaul was a fanboy! Sign the contract and you might have your dream of meeting your idol Triple C! Ps I’m sending a digital autograph for you baby.”

The YouTuber quickly fired back, taking shots at the money Cejudo has earned from his decorated career in MMA, he wrote.
