Ian Garry's wife, Layla Anna-Lee addresses 'The top three lies' about her husband: 'I can't believe anyone would accept this'

Layla Anna-Lee, the wife of UFC welterweight standout Ian Garry went on the record to dispell some of the nastier rumors surrounding the relationship she has with her husband.

Since last year, Garry and his wife have come under attack by a slew of fighters and fans. Much of it began after it was revealed that the 40-year-old TV personality had written a book some years ago entitled How to Be a WAG. The 11-page scribe offered older women advice on how to date and marry young athletes and celebrities.

Discovery of the book sparked immediate backlash and was the catalyst for a slew of mean-spirited rumors about the couple.

Layla Anna-Lee

In an attempt to quell some of the vitriol being sent their way, Anna-Lee posted a lengthy video on social media and addressed three of the biggest lies being spread about her marriage to the 26-year-old fighter.

“Let’s begin with lie number one,” Anna-Lee began. “Ian took his wife’s ex-husband’s surname. I can’t believe anyone would accept this to be true, but the MMA community picked it up and ran a full marathon with it. In fact, some people are still running with it now gripping on with sweaty trembling fingers in order to justify blatant trolling.

“It’s not true. It never was true. Machado is my maiden name. We added our names together when we got married. It’s not that big a deal. Now that you know that it was a lie, you can kick yourself for believing it. Preferably in the face.”

Layla Anna-Lee and Ian Garry

Continuing, Anna-Lee addressed rumors that Richard Cullen, her ex-husband, and Ian Garry’s current nutritionist, lives with them.

“Lie Number two, his wife’s ex lives with them,” she added. “No, no, he does not. He never has done. Yeah, I wouldn’t want to know this lie was born out of the mouth of an MMA YouTuber desperate for clicks.”

Layla Anna-Lee Addresses rumors that Ian Garry is a cuck

Anna-Lee also addressed the ongoing comments from Sean Strickland and Colby Covington that Ian Garry is a cuck. Traditionally, a cuck is described as a weak or servile man. A more modern-day take defines a cuck as a man whose wife is sexually unfaithful. Strickland was the first to openly make this observation, but Covington has since jumped on the bandwagon.

Colby Covington and Sean Strickland

“Lie number three, Ian is a cuck,” she continued. Step up Sean Strickland, a man who is unlikely to be au fait with the Shakespearean English he unwittingly used when calling Ian a cuck. First penned in the story of Othello the word cuckold refers to the fear of a man who has been betrayed by his wife, Sean Strickland has been talking an awful lot about Ian Garry’s wife.

“I’ve been called a sexual predator, a pedophile, an abuser all by the man who allegedly suffered that exact abuse as a child growing up.

“In the Shakespearean classic, Iago tells Othello about Desdemona’s adultery and he blindly believes the rumors. It’s serendipity and not merely coincidental that Iago was lying. There was no truth to the story at all. Othello – like the crowd at UFC 298 – was cruelly misled by Iago’s jealousy and insecurities. Othello was never the cuckold. His wife was never adulterous. And notably, when the liars were exposed, Iago was taken away to be tortured and killed. Thank you, Shakespeare.”

Colby Covington shreds Ian Garry and his 'sloppy seconds' wife in vicious video response: 'She's a four at best'

The cringe war between welterweight standouts Colby Covington and Ian Garry continues.

The last time we checked in, ‘The Future’ had responded to Covington’s lengthy callout which featured a slew of stipulations including one requirement that Garry’s 40-year-old wife, Layla Anna-Lee, “get on her knees” and beg for a fight. Garry has since responded and somehow, managed to out-cringe Covington’s initial offering. Taking a page out of the WWF’s famed Attitude Era, Garry called for the two to compete in an ‘I Quit’ match with the loser being the man who first utters the words — you guessed it — I quit.

Ian Garry’s rebuttal was met with immediate backlash from fight fans, but it did its job in eliciting a response from Colby Covington who snapped back via a video posted on his social media channels.

Colby Covington Snaps back at Ian Garry’s ‘I Quit’ Challenge

“Greetings nerds and virgins, it’s America’s champ and as you can see, there’s nothing behind me,” Covington said. “Just like Ian Garry’s resume. We all saw your cringey a** video, Ian, and your “do what you’re told” line when you’re the A-side or Conor McGregor. Not Corner McGregor, you f*cking cuck. Ian, you said a lot of dumb sh*t, but there is one thing that I’ll agree with you on — Layla’s not a trophy. She’s a participation award at best which is fitting for your and your generation.

“You don’t dictate the terms here, cuck boy. You’re a Gen Z beta and the only time you do any dictating is when you’re on your knees for the nutritionist. You’re asking for gimmicks you don’t even comprehend, junior. An ‘I Quit’ match implies there’s no disqualification and no time limit. No commission would ever approve that. And besides, we already saw you quit in December before the press conference. You want to talk about what I’m famous for and my title fights? The only thing you’re famous for is parading around a nutritionist’s sloppy seconds like she’s Miss Universe. She’s a 4 at best”

Ian Garry's wife Layla Anna-Lee

“We all know you love to cuck it up, but you’re about to cuck your way out of this fight, junior,” Covington continued. “So here it is one last time. Agree to the stipulations. 1) Turn on the comments. 2) Record Layla begging. 3) Agree to the MyBookie promo and we got a fight. Otherwise, I’m fighting someone higher ranked this summer and you’re doing what you do best — sitting there and watching all the action.”

Whether or not we ever actually see Colby Covington and Ian Garry step inside the Octagon remains to be seen. From a rankings perspective, their meeting would undoubtedly make sense as ‘The Future’ finds himself sitting at No. 7 while ‘Chaos’ is clinging to his spot at No. 4.

Until then, we’ll wait and see what other gimmick matches Ian Garry can dust the cobwebs off of. Perhaps a good old-fashioned Boiler Room Braw. A Dumpster Match might be appropriate, or we could always give the infamous Kennel From Hell Match another shot.

How about a Layla on a Pole Match? The possibilities are endless.

Michael Venom Pages eyes UFC Manchester return fight with Ian Garry would be fun

Off the back of his impressive Octagon at UFC 299 earlier this month, welterweight contender, Michael Venom Page has welcomed the chance to make his sophomore outing in the promotion against the unbeaten, Ian Garry as soon as July – at a UFC Fight Night Manchester card.

Venom Page, a long-time Bellator MMA contender and one-time welterweight title chaser under the banner of the organization, made his long-anticipated UFC debut earlier this month against Kevin Holland.

And extending his unbeaten winning run to two fights, London Shootfighters staple, Venom Page turned in a one-sided unanimous decision win over the above-mentioned, Holland, which has seen him land at number thirteen in the official UFC welterweight rankings as a result.

Eyeing a summer return to the Octagon, Venom Page namedropped both the above-mentioned Garry, and Brazilian-American contender, Vicente Luque as ideal opponents for a comeback – on a UFC Fight Night Manchester card.

“I’m still on holidays, I need to get back and speak to my coaches properly,” Michael Venom Page told CBS Sports reporter, Shakiel Mahjouri. “We have to navigate what we think and speak to the UFC. There’s a big process that goes into it. But, if I could get on July, come out relatively unscathed again and jump in again in September, that would be a very happy year for me.”

“The likes of Ian Garry would be a fun fight, I guess,” Michael Venom Page explained. “Stylistically, the likeliness is it’s going to be quite explosive on the feet. (Vicente) Luque is another good fight. He’s a very explosive guy. A very powerful guy on his feet as well. That’s a good fight.”

Currently in the midst of his own rivalry, Garry responded to former interim champion, Colby Covington over the weekend, challenging the outspoken Clovis native to an “I quit” match – with the loser retiring from mixed martial arts.

As for Venom Page, the veteran striker was also on the radar of Covington, who described a clash with the slick kickboxing talent as an “easy paycheck” for him as he targets his own return to the Octagon.

Ian Garry Colby Covington

Up-and-coming Irish superstar Ian Garry has a challenge for Colby Covington, and it’s a little unusual for the sport of MMA, to say the least.

Riding a 14-0 streak, the undefeated Garry has now forged his way into the midst of the welterweight elite. His last outing saw him squeeze out a split-decision victory over the always-tough Geoff Neal, and now Garry’s sights are set even further up the totem pole and locked onto a potential fight with Covington.

Covington is no stranger to throwing shots, and ‘The Future’ has been an easy target for him. Most recently, ‘Chaos’ released a video in which he called Garry’s wife a “Gold-digging wh*re” and claimed since she wore the pants in the relationship, she could get down on her knees and beg Covington to accept the fight with Ian Garry.

Colby Covington’s scathing callout of Ian Garry

Garry would inevitably release a comeback and add his own stipulations to the mix, including his desire for the fight to be an ‘I quit’ match in which the loser retires from MMA.

Ian Garry responds to Colby Covington’s Callout video

“Listen here, Colby ‘Chaos’ Covington,” Ian Garry began, in his own response video. “You are in no position to tell me what I should be doing in life. You’ll do what you’re told.” The video then cuts to a montage of Covington’s title fights, showcasing all the times the referee has raised the other fighter’s hand, rubbing it in that ‘Chaos’ has never been victorious in a UFC title fight.

Ian Garry reveals he cried ahead of UFC 298 I just cried and thanked God

“…You’re not America’s favorite fighter,” Garry continued. What you are is a peak underperformer. You are the only person in UFC history to lose three world title fights. And you haven’t got a single win against anybody in the (welterweight) top 15 right now. So Colby, why should I fight you?”

I can think of one reason: I challenge you to an ‘I quit’ match. One of us has to say: ‘I quit’, and whoever says the words ‘I quit’ has to retire. Gloves off, center of the octagon, sayonara, my friend. I’m going to be the final chapter in your legacy of failure. I’m going to rid the UFC of Colby Covington for good, and I’m going to make MMA great again.”

Colby Covington urges Ian Garry's wife to 'get on your knees and beg for the fight' in shocking call out

Colby Covington is again fanning the flames of his fiery rivalry with Irish standout Ian Garry.

Though they’ve never actually stepped inside the Octagon, Covington’s intense back-and-forth with the rising welterweight contender has become one of the more intriguing feuds of the last year. Kickstarting in late 2023, ‘Chaos’ jumped on the bandwagon of trashing Garry and his 40-year-old wife, Layla Anna-Lee, who has been accused of being a “gold digger” and a “predator” by fans and fighters alike.

Colby Covington

Covington was far from the first to make such comments, but his consistent attack on Garry’s relationship has understandably caught the Irishman’s attention. Following his win over Geoff Neal at UFC 298 last month, Garry called out ‘Chaos’ in his post-fight interview, making it clear that he wants to be the man that sends the three-time title challenger into retirement.

Every time Garry does an interview, Covington’s name seemingly pops up, a consistency that hasn’t gone unnoticed by the Clovis, California native. Snapping back at Garry’s continued remarks, Covington delivered another WWE-style promo while boating in sunny South Florida.

“Ian Garry, you translucent cuck, you wanted my attention. Now you got it,” Covington said in a video posted on social media. “Everybody knows why you want to fight me, Ian. I’m the biggest star in the division. It’s big city, bright lights, and the most attention and eyes you’re ever going to have on you when if we fight.

“But everybody knows Ian, you missed your chance. You had your chance in December to step on the same stage as me and have a microphone and say whatever you want to say to me. But you were scared of what I was going to say to you. You got the sniffles and cried your way out.

“That was just a taste of what I can do to you, Ian. All I did was ask the 5,000 people in attendance how many people banged your wife. It’s not my fault every single one of them raised their hand. If you’re scared of words, what do you think it’s going to be like when you step into the steel cage with Chaos?

“You just went life and death with a guy who does this part-time and is a busboy at Outback. Dude serves blooming onions for a living and you went to a split decision with that guy. Now you want Donald Trump’s favorite fighter? That’s a big step up in competition, junior. You’re biting off more than you can chew, but you know what? I’m a giving man. I’m a kind man. I like to give everyone a chance. Everybody knows what’s in it for you, but what’s in it for me?”

Colby Covington lays down three stipulations to ian Garry and his wife

Continuing, Colby Covington revealed that he’s more than willing to step inside the Octagon with Ian Garry — so long as ‘The Future’ and his “WAG” wife agree to three stipulations.

“Let me teach you the art of the deal, Ian,” Covington continued. “Let’s come to a compromise. If you can meet these three stipulations, we’ve got a fight. 1) You and that gold-digging wh*re have to turn your Instagram comments back on and if you turn them off before the fight, you forfeit. 2) We’ve heard you cry and beg on your knees, but we all know that you’re not the boss. Layla, you’ve got 60 seconds to convince me why this fight needs to happen. So put your husband in the corner, get on your hands and knees, and beg.”

Covington’s third stipulation would require Garry’s wife to pose with Colby Covington to announce MyBookie’s Pick of the Week. Obviously, nothing more than a way to work his sponsor into the video, but cleverly done, if we’re being honest.

Ian Garry is yet to book a return to the Octagon following his latest victory, but ‘The Future’ is living up to his moniker, winning seven straight fights under the UFC banner and extending his undefeated MMA run to 14-0 with noteworthy wins against Kenan Song, Daniel Rodriguez, and Neil Magny.

As for Colby Covington, the welterweight gatekeeper has gone 2-3 in his last five with all three losses coming in title fights. His lone victories over the last five years have come against Tyron Woodley and Jorge Masvidal — two fighters who exited the promotion following a four-fight losing skid.

Ian Garry vows to finish Colby Covington in future UFC fight I'll beat the mouth off him

Surging welterweight contender, Ian Garry has laid an eye-catching prediction for his sought after fight with former interim division gold holder, Colby Covington – vowing to “beat the mouth off” the outspoken veteran in front of ormer United States president, Donald Trump.

Garry, who made his Octagon return over the course of last weekend, turned in a dominant, albeit uneventful split decision win over Geoff Neal, improving the Dubliner to 14-0 as a professional to boot.

And off the back of his victory, Portmarnock native Garry has landed at number six in the official welterweight rankings.

Ian Garry targets Colby Covington grudge match

Shooting his shot for his next opponent, Garry firmly has his sights fixed on a fight with former interim champion, Covington – vowing to beat the Clovis native in front of former president, Trump if they share the Octagon.

“I’ll talk to him (Colby Covington) when I beat the f*ck out of him in the Octagon,” Ian Garry told MMA Fighting. “If (Donald) Trump’s in attendance, I will drag Colby in front of Trump, and I’ll beat the mouth off him, and I’ll say, ‘This is what you’ve created’. Boom. ‘This is MAGA.’ I’m like, ‘It’s not more. Get rid of him. Get him out of the UFC.’”

For Covington, the MMA Masters staple has been chasing a fight with former title chaser, Stephen Thompson since his most recent outing back in December – which saw him falter in a third attempt to become the undisputed champion, dropping a decision shutout loss to the incumbent, Leon Edwards

Staking his claim for a potential Irish homecoming ever-since his eventual Octagon landing, Garry has since claimed that he may be too much of a “star” to make a return to Dublin, leading to outcry from fans to maintain the 26-year-old does not have ideas above his own station.
