World's Strongest Man Brian Shaw Backs Mike Tyson’s Killer Instinct to Beat Jake Paul

Iron’ Mike Tyson will soon face Jake Paul in the boxing ring as a professional bout booked for November 15. The heavyweight boxing legend Tyson has the support of World’s Strongest Man Brian Shaw.

World’s Strongest Man on Mike Tyson vs. Jake Paul

Brian Shaw is a retired US-born professional strongman and is considered one of the greatest strength athletes of all time. He won the World’s Strongest Man competition four times and became the first person to win both the World’s Strongest Man and Arnold Strongman Classic in the same year.

On the Jake Paul vs. Mike Tyson professional boxing match, he spoke in an interview with Overtflow, he explained:

“That’s an interesting one, man. I personally met and talked with Mike Tyson. The dude has a different switch and that’s the X-factor where could just see something switch in his brain. It’s another level. He’s a killer so if he brings that out, that’s a whole other level.  I’m also a Mike Tyson fan so I gotta lean that way.” [Ht Middleeasy]

‘Iron’ Mike Tyson is one of the all-time greats in boxing history. During the mid-1980s, he became one of the youngest champions in heavyweight record. With his devastating punching power, Tyson became a legendary cultural figure. He would eventually lose his titles to British-Canadian Lennox Lewis in 2002 and has not competed professionally since 2005. However, Tyson did compete in an exhibition match in 2020 that ended in a draw.

‘The Problem Child’ Jake Paul was a popular social media influencer who has been able to transition to a professional boxing career. Throughout his tenure, he has defeated former UFC fighters such as Anderson Silva, Nate Diaz, Ben Askren, and Tyron Woodley, among others. Most recently, he earned a win over ‘Platinum’ Mike Perry who stepped in when Mike Tyson got injured for their scheduled bout.

On November 15, streamed live on Netflix, Jake Paul will face the 58-year-old Mike Tyson at the AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas in a professional boxing bout.

Before making his long-awaited return to the ring on November 15, legendary pugilist ‘Iron’ Mike Tyson revealed his five favorite boxers from today’s crop of world-class talent.

Emanating from the 80,000-seat AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas, the former undisputed heavyweight world champion will compete in his first professional boxing bout in nearly 20 years when he meets YouTube sensation Jake Paul.

Mike Tyson

Before making the most anticipated comeback in the sport’s history, Tyson appeared on the Pound-4-Pound podcast with former UFC champions Kamaru Usman and Henry Cejudo to preview his showdown with ‘The Problem Child.’ Along the way, Tyson revealed who he considers to be the five best boxers in the business today.

“[David] Benavidez, ‘Tank’ [Gervonta Davis], Shakur [Stevenson] when he’s got that kind of guy, like if ‘Tank’ was fighting him. Something like that. Who else? Of course we’ve got [Terence] ‘Bud’ Crawford, and listen, I like [Errol] Spence Jr. too. I think Spence Jr. could come back and still get his title back. I really think so, I think Spence Jr. is an underrated fighter.”

Mike Tyson weighs in on usyk vs. fury 2

Interestingly, Tyson left Oleksandr Usyk off the list. In May, the Ukrainian became the first unified heavyweight titleholder in more than two decades when he defeated Tyson Fury via split decision in Saudi Arabia.

Usyk and Fury will run it back on December 21 in what may very well be the biggest rematch of the decade. Offering his take on the sequel scrap last month, Tyson suggested that ‘The Gypsy King’ played around a little too much the first time around.

“Hey, listen, Usyk surprised everybody. I think Tyson Fury played around too much,” ‘Iron’ said while speaking with Talksport.  “I think he needs to be taking fights serious and hopefully he’ll get a different result.”

Mike Tyson’s Kids Are Fans of Jake Paul—But He’s Ready to ‘End’ Paul’s Career Anyway

Mike Tyson’s kids love Jake Paul, but that won’t stop the legendary pugilist from putting the YouTuber’s lights out in front of 80,000 people.

On Friday, November 15, the ‘Baddest Man on the Planet’ will square off with Paul in what is expected to be one of the most-watched fights in combat sports history. While Tyson will be competing for the first time since a June 2005 loss against Kevin McBride, ‘The Problem Child’ is seeking his 11th career win after making a name for himself competing against a slew of past-their-prime MMA stars.

While Paul’s resume in the sweet science isn’t exactly well-respected among fans and pundits, Paul has a massive fanbase thanks to his work on platforms like YouTube. In fact, even Tyson’s own kids love Paul.

“I mean my whole f***ing family, everybody loves this little white motherf***er,” Tyson said while appearing on the Nelk Boys podcast.

In all, Tyson has seven kids; Mikey, 34, Rayna, 28, Amir, 27, Miguel, 22, Milan, 16, and Morocco, 13, and Exodus, who tragically passed away in 2009 when she was just four years old.

While Tyson’s oldest children were alive to see the tail end of their father’s iconic boxing career, none of them had much involvement in his run as one of the best boxers of all time. To them, he’s just dad.

“My kids don’t have too much involvement with my boxing career, I’m dad to them,” he continued. “There’s so many other celebrities they enjoy better than me but I’m dad” (h/t The Sun).

Mike Tyson has Zero Respect for Jake Paul’s boxing resume

Mike Tyson’s career is nothing short of legendary. Known as ‘Kid Dynamite’ in those days, Tyson KO’d his first 19 opponents en route to become the WBC world heavyweight champion. Not long after that, he unified the belts to become the division’s undisputed titleholder.

Mike Tyson

Overall, Tyson went 50-6 with 44 of his wins coming by way of knockout. So it should come as no surprise that ‘Iron’ has little respect for Paul’s modest 10-1 record.

“I’m just doing really well. I’m doing really well,” Tyson said. “I’m very grateful that I’m doing well. I’m just looking forward to the fight, really looking forward to it. Like when you think about it regardless of how old I am, this guy only has ten fights.

“He only has ten fights, if I can fight a little bit with my experience, he only has ten f***ing fights, okay? If I can fight ten percent of what I was, he only has ten fights, he couldn’t match that. And that’s being sincere. If I’m 10 percent, he can’t match it.”

Mike Tyson, Jake Paul

Ahead of his showdown with Jake Paul, ‘Iron’ Mike Tyson says he is ready for war in the ring, regardless of who is standing across from him. Jake Paul and Mike Tyson are booked for a heavyweight boxing match on November 15 and will stream on Netflix.

Mike Tyson Vows to Slaughter Jake Paul

‘Iron’ Mike Tyson was one of the most feared strikers in boxing history. With his impressive power, he won the vast majority of those bouts by way of knockout and collected world titles during the 1980s. The 58-year-old athlete has not been active in professional boxing since 2005 but had an exhibition match in 2020 that ended in a draw.

Mike Tyson vs Jake Paul

‘The Problem Child’ Jake Paul is a popular influencer who converted his YouTube fame into a successful career in the boxing ring. Along the way, Paul has defeated former UFC fighters such as Anderson Silva, Tyron Woodley, Nate Diaz, and others.

Jake Paul

Aligning with his infamous attitude during the 80s, Mike Tyson is coming into this match, at the AT&T Stadium in Texas, looking for blood. He is looking to injure Jake Paul or anyone else standing across from him; even if its his own mother.

In an interview with talkSPORT, Tyson explained:

“I see him running around and I have to try and catch him and slaughter him. Whoever is in that ring has a problem with me. If my mother stepped into the ring she has a problem with me. Don’t go in that ring if you don’t want that problem. He’s a good little fighter but he’s only had ten fights which is considered as an amateur in our field.”

Jake Paul (10-1, 7 KOs) will look to temper the fury of the 58-year-old heavyweight boxing legend ‘Iron’ Mike Tyson (50-6, 44 KOs) when they meet on November 15. This will be a professional bout and will go on each fighter’s permanent boxing record.

Mike Tyson vs. Jake Paul

While the Jake Paul vs. Mike Tyson match has built up major buzz, it hasn’t led to incredible ticket sales. The fight is scheduled for November 15, 2024, at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas, which is capable of hosting 80,000 spectators for this event, but there have been updates.

Jake Paul vs. Mike Tyson Ticket Prices

With a report from MMA Junkie, ticket prices for this heavyweight boxing match have recently dropped to surprisingly low levels. The official online ticket broker Seat Geek has been offering tickets for as little as $30, with hundreds more available at just $37. This is a stark contrast to the high-end tickets, with ringside seats listed at $50,000 each. Despite the low ticket prices, Seat Geek has not disclosed the total number of tickets sold so far.

This event had the potential to break seating records for the stadium. The event also had VIP packages listed in the range of $50,000 or $2 million.

Jake Paul

‘The Problem Child’ Jake Paul was able to transition his YouTube fame into a lucrative boxing career. The professional athlete has not defeated former UFC fighters such as Miek Perry, Anderson Silva, and Tyron Woodley, among others. But, Paul has struggled against career boxers such as Tommy Fury.

Iron’ Mike Tyson is one of the most popular athletes in history. With his tremendous punching power, he was able to collect heavyweight world titles in the 1980s. Ultimately, he would pick up losses at the turn of the century and would call it a career after his 2005 TKO loss. Mike Tyson has not been active aside from his 2020 exhibition match against Roy Jones Jr.

Amanda Serrano Set for $6 Million Purse in Taylor Rematch on Jake Paul vs. Mike Tyson Undercard

Amanda Serrano is set to secure a big bag for her highly anticipated rematch with Katie Taylor.

Nearly three years removed from their instant classic in Madison Square Garden, Serrano and Taylor will run it back on Friday, November 15 in Arlington, Texas for the undisputed super lightweight world championship. Their bout will serve as the co-main event to Jake Paul’s clash with legendary pugilist ‘Iron’ Mike Tyson inside the 80,000-seat AT&T Stadium.

The event will air live on Netflix around the world at no additional charge, a first for the streaming giant and its 280 million subscribers.

Amanda Serrano

Paul, who promoted the first-ever meeting between Serrano and Taylor in April 2022, previously revealed that the pair had earned around $1 million each for their critically acclaimed clash.

This time around, both women are expected to make significantly more money with a recent report in the Irish media revealing that Taylor would earn a career-high purse of just over $6 million. Interestingly, Serrano responded to the post writing, “But mine is bigger lol.”

Eddie Hearn couldn’t turn down Amanda Serrano vs. Katie Taylor rematch despite frustration with paul vs. tyson headliner

While fight fans are excited to see Serrano and Taylor go toe-to-toe once again, the same can’t be said for the evening’s main event.

Since it was announced, Paul vs. Tyson has faced significant scrutiny, much of it surrounding the massive 31-year age gap between the combatants. Even Eddie Hearn, the British boxing promoter who represents Katie Taylor, finds himself frustrated with Tyson’s return to pro boxing but later admitted that the money being offered to Taylor was too good to pass up, even if he’s not a fan of the main event.

Jake Paul vs. Mike Tyson

“We negotiated the whole fight because it was the right opportunity for Katie Taylor,” Hearn explained. It was the right offer and I want to thank DAZN for allowing us to have that sensical conversation to say ‘Look, let’s let her get the win here and then we’ll be back for a big fight’.

“But at this point in her career when we receive an offer like that, the right offer, we have to consider it. It’s got nothing to do with the main event. It’s just the right opportunity for my fighter, someone that we care about a lot, someone that deserves everything from the sport of boxing. Financially this was a big opportunity, we like the fight, she wants to be in the biggest fights out there. Simple as that” (h/t talkSPORT).

Purses for Jake Paul and Mike Tyson have not been disclosed, but rumors suggest that each fighter could bank upwards of $20 million for their role in what is expected to be one of the most watched fights in combat sports history.
