Dana White

Dana White has warned Jake Paul against fighting dual weight UFC champion Amanda Nunes as she’d literally put him in a coma.

Paul transitioned to boxing in 2020 and has looked impressive against poor opposition. In November he stretched his professional record to 2-0 by knocking out former NBA player Nate Robinson on the undercard of Mike Tyson vs. Roy Jones Jr.

Post-fight the internet celebrity issued a call out to Conor McGregor and his SBG teammate Dillon Danis. Paul has since been trolling pretty much every high-profile MMA fighter in or around his weight class but is yet to find an opponent for his next fight.

Meanwhile, his older brother Logan Paul has secured perhaps the biggest fight available. Despite having next to no boxing experience he will square off against Floyd Mayweather in an exhibition bout on February 20.

White gave a fiery response when asked about the Paul Brothers on a recent episode of the SHOUT! Buffalo podcast, he said.

“The answer to that question is, who gives a (expletive)? Neither one of those guys can fight. It’s all a big gimmick. Like I said in a (recent) press conference, there’s a market for that. If people are dumb enough to spend their money watching that (expletive), I don’t know what to tell you. Good luck to them. I (couldn’t) care less what that guy (does). I get it. He’s trying to make some money and is doing his thing. There are people who want to spend money on that. I’m not that guy.”

White previously threatened to set his female double-champ on the younger Paul brother who shied away from the fight claiming “no-one knows” who Amanda Nunes is. The UFC boss praised Paul for making the right decision by avoiding a fight with the Brazilian knockout artist who would do serious damage to him in the ring.

“Amanda Nunes will knock that kid out,” White said. “To even think about that guy fighting, he’s like, ‘I’m never going to fight a woman.’ You shouldn’t. You shouldn’t because she’ll put you in a coma. That guy is just some kid off the street. One of the big problems with him right now, he’s lucky there’s a pandemic. He’s talking smack about real people – real people that he could run into at a restaurant some night and things like that. This isn’t a real guy. This is just some kid on YouTube.” (Transcribed by MMA Junkie)

Do you agree with Dana White? Would Amanda Nunes put Jake Paul in a coma if they fought?

If Ben Askren needs any help for a boxing match with Jake Paul, he can always turn to Anthony Pettis.

Askren is reportedly set to face Paul in a boxing match on March 28. Although nothing is official, the former UFC welterweight hinted it was legit and that he had accepted the YouTuber’s challenge.

Of course, many observers — as well as oddsmakers — are picking Paul to come away with the win due to Askren’s lack of striking prowess.

However, Pettis is looking forward to it and has even offered his assistance to his former teammate.

“I asked him, ‘Yo, are you boxing?’ He was like, ‘Why wouldn’t I?’ He made some good points,” Pettis told SCMP MMA. “I definitely offered my assistance. I love to box, and that’s something I will do before my career ends, I will have a boxing fight, I will have some kind of go in the ring. And to see him get this opportunity man, it’s amazing.

“He’s one of them guys that’s had bad luck in the UFC, a little bad run with Masvidal and Maia. But for him to go out there and box against one of the biggest YouTube stars and potentially be able to shut this guy up, I’m looking forward to it.”

As for Askren’s striking, almost everyone knows it’s lacking, even “Funky” himself. However, one thing that cannot be denied is that Askren is a strong, tough and legitimate athlete as stated by him in a recent video.

And Pettis is in complete agreement.

“I agree with that,” Pettis said. “Ben’s one of the best wrestlers I’ve trained with. And I hit him with some crazy stuff and he’s one of the toughest dudes out here, bro.

“I was probably one of the biggest guys trying to get him in the UFC, because I was like, ‘This guy is world-class’. I was sparring with him on the daily and we’re not too far away in weight classes, but I knew what he can bring to the table.

“If you take away the wrestling and just give him gloves on the hands, that’s why I think Jake Paul is going for a guy like Ben, he has the name but he doesn’t have the hands, but he’s a world-class athlete.”

We’ll have to see if that’s enough to translate in a boxing match.

Former UFC champion and MMA legend Vitor Belfort has sent a scary call out to YouTube celebrity Jake Paul.

Belfort is currently preparing for his long-awaited and eagerly anticipated ONE Championship debut. Paul has transitioned to boxing in 2020 and looked good against extremely low-level opposition. The 23-year-old scored a highlight reel KO against former NBA player Nate Robinson on the undercard of Mike Tyson vs. Roy Jones Jr. in November.

In a recent interview with LowKickMMA Belfort was critical of Paul who has been chasing a boxing match with MMA newbie and BJJ wizard Dillon Danis, he said.

“He challenges guys that are really easy to beat. (Danis) has barely started his career in MMA. He’s a grappler, he doesn’t know how to strike. I’m sorry, but he’s weak in striking. So, find someone your size. When you call someone out, you call them out for 2 reasons: you can make a lot of money, or you can win. That’s how they call people out. Why he doesn’t want to call me out?

A few weeks later and Belfort has now issued a stern warning to Paul about how a potential fight between the two would end.

“Listen man. You want respect you come in to my world. This is my kingdom. Your kingdom is doing YouTube videos for this young generation.” Belfort said. “When I was a champion, you were born. You were just coming to this world. I’m going to put you to sleep. Put you on your knees. And listen, with all the respect that I have, not for you, but for your fans. I’m going to show them who you are. You are ‘Joke’ Paul. You’re not Jake Paul. You are Joke Paul. I put you on my lap. Let’s go to sleep baby.” (Transcribed by BJPENN.com)

Jake Paul

Jake Paul has shut down talk of a potential fight between him and UFC dual weight champion Amanda Nunes.

The YouTube star transitioned to boxing in 2020 and has had some success against extremely low-level opposition. In November, the 23-year-old scored a spectacular knockout win over former NBA player Nate Robinson on the undercard of Mike Tyson vs. Roy Jones Jr.

Post-fight Paul called out SBG teammates Dillon Danis and Conor McGregor. Since then he has attracted huge attention from the MMA world and is now on the verge of facing off against former ONE Championship and Bellator titleholder Ben Askren in March.

UFC boss Dana White previously expressed his frustration at Paul’s constant ramblings and even threatened to let the greatest female fighter of all time beat him up, an idea Nunes was certainly behind.

In a recent interview with TMZ Sports Paul explained why he has no interest in partaking in an inter-gender fight with the UFC double champ, he said.

“Nah, I wouldn’t fight her. Waste of time. No one knows who she is. There’s not a lot of hype there. Plus, there’s no history. I wanna knock out Dilon because we’ve been talkin’ s**t back and forth for 2 years, I’ve hooked up with his girlfriend, he’s all butt-hurt about it, there’s history there.”

Paul went on to say his ultimate goal is to fight McGregor and a fight with Nunes does not bring him any closer to that match-up.

“So, why would I waste my time doing some bulls**t like [boxing Nunes?],” Paul said.

A fight with McGregor seems somewhat far-fetched right now. The Irishman is currently preparing for a eagerly anticipated rematch with Dustin Poirier which is set to take place on January 23 at UFC 257. McGregor has also been linked to a fight with Filipino boxing legend Manny Pacquiao in 2021.

Ben Askren Opens As Underdog Against Jake Paul In Boxing Match

Askren Paul

Former UFC welterweight Ben Askren has opened as a betting underdog against Jake Paul.

It was recently reported that Askren and Paul would face off in a boxing match set for March 28. Although nothing is official just yet, Askren hinted it was legit and later explained why he accepts the challenge.

“I know you called me out after your fight with that bum Nate Robinson,” Askren said. “Listen, it’s a pretty simple choice. I’m gonna make a whole bunch of money to beat up a guy who is pretending to be an athlete because at the end of the day that is what you’re doing, and I know you may think I don’t have too many standup skills but also at the end of the day I don’t need to.

“I’m a world-class athlete, I’ve won NCAA titles, I’ve been to the Olympics, I’ve won belts in multiple MMA organizations and quite frankly, I am impressed that you’ve diluted yourself into thinking you are actually a fighter, that you are really tough, that you can really box, It’s quite impressive that beating up another YouTuber and beating up a boxer that looks like he’s never been in the ring before makes you good at boxing. So yes, Jake I accept. I will see you March 28 in Las Angeles and I will humble you like millions of people want to see happen.”

Oddsmakers don’t seem to agree, though.

As per Bet Online, Askren has opened as a +150 underdog while Paul is a -180 favorite. That means a $100 bet on an Askren win would earn you $150 in profit while you would need to bet $180 make a $100 profit on a Paul win.

These odds aren’t all that surprising.

While Askren is a world class athlete, he has never been much of a striker at all. When he did strike on the rare occasion — notably against another non-striker in Demian Maia — it wasn’t particularly effective and even became the subject of multiple memes.

Paul, on the other hand, has been training exclusively in boxing for a number of years now and has access to some of the best coaches such as former boxer Shane Mosley as well as sparring partners.

And while he hasn’t faced the best competition, Paul certainly showed he has legitimate skills even from his two professional boxing bouts.

However, those odds are certainly enticing for those who feel Askren will humble the younger Paul brother.

Are you surprised by these odds?

Jake Paul is continuing his tirade of riling up MMA fighters.

The popular YouTuber has been the talk of the combat sports world ever since his knockout of former NBA point guard Nate Robinson in their boxing match last month.

He has since called out Conor McGregor and mocked his partner Dee Devlin, fired shots at UFC president Dana White, attacked Dillon Danis with water balloons and is now reportedly set to box Ben Askren in March.

His latest work? A video posted Wednesday on social media where he impersonates — as well as mocks — all of the above in addition to the likes of Nate Diaz and Michael Bisping who have also had not-so-nice things to say about him.

You can watch it below:

While some of the accents are dodgy, one has to admit Paul has done a good job as a whole.
