YouTube celebrity turned professional boxer Jake Paul has suggested talks have begun ahead of a potential fight with UFC superstar Conor McGregor.

The 23-year-old called out McGregor in the aftermath of his second boxing win on the undercard of Mike Tyson vs. Roy Jones Jr. which took place this past weekend. Paul scored a brutal, second-round knockout victory over former NBA player Nate Robinson after previously taking out fellow YouTuber AnEsonGib inside one round earlier this year.

“I’ve been training my ass off for the past year. I’m taking this seriously,” Paul said in his post-fight interview. “There’s a long list of opponents that I want — Conor McGregor, Dillon Danis. I’m going to knock them both out.

Speaking to TMZ Sports Paul indicated that talks had begun between his team and McGregor’s about the possible match-up.

“My team is talking to his manager but that’s all I’ll say,” Paul said with a smirk. “No other fighter with this big of a platform is calling out McGregor. My dogs have more followers than the guy he’s fighting in January,” he added.

McGregor is currently booked to face off against Dustin Poirier in an eagerly anticipated rematch at UFC 257. The Irishman has boxed just once professionally – losing via tenth round TKO against Floyd Mayweather in 2017.

As of late the former dual weight UFC champion has been talking up his potential return to boxing. A fight with Filipino boxing legend Manny Pacquiao is in play for 2021. Both McGregor and Pacquaio are under Paradigm Sports Management who insist the crossover fight remains on the table despite ‘Notorious’ signing on for a January 23 UFC fight. Bellator fighter Dillon Danis is also under the same management group, so don’t be surprised if it’s he who faces Paul next.

Former UFC heavyweight and light heavyweight champion Daniel Cormier believes YouTube sensation Jake Paul would “beat up” submission specialist Dillon Danis in a boxing match.

Jake Paul who is now 2-0 as a professional boxer has been extremely outspoken about his boxing ability. Proceeding to callout numerous MMA stars such as Conor McGregor, Ben Askren, and of course Dillon Danis. The undefeated Bellator star has responded to Paul’s latest callout via Twitter telling him to “be careful what he wishes for.” Adding to a long list of back and forth comments between the two.

But UFC commentator Daniel Cormier has voiced his opinion on what would happen if we were to see Paul vs Danis in the boxing ring. While discussing Jake Paul’s recent victory over Nate Robinson on the DC and Helwani podcast, Cormier stated that he believed Jake Paul would beat Dillon Danis in the boxing ring. However, Danis was not happy with DC’s comments. Taking to Twitter and posting a picture captioned with “watch that fat mouth before I shut it.”

DC responded simply saying “Danis sit your ass down before I call Jake Paul for you!!!” Reminding the Bellator fighter that he believes Paul would defeat him

Dillon Danis has not competed since his submission victory over Max Humphrey. A bout that took place over a year ago in June of 2019. Injuries have kept Danis sidelined. However, could we see the known grappler face Paul on his return? Of course, in boxing as an MMA bout would likely see Danis submit Paul.

It is difficult to know if either Jake Paul or Dillon Danis are serious about facing each other. As the two are known for being very outspoken for the purpose of bringing attention towards them. However, if the pair are eager to meet inside the ring, why not make the fight? In a lot of peoples eyes they do not see Jake Paul as a professional boxer, with his two wins coming against low level competition. And Dillon Danis has been slated in the past for not improving his boxing skills and relying on his high level jiu-jitsu. The pair have an opportunity to silence the doubters, as well as make a large sum of money. With both individuals well known to the public.

Do you think Paul vs Danis will be made and if so who would be victorious?

Danis was called out repeatedly before and after by Jake Paul who fought former NBA basketball player, Nate Robinson. The MMA fighter was called out as well as Ben Askren, Conor McGregor and Jorge Masvidal.

Paul and Danis have a longer history of going back and forth on social media.

A knockout win for Jake against Nate Robinson has only added fuel to the fire and immediately after the fight, he called out Danis as well as his team mate and former UFC double champion, Conor McGregor.

Speaking after the fight, Jake said: “I’ve been training my ass off for the past year. I’m taking this seriously. I have a long list of opponents I want to fight. Conor McGregor, Dillon Danis, I will knock both of them out. There’s my brother (Logan Paul), Austin McBroom, I want to be in the sport for a long time. I’m in love with it. Why not?”

Dillon Danis, who is no stranger to an altercation on social media responded to the callout on Twitter by mocking Paul’s opponent and telling him to ‘be careful what he wished for.’

Danis then continued the mockery of Paul by tweeting a picture of him when he was younger in a costume.

Danis is 2-0 in professional MMA with both wins coming in Bellator. He was won both his fights via first round submission but has not fought since June of 2019 due to injuries.

Danis is a known grappler but he is open to the idea of boxing Paul.

Paul is yet to fight an actual boxer, both of his wins in the professional ranks have come against a YouTube and a professional NBA player.

Do you think Danis and Paul should fight and if they did who would win?

Jake Paul has a long list of opponents he wants to face next.

Paul remained unbeaten in his professional boxing career after an emphatic second-round knockout victory over former NBA guard Nate Robinson in the co-main event of the Mike Tyson vs. Roy Jones Jr. pay-per-view event on Saturday night.

Having previously outlined his desires to face a number of big names from the mixed martial arts world in a boxing ring, the popular YouTuber made sure to call out a certain few soon after.

“I’ve been training my ass off for the past year. I’m taking this seriously,” Paul said in his post-fight interview. “There’s a long list of opponents that I want — Conor McGregor, Dillon Danis. I’m going to knock them both out.

“There’s my brother, KSI on the line, Austin McBroom. I want to be in this sport for a long time. I’m in love with it so why not?”

It seems that Paul genuinely enjoys the sweet science and is here to stay as he believes he has now found his lane.

“For me, my whole life has been a fight,” he added. “So fighting — it’s something that I’m great at. Being from Ohio, a small town and making my way to Los Angeles to fame and success and just fighting for it. People never believing in me, people hating me — being one of the most hated people in the world. I have to fight through that, it’s not easy.

“So this is the perfect sport. I’ve found my lane.”

Whether he can match up against McGregor or even land that fight remains to be seen. However, there could certainly be interest in a Paul vs. Danis boxing matchup.

Ben Askren makes it clear, he would come out of retirement to box Jake Paul.

Paul, a famous YouTuber, is set for his second pro boxing bout on the Mike Tyson vs. Roy Jones Jr. undercard against former NBA’er Nate Robinson. It is a very intriguing matchup and in the lead up to the fight, Paul has called out Askren, Jorge Masvidal, and Conor McGregor.

For Askren, he appears open to the idea of accepting the callout and beating up Paul.

“Jake Paul wants to box me,” Askren told MMA Fighting. “I don’t know, I’m not a boxer but I could beat up a bum YouTube celebrity.”

Ben Askren says he also was called out by Logan Paul and laughed at that. However, after being called out more and more he realized it would be easy money to go out and beat up a YouTuber.

“It would be something to do because you could say I did it,” Askren said. “I don’t gotta go box f*ckin Roy Jones and get my ass whooped or nothing. But I could box some YouTube bum and get paid for it? What a tremendous livelihood.”

Whether or not Ben Askren and Jake Paul will ever box is to be seen, but it appears both men are interested in it.

Ben Askren fancies his chances in the boxing ring against YouTube star Jake Paul.

The former Bellator and ONE Championship welterweight titleholder retired last year after suffering successive defeats against Jorge Masvidal and Demian Maia. Since then he has undergone an operation on his hip but recently said ‘never say never’ when asked about a potential comeback fight.

Paul is preparing to face off against former NBA player Nate Robinson on the undercard of Mike Tyson vs. Roy Jones Jr. which is set to take place this coming Saturday (November 28). During the build-up to his fight, the 23-year-old has been talking about who he may face next. Paul believes his striking is already better than the majority of MMA fighters and called out several high-profile names including Askren.

On the latest episode of MMA Fighting’s ‘What The Heck’, Askren responded to the call out and spoke with confidence about his ability to outbox Paul, he said.

“Jake Paul wants to box me. I don’t know, I’m not a boxer but I could beat up a bum YouTube celebrity.”

“It would be something to do because you could say I did it,” Askren added. “I don’t gotta go box f*ckin Roy Jones and get my ass whooped or nothing. But I could box some YouTube bum and get paid for it? What a tremendous livelihood.”

‘Funky’ previously responded to Jake’s brother, Logan Paul who put out an open invite for a celebrity to come challenge him on the wrestling mat.

“Logan Paul came at me last year—I think that’s his brother or some sh*t,’ Askren said. “I don’t know what their deal is, but I think he wanted to wrestle somebody and I said, ‘We don’t have to do a full match, but I’ll pin you in under a minute. No problem, bubba.’ He obviously did not accept the challenge because he pretty much knows how that would go down.”
