Ji?í Procházka doesn’t seem to think Jan Blachowicz’s title as “undisputed UFC light heavyweight champion” changes the fact that it’s still Jon Jones’s division. Jon Jones’s status as the greatest light heavyweight of all time is hardly ever met with any resistance from historians of the sport, but he has not competed in the division […]

Aleksandar Rakic believes he’s not being mentioned on purpose.
Jiri Prochazka has been the talk of the combat sports world ever since his impressive second-round knockout win over Dominick Reyes in the UFC Vegas 25 headliner last night.
Such was his performance that observers called for him to get the next title shot while Jan Blachowicz even teased a fight despite the Czech Republic native being just 2-0 with the promotion.
Of course, one contender who is in the mix but is not being mentioned is Rakic who took to Twitter on Sunday to give his opinion on the latest developments — by comparing himself to Kamaru Usman.
“Man, I feel like @USMAN84kg felt in May 2018…To quote the great champ ‘I’M A PROBLEM!!’ Watch how none of these guys mention my name, ever. We’ll see…”
It is a bit odd that Rakic believes his position is similar to Usman.
While Rakic is 6-1 in the UFC and is on a two-fight winning streak, his last two wins over Anthony Smith and Thiago Santos were drab to say the least and in no way dominant like Usman’s pre-title victories.
It’s fair to say that most would even prefer to see Prochazka fight for the title over Rakic at the moment as well. If Rakic has a standout victory in his next outing, however, things can change.
Light heavyweight champion Jan Blachowicz certainly kept an eye on the UFC Vegas 25 headliner last night. Light heavyweight champion Jan Blachowicz certainly kept an eye on the UFC Vegas 25 headliner last night.
Jiri Prochazka met Dominick Reyes in the headliner and delivered one of the greatest two-round fights of all time as it was a back-and-forth war throughout.
However, Prochazka was the one leading the dance more and eventually earned the victory following a brutal spinning elbow that put the lights out on Reyes.
The performance was so impressive that many observers even called for Prochazka to get the next title shot over Glover Teixeira. And Blachowicz teased that prospect after the event.
“Hey @jiri_bjp. Me vs you in Cieszyn Prince vs Samurai Sword vs Katana #LegendaryPolishPower”
Of course, Blachowicz would clarify that Teixeira would still be next which is good news for the Brazilian. However, Blachowicz did make sure to point out that there was context to his original tweet.
“For all those who do not know the Slavic context of the previous post and its humorous nature.Of course, Glovera is the next contender. I always keep my word . #LegendaryPolishPower”
So what was the context of Blachowicz’s tweet?
“Cieszyn is a town right on the Poland-Czech Republic border. It has a lot of historical significance for both countries. Bottom line: Central Europe has two of the best light heavyweights in the world right now.”
If things pan out, we might just see this central European clash before the end of the year.

Dominick Reyes didn’t have the best 2020.
While he received plaudits for pushing Jon Jones to the limit in their light heavyweight title fight at UFC 247 — which many observers felt he won — he ultimately lost a unanimous decision and suffered his first professional loss in the process.
He would get his chance at the vacant title against Jan Blachowicz at UFC 258 in September only to suffer a second-round TKO defeat and a broken nose as well.
The last few months have naturally been tough for “The Devastator” who revealed that he went to a dark place following his defeat to Blachowicz.
That said, he sees it as a blessing in disguise ahead of his UFC Vegas 25 headliner against Jiri Prochazka.
“Second loss, first time ever being beaten,” Reyes said at media day (via MMA Junkie). “It was tough. It was a lot of soul searching, a lot of examining my camp, examining myself, examining my mindset. Yeah, it sucked, but it was a blessing in disguise because I was able to get back to what makes me, me. I was able to get excited again about fighting and enjoying the whole process of everything.
“… I realized how much toxicity is out there, and I let it seep into me, previously. It was just a learning lesson, you know? But then also, I did go dark. I went to that dark place and really examined myself and everything around me and really, really took a good look at things from a realistic point of view, and then I found the light, and now I’m back.”
Things won’t be any easier as Prochazka — a former RIZIN champion — is a finishing machine who enjoyed an emphatic debut by knocking Volkan Oezdemir out last year.
However, Reyes is excited for the opportunity to face him and get all the hype back with a decisive result.
“He was smart not coming to the UFC earlier because his skills weren’t developed,” Reyes added. “I still think they’re not good enough to beat me, so we’ll see. We’re going to see.
“I’m excited about the opportunity. It’s one of those things where this guy has all the hype that I once had, and it’s an opportunity for me to get it all back.”
