Sean O'Malley vows to stop Marlon Vera at UFC 299 I'll put him away inside three rounds

Jason Parillo the head coach of Marlon Vera is hoping his fighter will meet Sean O’Malley for the third time.

Vera and O’Malley had their rematch in the main event of UFC 299 on Saturday and it was a lopsided result as ‘Suga’ cruised to a five-round decision win. O’Malley won all five rounds and dominated the fight from start to finish.

Although the fight was lopsided, Parillo took to Instagram to call for a trilogy match and says without a clock, Vera wins that scrap.

“Couldn’t be prouder of my fighter [Vera]!” Parillo wrote on Instagram. “He competed for the UFC world title! Representing his country Ecuador and every hard working man that doesn’t give up! Chito 1-1 now with this kid! The kid got the decision and retained the title! Chito got the knock out in the first fight. With no clock? Chito goes to jail for murder!”

Vera did finish O’Malley in the first fight, but ‘Suga’ did hurt his ankle in the bout. In the rematch, he left no doubt that he was the better fighter, but Parillo is still hopeful to get a trilogy match against O’Malley.

Marlon Vera Accuses Sean O’Malley Of Greasing

Along with Jason Parillo calling for a trilogy match against Sean O’Malley, Vera has also accused the bantamweight champ of cheating.

Taking to social media, Vera claimed O’Malley had greased his hair which made him hard to hold onto and not be able to grapple.

“Who braid your hair @SugaSeanMMA you where grease to the bone I wonder how much gel they use?,” Vera wrote.

Sean O’Malley quickly fired back at Marlon Vera asking to see a picture of his face, which ‘Chito’ then took that was an opportunity to fire back at him.

“I’m fine black eye small cut the usual. How’s the liver? U do remember that sound u make,” Vera added.

With the loss, Marlon Vera fell to 23-9-1 and is 1-2 in his last three fights.

Former Coach Explains Why BJ Penn Is “Perfect” For Politics

One of BJ Penn’s former MMA coaches thinks the former UFC champion has the skills necessary for a successful run in politics.

Penn is running for the governor of Hawaii in 2022 as a Republican candidate. This is the first time he’s run for public office of any kind since he formally announced his retirement from fighting.

Running for governor of Hawaii for a first-time politician is no easy task, but one of Penn’s former trainers thinks he’s up for the challenge.

During a recent interview with The Schmo, Jason Parillo gave his take on how Penn will do in politics.

“I was extremely excited for him. It’s perfect for BJ Penn,” Parillo said of Penn. “BJ Penn, what people don’t realize at the end of the day, he pays attention to politics. He pays attention to history. He’s a history buff. We’d be in camps and he’d just be on the internet reading history, day in and day out, talking to us, ‘Hey Parillo, what do you think of this?’…BJ cares a lot, he cares a lot about Hawaii more than anyone. He loves Hawaii. He loves his state, he really is a man of the people out there. At the end of the day, who else is going to do it?

“For me, it gives BJ a fight,” Parillo continued when asked about Penn. “He’s a true fighter, no one can talk him out of not fighting over his last couple of years of fighting. He needs something to focus on and he’ll put in his whole heart into it, he’ll put all his energy into it and I think he’ll make some good changes and good progress for Hawaii. Because at the end of the day, he’s not really going out there doing it for money. BJ’s done well for himself and doesn’t need something to do financially, he wants something to go out and make a difference in Hawaii and you gotta really respect him for that.”

While Parillo’s assessment is notable, Penn has also been criticized for his alleged ignorance about politics in Hawaii. During a recent appearance on The Joe Rogan Experience, he failed to answer what the income tax is in Hawaii and some of his other positions on issues.

Penn is widely regarded as one of the greatest UFC lightweights of all time. He competed against some of the top fighters in the sport at both lightweight and welterweight and enjoyed multiple title reigns.

How do you think BJ Penn will do in politics?

Pump the brakes on talk of Cris Cyborg leaving the UFC.

The former UFC women’s 145-pound champion’s UFC deal is set to expire in March. In her last Octagon appearance, Cyborg was defeated for the first time in over a decade. After the fight, many questioned whether or not Cyborg would return to the UFC, especially with her contract expiring.

But Cyborg’s coach, Jason Parillo, shut those rumors down in a recent interview with MMAjunkie:

“We’re not going to leave the UFC,” Parillo said. “We’re going to stay there, plug away and get back the title that Cris had. She has the time and ability to do it.

“If we could get a fight between now and March, that would be wonderful, but I don’t know if that’s going to happen. The negotiations are obviously the manager’s job, and I just want the best for Cris.”

Cyborg was finished in just under a minute by 135-pound champion Amanda Nunes. She lost her featherweight title in the process. With the victory, Nunes became the first-ever female dual-weight champion in UFC history. After the fight, Cyborg called for a rematch with Nunes. That doesn’t seem very likely, as Nunes said she’d like to make her fellow countrywoman wait two years for a rematch.

UFC President Dana White doesn’t believe a rematch makes much sense. If she does, in fact, decide to leave the UFC, there are plenty of options for Cyborg. She could always pursue a career in boxing, which she has said interests her. Also, other promotions like Bellator or ONE Championship would be happy to add her to their roster.

It will be interesting to see how Cyborg’s situation plays out in the coming months.

Cris Cyborg to Amanda Nunes

Heading into 2019, Cris Cyborg had just suffered her first MMA loss since her debut in 2005 when Amanda Nunes shocked the world by knocking her out at UFC 232 in December. As her contract was coming to its end, many wondered if there would be a rematch or if Cyborg would even remain with the promotion.

In the following article, her coach sounded confident that she’d remain with the UFC. Nine months later, however, she signed with Bellator MMA and has been dragging Dana White and the UFC frequently ever since.

Former UFC women’s featherweight champion Cris Cyborg is nearing the end of her UFC deal. Cyborg’s deal will expire in March, and there’s a real possibility she could leave the promotion.

The former Invicta FC champ has teased a career in boxing. She could even test herself in other promotions such as Bellator MMA, or even ONE Championship. Cyborg’s last Octagon appearance was a shocking one, to say the least.

She co-headlined UFC 232 from California opposite Amanda Nunes. Nunes made quick work of Cyborg, knocking her out in under a minute. With the win, Nunes became the first-ever female “Champ Champ” in UFC history. Heading into the fight, Nunes was already the 135-pound champion. With the defeat, and Dana White shooting down an immediate rematch opportunity, many are skeptical about Cyborg’s future.

Her coach, Jason Parillo, was recently interviewed by MMA Junkie. Parillo seems confident that Cyborg isn’t going anywhere, and will remain with the UFC:

“We’re not going to leave the UFC,” Parillo said. “We’re going to stay there, plug away and get back the title that Cris had. She has the time and ability to do it.”

“If we could get a fight between now and March, that would be wonderful, but I don’t know if that’s going to happen. The negotiations are obviously the manager’s job, and I just want the best for Cris.”

What do you think about Cyborg’s coach saying she won’t leave the UFC?
