Khamzat Chimaev labelled a crybaby after attacking UFC boss Dana White over title fight

Unbeaten middleweight contender, Khamzat Chimaev has been branded a “crybaby” by former UFC lightweight contender, Josh Thomson, after the Chechen launched a verbal tirade on CEO, Dana White – claiming the leader broke his promise on a guaranteed title fight for him next.

Chimaev, the current number one ranked middleweight contender, most recently co-headlined UFC 294 back in October, landing a close, controversial split decision win over former undisputed welterweight titleholder and pound-for-pound number one, Kamaru Usman.

And claiming UFC boss, White broke his promise of granting him a shot at divisional gold next, Chimaev unleashed a verbal tirade aimed at the long-time boss.

“All these guys fight me, but I’m not the only one undefeated and undisputed,” Khamzat Chimaev said. “13-0, so I don’t know. They [the UFC] promised me after [the] (Kamaru) Usman fight, ‘You will for sure going to fight for the title’, and I win that fight. I don’t know what’s going on. I heard Dana White say stuff like, ‘I don’t think Khamzat is next for the title.’ That’s bullsh*t, man.”

“If you promised me something, you have to answer for your words,” Khamzat Chimaev explained. “I’m the guy who always answers for my words so I don’t care if it’s some president or something, like a king. If you give me your word, you have to answer for that. So, I grow up, when I give word, you have to answer for it… We’re doing that. I will be happy to answer for my word about killing them, man. So, we’ll see – maybe in the USA, it’s a different mentally.”

Khamzat Chimaev ripped by Josh Thomson

However, as far as the above-mentioned former contender, Thomson is concerned, Chimaev is sounding nothing more than just a “crybaby” with his outburst aimed at White.

“Right now, after listening to his (Khamzat Chimaev) interviews and all this, he sounds like a crybaby,” Josh Thomson said on The Weighin’ In Podcast. “I was promised this, I was promised that. Since when does Dana (White) give a sh*t what he’s promised? We’ve seen before, he’s promised fighters a lot. Look, you didn’t have a great performance against Kamaru Usman. Not a good look.” (H/T MMA News)

Bo Nickal rules out title fight with UFC star Khamzat Chimaev he's fought less than me

UFC middleweight Bo Nickal questions if Khamzat Chimaev deserves to be next in line for a shot at the 185lb title.

Since bursting into the UFC,  Chimaev seemed destined for big things with many predicting that he would hold gold at some point in his career. However, things have not worked out exactly how many thought – the 29-year-old has suffered from inactivity, health issues and weight problems.

With his win over Kamaru Usman at UFC 294, Chimaev moved that little bit closer to a title shot with rumours that he may even be next

Chimaev has even claimed that he was promised a title shot, but does a win over Usman, who was coming off two losses, moving up a weight class and took the fight on late notice really warrant a title shot?

Bo NIckal knocks back Khamzat Chimaev

Bo Nickal does not seem to think so, claiming that the Chimaev’s resume at 185lbs is weak.

“I would guess that they will do Adasanya, but they’re going to give Khamzat a title shot at some point,” Nickal said on his YouTube channel. “I don’t think that he’s going to have to fight again until he gets a title shot.

“Do I think he deserves that? No. I don’t think he’s fought a single 85er. He’s fought less 85ers than me, and my guys aren’t even in the roster anymore.”

Nickal is regarded as one of the best prospects in the UFC and if he continues oin his current trajectory, a fight against Chimaev could be on the cards. The former NCAA wrestling national champion has even said he envisions a Chimaev matchup in the future, even stating that he was ‘dissapointed to not get the call to be the UFC 294 backup instead of Usman.

“I was disappointed they didn’t ask me to step in there,” Nickal said on his YouTube channel. “I was expecting at least an ask like, ‘Hey, you want to to this?’ But, no. Just nothing. Nothing from the UFC. It is what it is.

“I’m guessing they didn’t want me to roll over into Abu Dhabi on 10 days’ notice and smash their boy in front of his home crowd or something. (H/T MMA Fighting)

Israel Adesanya warned about Khamzat Chimaev fight at UFC 300 we have to prepare

Former two-weight middleweight champion, Israel Adesanya’s head coach, Eugene Bareman has revealed that he and the former titleholder have been open to the prospect that they eventually stand opposite Khamzat Chimaev at UFC 300 in April – claiming a bout against the Chechen is one they must “prepare” for.

Adesanya, a former two-time undisputed middleweight champion, has been sidelined since he headlined UFC 293 back in September, suffering a surprising championship loss to Sean Strickland in the pair’s title showcase.

However, the City Kickboxing staple has been tipped to compete for the title in his return to the Octagon since his loss, in the form of a grudge fight against newly-minted gold holder, Dricus du Plessis – as soon as UFC 300.

Israel Adesanya linked to Khamzat Chimaev fight at UFC 300

Reportedly available for the April showdown on the monumental card against the South African, Adesanya’s coach admitted the team must prepare for the possibility of a grudge bout against unbeaten contender, Chimaev – claiming Adesanya’s future is at the behest of the UFC solely.

“Obviously, Izzy (Israel Adesanya) – Dricus (du Plessis) is one of those fights, Israel is one of the their [the UFC’s] biggest stars, Dricus is a new up and comer so that certainly has some appeal ut whether it’s then or that opportunity is still there later, really that’s not in our court,” Bareman told Sky Sports New Zealand.

“What we know is we have to prepare for that potential fight, we have to prepare for a potential fight with (Sean) Strickland, we have to prepare for a potential fight with Khamzat (Chimaev) because those are the most obvious options on the table and the timing,” Bareman explained. “It’s not up to us.” (H/T MMA News)

Khamzat Chimaev rips Sean Strickland ask him who always beat him in the gym every day UFC

Growing increasingly frustrated at an apparently fleeting title shot promise from the promotion, Khamzat Chimaev has ripped an attack on former titleholder, Sean Strickland at UFC 297 – pointing to prior dominant gym wins over the recent main event star.

Chimaev, the current number nine ranked middleweight contender, most recently turned in a close, majority decision win over former undisputed welterweight champion and previous pound-for-pound number one, Kamaru Usman in the pair’s short-notice co-main event clash at UFC 294 back in October.

And initially slated to make his return on the Abu Dhabi, UAE card in an officially-billed title-eliminator fight against former title challenger, Paulo Costa by UFC CEO, Dana White, Chimaev has since gone scorched-earth on the promotional boss, claiming he broke a promise of giving him a title fight in his return to the Octagon.

“All these guys fight me, but I’m not the only one undefeated and undisputed,” Khamzat Chimaev told ESPN MMA.

So, we’ll see – maybe in the USA, it’s a different mentally.”

Sean Strickland receives flak from Khamzat Chimaev

And reflecting on Strickland’s loss to newly-crowned champion, Dricus du Plessis and the former’s reluctance to offer him a title fight if he won at UFC 297 last weekend, Chimaev pointed to apparent dominant gym wins over the former champion.

“Ask that guy (Sean Strickland), who was beating him up every day in the gym,” Khamzat Chimaev explained. “How many times I submit that guy? How many times I beat him up. He went to his coach, ‘Please, tell the guy, man, go easy, go easy.’ And the guy said I went crazy with some guy who was 166 [pounds] or this sh*t. He’s lying, man. He’s trying to say I am this, I am that. He’s trying to be some macho man. You are not a macho man.”

Khamzat Chimaev rips Dana White after UFC 297 you promised me a title fight

Unbeaten middleweight contender, Khamzat Chimaev has blasted promotional CEO, Dana White following UFC 297 over the weekend, claiming the former “promised” him a shot at divisional gold next, and any talk of another challenger to Dricus du Plessis is simply “bullsh*t”.

Chimaev, the current number nine ranked middleweight contender, most recently turned in a close, majority decision win over former undisputed welterweight champion and prior pound-for-pound number one, Kamaru Usman – improving his unbeaten record to 13-0 as a professional to boot.

Khamzat Chimaev frustrated with UFC boss, Dana White

Initially billed to fight former title chaser, Paulo Costa in an official billed title eliminator at UFC 294 until the Brazilian was forced from the bout due to a bursitis injury, Chimaev has hit out at promotional boss, White, for seemingly breaking a “promise” he made of guaranteeing him a title fight after his win over Usman.

“All these guys fight me, but I’m not the only one undefeated and undisputed,” Khamzat Chimaev told ESPN MMA. “13-0, so I don’t know. They [the UFC] promised me after [the] (Kamaru) Usman fight, ‘You will for sure going to fight for the title’, and I win that fight. I don’t know what’s going on.
