Bobby Nash has been given a chance to compete in the UFC, replacing Yancy Medeiros in a bout with Li Jingliang at UFC on FOX 23.
Nash owns a record of 8-1 and has fought for the likes of Resurrection Fighting Alliance and Hoosier Fight Club. He most recently stopped Lewis Gonzalez for his sixth consecutive win.
Jingliang (11-4) has won three of five inside the Octagon.
UFC on FOX 23 takes place January 28 from the Pepsi Center in Denver. The main event features Julianna Pena vs. Valentina Shevchenko in a female bantamweight title-eliminator.

Jingliang, a 28-year-old from China, improved to 11-4 in July when he knocked out Anton Zafir in the first round. The win was his third inside the Octagon, pushing his promotional record to 3-2.
Medeiros (13-4) is looking to follow in the footsteps of fellow Hawaiians BJ Penn and Max Holloway and work his way into the elite in his class. He is 4-2 over his last six, including three submissions vs. Spen Spencer, Joe Proctor and Damon Jackson.

Jingliang (11-4) was found to have a banned substance in his drug test, but stated that it came from a tainted meat supply. The 28-year-old has won three of five with the UFC.
UFC 206 takes place December 10 from Toronto and includes Daniel Cormier vs. Anthony Johnson for the light heavyweight title.
Li Jingliang will avoid any punishment from the UFC or USADA for a failed drug test.
Jingliang’s May test came back for banned substances, but it is believed his result was contaminated by ingesting tainted meat.
The test was conducted following his win over Anton Zafir at The Ultimate Fighter 23 Finale.

“During its investigation into the circumstances that led to the positive test, USADA interviewed Jingliang and reviewed all available relevant evidence, including Jingliang’s whereabouts, dietary habits, and the laboratory reports demonstrating very low parts per billion concentrations of the prohibited substance in the athlete’s urine sample. USADA concluded that the presence of clenbuterol in the athlete’s sample very likely resulted from clenbuterol contaminated meat consumed in China. As a result, Jingliang will not face a period of ineligibility for his positive test. Furthermore, Jingliang’s competitive results from his bout on The Ultimate Fighter Finale card have not been disqualified because a sample collected in connection with that bout on July 8, 2016, by the Nevada State Athletic Commission was reported as negative.”

USADA also informed the UFC that it initiated an investigation into the source of the prohibited substance detected in Jingliang’s sample prior to notifying him of the potential violation. Because of this investigation, USADA has not issued a provisional suspension against Jingliang at this time.
“USADA, the independent administrator of the UFC Anti-Doping Policy, will handle the results management and appropriate adjudication of this case. It is important to note that, under the UFC Anti-Doping Policy, a full and fair legal review process is afforded to all athletes before any sanctions are imposed. The Nevada State Athletic Commission has also retained jurisdiction over this matter because Jingliang’s sample was collected prior to his participation on The Ultimate Fighter Finale card on July 8, 2016, in Las Vegas, Nevada.
“Consistent with all previous potential anti-doping violations, additional information will be provided at the appropriate time as the process moves forward.”
