The UFC has raised several personal bars with its first stadium show, UFC 129 next week in Toronto. Why not one more?

The UFC announced early Thursday morning via its Twitter feed that all five of its unaired preliminary card fights for UFC 129 will be streamed live on Facebook. MMA Fighting was first to report Wednesday that at least two bouts were planned for the social networking giant.

For the first time in its history, every fight on the card will air on a broadcast of some type. The first five fights will stream at the UFC’s Facebook fan page, a trend the company started in January at its Fight for the Troops 2 show. Two prelims will air live on Spike TV, a common pay-per-view lead-in the promotion started at UFC 103 in September 2009. And the main card will air on pay-per-view.

Dana WhiteUFC president Dana White said Tuesday he was “blown away” by fan response to the promotion’s April show in Toronto.

UFC 129, scheduled for April 30 at the Rogers Centre in Toronto, reportedly sold 42,000 tickets from its UFC Fight Club and newsletter presales alone last week – which led the UFC and Rogers Centre officials to reconfigure the seating setup to add more tickets for Saturday’s public on-sale.

Within minutes, the additional ticket allotment was gone, and the UFC had a new personal best – and North American record – 55,000 tickets sold with a record $11 million gate. White said the company took a risk putting that many tickets on sale for its first stadium show – but was banking on previous successes in Canada, in Montreal and Vancouver.

Despite published online reports saying the UFC will head to Chicago in November, that will not be the case.

MMA Fighting spoke Wednesday to UFC vice president of regulatory affairs Marc Ratner, who said those reports are not accurate and the promotion has not yet decided on a city or a venue for an expected Nov. 20 pay-per-view card.

“The circus is in town at the United Center,” Ratner said. “We’re looking at different venues – we had to wait for the NBA schedule to come out officially yesterday, and we’ll probably make a decision for Nov. 20 in the next week.”
