Maryna Moroz is doubling down on her callout of ex-teammate, Mariya Agapova.

Moroz recently claimed Agapova struggled with jealousy and was a drug addict which is why she got kicked out of American Top Team. Along with that, Moroz claims Agapova was flirting with other fighters as well as trying to hurt them in purpose in training. However, Agapova was quick to deny those allegations and instead said she wanted to fight Moroz.

Now, the former teammates are set to face one another at UFC 272 on March 5 and ahead of the scrap, Moroz doubled down on the trash-talk of Agapova. The event will take place at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas and will be headlined by a grudge match between Colby Covington and Jorge Masvidal.

“Before, I said she’s a dangerous person and it’s true. She used drugs, we have all the proof. Videos, screenshots, everything. And of course, I didn’t post it. I don’t need to. I don’t need my Instagram showing garbage,” Moroz said to CageSide Press. “This girl is garbage. I don’t want my Instagram looking like garbage. I show OnlyFans, beautiful pictures, but now I can show the journalists who is real and who is who. ‘Mashka’ is a person who is a liar, very dangerous. In interviews, she’s ‘Oh, I’m nice girl, I’m training,’” Moroz continued. “Of course, she trains, but she used drugs. She was crazy and dangerous saying she’d kill me and want to cut my face.”

Given the history between the two, this fight will be highly anticipated. Agapova called for it to happen and got her wish, as she said that she wanted to punish Moroz for her comments. She will get her chance to do so at UFC 272.

A beef between Mariya Agapova and Maryna Moroz will be settled in the UFC Octagon.

The flyweights have reportedly been booked to meet at UFC 272 on March 5th, per Raphael Marinho of Combate. The fight is expected to take place at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada, USA.

Agapova has long wanted to get her hands on Moroz. This beef stems from an interview from July, where Moroz claimed that Agapova was forced out of the American Top Team gym due to drug use and violent threats towards other gym members. Agapova has since denied this claim, so has her manager Alex Davis.

After a win two months back, Agapova had strong words for Moroz and her allegations.

“Yeah, she’s just jealous. She’s jealous. Second, she’s sneaky. She’s trying to destroy my career. I lost sponsorship because of her interview and got [into a] really big trouble situation,” said Agapova during her post-fight press conference. “And I would like to punish this b**** because she’s trying to destroy my career. I want to smash her.”

Beef Aside, Looking At Agapova vs. Moroz

Setting the beef aside, the matchup is an intriguing pairing at flyweight. The bout gives both competitors a chance to build on their short winning streaks.

The reported matchup will be Moroz’s first fight in nearly two years. This is because numerous planned bouts for her have fallen off of cards due to various reasons.

Moroz will be returning with a two-fight winning streak, having beaten Sabina Mazo and Mayra Bueno Silva in her last appearances.

Similarly, Agapova defeated Mazo in her October outing. That fight, which earned her a “Performance of the Night” bonus, also put her back into the win column after being on the losing side of a massive upset to Shana Dobson in 2020.

Mariya Agapova is coming off of a dominant submission victory against Sabina Mazo last month in October. She finished her opponent via rear-naked choke in the third and final round at UFC Fight Night.

The Kazakhstani was actually the underdog against Sabina Mazo, but she went on to not only win, but she secured $50,000 in a performance of the night bonus.

The young star has a huge ceiling with already having her third fight in the UFC by 24 years old.

Unfortunately, a swirl of rumors has recently gone out about Agapova coming from former teammate Maryna Moroz.

Mariya Agapova recently explained that any rumors of drug addiction are completely false when speaking to James Lynch on All Access MMA.

“Yes I have my troubles and everything, but saying that I am [a] drug addict and that I have problems with drugs that’s totally a lie. Yes, I do have some medical doctor prescribed [drugs], but it’s my personal business and nobody else’s. Even if I do medical drugs, I do it for my health because the doctor prescribed me, and this is no one’s business… talking on interviews about my problems is very disgusting.”

A fight between Maryna Moroz and Mariya Agapova would be instant fireworks with bad blood behind the two. She does want to fight Maryna, but she explained that Moroz is currently undergoing visa issues.

Later on in the interview, Mariya went on to explain her ideal return date.

“I am going to slowly come back, and we will see who it will be. Forreal, I don’t care, I want to fight with someone strong. For now, I want to fight with strikers. I don’t want to fight with wrestlers and grapplers yet. Some good striker like Ariane Lipski Maybe… After when I get my groundwork better and I can call someone who knows jiu-jitsu and wrestling. Now I feel like I am not ready for a wrestling and jiu-jitsu opponent. My Jiu-Jitsu and wrestling are not high levels yet and I want to fight strikers… Beginning of next year I want to fight again.”

We will see what’s in store for Mariya in 2022. For now, we will have to wait for a fight announcement for the young fighter.

UFC women’s flyweight Mariya Agapova has vowed to “smash” former teammate Maryna Moroz for talking smack behind her back.

Agapova earned a Performance of the Night bonus for her victory over Sabina Mazo at UFC Vegas 39 on Saturday. After dropping Mazo early in the third round, the 24-year-old masterfully latched onto her back and sunk in a rear-naked choke, taking her UFC tally to 2-1.

It was Agapova’s first fight in over a year, and in that time, the Kazakh has had a series of scandalous accusations flung at her by former American Top Team peer Moroz. The Ukrainian claims that Agapova was forced out of the gym for a motley of indiscretions, including drug use, threatening to stab several individuals, and stalking the pregnant wife of a fellow fighter.

In July, Agapova’s manager, Alex Davis, denied the accusations, saying that while “Mariya went through some difficult moments” her expulsion from American Top Team “had nothing to do with drugs.”

Agapova Calls Out Moroz, Vows To “Smash Her Face”

Following her victory over Mazo, Agapova wasted no time in calling out Moroz, and in her post-fight interview, laid into her former teammate for running her mouth.

“Yeah, she’s just jealous,” said Agapova. “She’s jealous. Second, she’s sneaky. She’s trying to destroy my career. I lost sponsorship because of her interview and got really big trouble situation. And I would like to punish this bitch because she’s trying to destroy my career. I want to smash her.”

Mariya explained that the accusations, which she flatly denies, have severely damaged her reputation. Not only did she lose sponsorships, but also fans. The former Dana White’s Contender Series alum said that she was in fact expelled from American Top Team due to an argument with “some guy,” and counter-accused Moroz of cheating her manager out of mone before expressing her desire to “beat her ass” and “smash her face.”

So if all the sordid allegations leveled against her are untrue, why does Agapova feel her ex-teammate is lying?

“I think she’s just trying to put me down because I left, I have trouble, I have trouble with my health, and she just used it like my weakness to put me down, to destroy my career,” said Agapova. “And this is super sneaky and not nice. Like now, I’m good, and I (called her out for a fight). So if you want to talk shit, be ready to answer for your words.”

Kazakhstan native, Mariya Agapova is back in the winner’s enclosure following the biggest betting underdog loss in the history of the UFC — dropping and then quickly submitting opponent, Sabina Mazo with a third round rear-naked choke in the middle of the UFC Vegas 39 main card.

Agapova, a product of Dana White‘s Contender Series, returned for the first time since her upset loss to Shana Dobson back in August of last year, and with a switch of camps in Florida, the 24-year-old prospect has lodged her second submission victory under the UFC’s banner.

Forced to fight on the outside for most of the fight against Medellin native, Mazo, Agapova dropped the Colombian with a massive right hook with less than a minute elapsed in the third round, sending Mazo to the canvas right away, before immediately jumping to the back, taking hooks and then locking up a quickfire rear-naked choke. Agapova adds Mazo to a UFC résumé which includes a debut success against Hannah Cifers — which also came with a rear-naked choke win.

Below, catch Agapova’s third round finish over Mazo.
