Marlon Vera doesn’t believe in Sean O’Malley’s generosity since he had a cameraman documenting him giving the money out.

‘Sugar’ took to his local Walmart to hand out $100 dollars to the local shoppers for the holidays. Society deems it necessary nowadays to document every good deed one does. It’s no wonder why O’Malley documented it, as many influencers that do charitable things are constantly posting it.

While it was a nice gesture by O’Malley, ‘Chito’ doesn’t see the reason why it needed to be documented with a cameraman. He even went as far as calling O’Malley a ‘piece of sh*t’ for his kind gesture. O’Malley handed out thousands of dollars to shoppers, as he claimed in the video.

Marlon Vera took to Twitter to call out Sean O’Malley for posting the video

Vera and O’Malley had have bad blood between the them since Vera’s win over O’Malley back at UFC 252. An ankle injury caused O’Malley to go down and allowed Vera to capitalize with shots on the ground. O’Malley has always claimed that loss as an illegitimate one and still calls himself undefeated to this day.

A rematch featuring the two may be in the cards in the near future with O’Malley breaking into the top 15 rankings of the bantamweight division. There are more questions that have to be answered between the two, as they are on a collision course as two future contenders in the division.

Vera is coming off a beautiful front kick KO over Frankie Edgar in a fight that was very close before ‘Chito’ was able to put his light out. It was Vera’s second win in a row after losing to Jose Aldo at UFC ‘Fight Night’ 183.

O’Malley on the other hand, has won three straight fights since losing to Vera. He had a statement win over his last opponent Raulian Paiva in his last fight. O’Malley won via TKO and was dominant the entire fight. He even fought and won with an injured hand.

UFC bantamweight contender Sean O’Malley still considers himself undefeated in MMA ahead of his fight against Raulian Paiva at UFC 269.

O’Malley’s lone defeat in the UFC came courtesy of Marlon Vera at UFC 252. It was a controversial TKO finish in which O’Malley suffered a nasty injury and ended up leaving the UFC Apex on a stretcher after injuring his leg.

During a recent interview with Ariel Helwani on The MMA Hour, O’Malley opened up on why he still considers himself undefeated despite the Vera loss.

“Yeah, I mean, that fight, I didn’t feel like I lost because his (Vera) skills were better,” O’Malley said. “I don’t think he truly, truly thinks he won that fight. The way that fight played out. it’s a rare occasion that that happens. Look at how many times I got kicked in the leg last fight against Kris (Moutinho), how many times I got kicked in the leg against Thomas (Almeida); you didn’t see my whole leg go completely numb from their toes or their shins.”

“It was a crazy thing that happened,” O’Malley continued. “I don’t feel like, mentally, I lost that fight. I go out there, have a rematch, and he beats me in a decision or finishes me fair and square, I have no issue saying I lost the fight. I lose in sparring, I lose in grappling. I’m not worried about losing. I just don’t feel like I lost that fight and a lot of people hate that I say that.”

Sean O’Malley Remains One Of The Top UFC Prospects

O’Malley has managed to rebound nicely from his loss to Vera, earning back-to-back finishes over Kris Moutinho and Thomas Almeida. His fight against Moutinho, in particular, opened many fans’ eyes as to how dominant O’Malley can be in the striking department.

Despite the strong start to O’Malley’s MMA career, he has yet to enter the UFC bantamweight rankings. This is mostly due to his level of competition to date, but that could change sooner rather than later.

O’Malley has recently called for a fight against Dominick Cruz next, as both get ready to compete on the same card. If he’s able to get past a tough Paiva at UFC 269, he could finally earn a spot in the stacked bantamweight rankings.

Sean O’Malley Says Vera Rematch Is “Gonna Happen 100%”

Sean O'Malley & Marlon Vera, Sean O'Malley

UFC bantamweight star Sean O’Malley is “100%” certain he’ll have the chance to exact revenge on Marlon Vera in a rematch down the line.

The pair fought at UFC 252 last August. At the time, O’Malley was unbeaten and riding high off two finishes following his return to action in March that year. In his previous outing, he’d recorded a Knockout of the Year contender against veteran Eddie Wineland. Vera, meanwhile, fell on the wrong side of a tight decision against Song Yadong in his prior appearance, a loss that snapped his five-fight winning streak.

Upsetting the odds inside the UFC Apex, Vera added the first blemish to O’Malley’s record with a first-round TKO. The stoppage came after the Ecuadorian’s leg kicks appeared to injure “Sugar,” seemingly disabling his foot after connecting with the perennial nerve.

Since then, both men have had success. After falling short of contention four months later with a defeat to former featherweight champion José Aldo, “Chito” re-established himself as a force to be reckoned with thanks to two impressive wins in 2021. Having avenged his loss to Davey Grant in June, Vera shot closer to the top 10 with a highlight-reel knockout of former 155-pound titleholder Frankie Edgar at UFC 268.

In the same period, O’Malley rebounded with two wins. A brutal knockout against former hot prospect Thomas Almeida was followed by a record-breaking striking performance against promotional newcomer Kris Moutinho at UFC 264 in July. He’ll have the chance to secure a third victory in 2021 this weekend when he faces Raulian Paiva.

O’Malley Wants His Revenge

Despite having a tough opponent in front of him, O’Malley has never been one to shy away from discussing his future plans and possible matchups in the UFC. During a recent appearance on Ariel Helwani’s The MMA Hour, “Sugar” was asked about his former foe Vera.

Addressing the ranked bantamweight’s latest appearance in the Octagon, O’Malley reluctantly admitted it was a good performance, but suggested they wouldn’t be having the conversation had the fight against Edgar lasted another minute.

“Did he? (look good in his last fight). I did watch, I just didn’t know if you were being serious or not. I thought it was a pretty decent performance. I mean, I thought a minute left he would’ve lost that fight and I don’t think we’d be saying the same thing, but he won, he got the job done, and that’s all that matters. So yeah, I guess you consider that a good performance.”

When asked if he believes he’ll run it back with “Chito” at some point in the future, O’Malley suggested a rematch with the Ecuadorian is “100%” going to happen at some point. That’s despite Vera’s previous claims that O’Malley already turned down the chance to face him again.

“Yes, 100%. I think it’s gonna happen 100%… there’s a time and place for that fight, and I think it’s gonna be a big fight. It’s gonna happen. I don’t know when, I don’t know if soon, sooner or later, but it’ll happen,” said O’Malley.

Despite being unranked, it’s hard to imagine that would come in the way of a possible rematch with Vera. However, “Chito” is setting his targets high for his next outing. He recently called out Aldo for a rematch following the Brazilian’s five-round triumph over Rob Font last weekend.

Should O’Malley emerge victorious at UFC 269 this Saturday, he’s perhaps only one more victory away from closing the gap on Vera in the rankings and making a second clash a real possibility.

Marlon Vera Wants Aldo To “Be A Man” And Accept Five-Round Rematch

UFC bantamweight Marlon “Chito” Vera has called out top-five contender José Aldo for a five-round rematch following the Brazilian’s victory over Rob Font this past weekend.

The pair first collided on a stacked UFC Vegas 17 card last December. At the time, Aldo was on a three-fight losing skid, having fallen to defeats against Alexander Volkanovski, Marlon Moraes, and Petr Yan. Vera, meanwhile, was riding high after becoming the first man to beat Sean O’Malley four months prior.

Across a competitive three rounds, Aldo had the edge and secured a unanimous decision victory. While he marked his first win at bantamweight, Vera fell short of breaking into contention.

Since their clash, both men have been in exceptional form. After avenging his previous loss to England’s Davey Grant in a Fight of the Night contest earlier this year, Vera faced former UFC Lightweight Champion Frankie Edgar at UFC 268 last month. Inside Madison Square Garden, “Chito” recorded a memorable highlight-reel knockout courtesy of a front kick.

For Aldo, two wins in 2021 against top contenders have seen him once again enter the title scene. First was a co-main event triumph over his compatriot Pedro Munhoz at UFC 265 in August. The former featherweight titleholder then extended his streak to three on Saturday with a commanding main event performance against Font, who many had tipped to fight for the title in 2022.

Vera Shoots His Shot

Despite their places in the rankings, which sees Vera narrowly outside the top 10 and Aldo firmly inside the top five, the Ecuadorian wants a second chapter with “Junior.”

Taking to Twitter in the aftermath of Aldo’s latest success, “Chito” challenged the Brazilian to a five-round headliner. As far as ambitious callouts go, this is certainly up there…

“Let’s do it again @josealdojunior be a man and take a 5 rounder with me.”

The chance of the rematch happening is slim, at least for now. Aldo firmly has his sights set on reaching the top of the food chain again, something a victory over Vera would not help to achieve.

While Vera will likely to have to re-adjust his target to the likes of Marlon Moraes and the loser of the upcoming Dominick Cruz vs. Pedro Munhoz clash, Aldo will be hoping to secure a title eliminator against former two-time bantamweight champ TJ Dillashaw.

Sean O’Malley has already been selective about the way he wants to advance through the UFC rankings, but now he has an interesting goal.

“Suga” Sean O’Malley burst onto the UFC with a unique personality, and impressive wins, leading to him being one of the most well-known prospects in the sport. Despite this, he has not really faced much in the way of ranked competition and has even gone on record to say that he is not interested in fighting ranked opponents until he makes more money.

Eventually, though, all of that will change as he starts to face higher and higher competition, starting with his next fight against Raulian Paiva at UFC 269. That said, he has an interesting goal that he wishes to accomplish before he reaches the top ten of the bantamweight division, as he pointed out with a post on his Twitter.

“My goal is to have more fights than Chito before I get into the top 10. 18 and counting,” O’Malley wrote.

Obviously, this is in reference to Marlon “Chito” Vera, who is the only man to hold a win over Sean O’Malley and has gone on to be ranked number 11th in the division. In the time their bout that saw Vera get the TKO win after hurting his opponent with kicks to the leg, the two have gone back and forth at each other, with “Suga” Sean routinely dismissing the loss.

At the time of writing, Vera has a total of 26 pro fights, sitting at a record of 18-7-1. This means that O’Malley (14-1) would have to fight 12 more times before getting into the top ten if his statement on Twitter is to be believed.

What do you make of this proclamation from Sean O’Malley? Do you think he is being serious, or is he simply trolling Marlon Vera?

Chael Sonnen Frankie Edgar

Chael Sonnen is not ready to close the door on Frankie Edgar’s UFC career just yet.

The entire UFC 268 card was filled with amazing fights. There were amazing finishes from start to finish. One performance that stood out was Marlon Vera’s front kick KO of Frankie Edgar. The nature of the finish has some people calling for Edgar to hang up his gloves, but the outspoken Chael Sonnen does not agree. He took to his YouTube page to air his feelings towards Edgar in the UFC 268 bout.

“Frankie won every bit of that fight. He won every exchange, every round, and every minute of that fight. He lost one second of it. One second and boom, kicked in the mouth, falls down, fight gets over,” Sonnen said. “That’s a horrible way to go out. Frankie definitely proved to us he could still do this. He definitely proved he still trains, he’s still in great shape, he’s got the speed, he’s got the power, he’s got the range, his boxing was on point digging to the body. Frankie looked great. He lost one second. We don’t know if we’re going to see a future Hall-of-Famer, a former champion again because he lost one second of a 13 and a half minute fight? Man, that’s tough.”

Edgar is 40 years old and has been competing in the UFC since 2007. Recently he has been asked about retirement on several occasions. Following the KO at UFC 268 this topic has been coming up a lot but Edgar is yet to address it head-on.

The loss against Vera was the second in a row for Edgar at his fourth loss in his last five fights. He is still being matched up with the very best the UFC has to offer and although he is a two-time champion, he is looking to add another belt to his mantle. This recent drop to bantamweight seemed like a last-ditch effort, but Edgar has explained that he is fighting because he loves it.

Sonnen knows a thing or two about fighting for such a long time. He continued to fight until he was 42 years old. Now he is passing his knowledge on using his YouTube channel and podcast. In his expertise, he believes Edgar has more high-level competition in him.

Do you agree with Chael Sonnen that Frankie Edgar can continue to fight in the UFC?
