The filming of next season’s The Ultimate Fighter featuring arch-rivals Ronda Rousey and Miesha Tate as opposing coaches, has just wrapped its filming schedule and the first episode is due to air on FOX Sports 1 in September.

If the UFC women’s bantamweight champion has her way, this upcoming season will be the only time she does the show.

“I love my team and I love the relationships I was able to forge, but I’m never f**king doing that again,” Rousey said recently as a guest of SiriusXM’s Fight Club. “No way. I aged four years last month I think.”

Perhaps she feels that way because she had to be around Miesha Tate—a fighter she despises like no other—for several weeks. Or maybe, it was being under the watchful eye of video cameras for the duration of the show that she wishes to never experience for a second time.

“I think that going on any reality show is not good for your mental health because you behave differently when you are being watched, and you constantly have an extra bit of awareness of what’s going on all the time,” Rousey explained. “Even f**king electrons behave differently when their being watched.”

While filming TUF may have been an unpleasant experience for her at times, Rousey is no stranger to receiving media attention. Her meteoric rise in popularity and mainstream exposure has taken the sport and the UFC to new-found heights, and places it has never been prior.

She has already made history by becoming the first-ever women’s champion in the UFC, and she will set another precedent—along with Tate—as the first female coaches in the show’s history to coach both female and male fighters.

MMA fans almost didn’t get to see the heated rivalry between Rousey and Tate come to the small screen this fall. An injury to Cat Zingano—who was originally picked as the opposing coach of the current champion—opened up the doors for Tate to come in and renew their utter dislike for one another.

Rousey explained a fight between her and Zingano “would be better,” but to be a coach against Tate on TUF serves well “for TV purposes.”

“People are more looking forward to the fight between me and Cat, and people are more looking forward to the drama between me and Miesha,” she said. “It’s really unfortunate that it worked out that way for Cat.”

Rousey is never one to mince words, especially when talking about her nemesis. She explained what she thinks the viewers’ reactions will be upon digesting the next season of TUF.

“Everyone is going to think that I am nuts and hard-core, and everyone is going to think that Miesha is just a fake little bitch,” Rousey stated. “She spent more time worrying about her hair than her fighters, and I was just obsessed about giving my fighters the best possible, and you can really tell the difference between us I think in the show.”

The bad blood between the two women fighters has dated back to before Rousey defeated Tate and became the Strikeforce women’s bantamweight champion in March 2012. It has also involved Tate’s boyfriend, UFC bantamweight Bryan Caraway, on certain occasions.

The former Olympian believes that Tate’s loss to her was actually more beneficial than a win would have been.

“She hates my guts, and whether she likes it or not, she has more opportunities because of me beating her ass,” Rousey said.

A very bold and profound statement from the first-ever UFC women’s champ, but, perhaps, a completely true one. A women’s division could have possibly come to the UFC in time had Rousey not defeated Tate for the Strikeforce womens title. It’s highly unlikely that it would have come as fast with Tate leading the movement. The UFC’s interest was clearly in Rousey.

“I think that she hates the truth that she’s better off because she lost,” Rousey continued. “If she won that fight, and it continued to be her as the champ, she wouldn’t be as well off as she is now. She’s going to try and make up for it and try and win at this next fight, but it’s just not happening.

We are in two entirely different leagues and I’m going to be training harder than her, doing more than her and she is always going to be second and that’ something that she is going to have to live with.”

The date to see this rivalry live, through a full season of TUF, can’t come soon enough.

Two More Miesha Tate Photos from ESPN The Magazine’s Body Issue Revealed

Some fans will be rejoicing that it’s Christmas in July after seeing two new pictures of upcoming UFC women’s bantamweight title challenger Miesha Tate.

The pictures aren’t from just any old photo shoot—they come from the annual release of ESPN The Magazine’s Body Issue, which come courtesy of the fine folks at MiddleEasy.

Ben Watts of ESPN The Magazine gets the credit for the artistically nude photos.

After posting a 6-2 record in Strikeforce, “Cupcake” lost her UFC debut to undefeated prospect Cat Zingano at The Ultimate Fighter Season 17 Finale in April.

The loss was an extremely disappointing one for Tate, as she convincingly won the first two rounds. After the match, she voiced her strong disapproval with the third-round stoppage by referee Kim Winslow.

However, Lady Luck would not elude the Washington native for very long, as Zingano had to withdraw from her coaching spot on season 18 of TUF, opposite women’s champ Ronda Rousey, due to a knee injury sustained in May, via Yahoo! Sports

Tate was quickly brought in as a last-minute replacement on the show and will also receive the next crack at Rousey at UFC 168 in December, despite being just 1-2 in her past three fights.

The decision has also drawn criticism, since the former Olympic bronze medalist has already beaten her archrival in convincing fashion.

Tate was a game opponent in March 2012, being the first fighter to put Rousey in compromising positions inside the cage, “Rowdy” captured the Strikeforce women’s bantamweight title after locking up her signature armbar.

While the submission hold looked particularly gruesome, since Tate’s elbow was bending in all kinds of ways it wasn’t supposed to, somehow she managed to walk away with just a dislocated elbow. She was surprisingly able to beat Julie Kedzie just five months later.

Rousey was the cover girl of the ESPN The Magazine’s Body Issue last year, while UFC light heavyweight champion Jon Jones and former Strikeforce competitor Gina Carano have also graced the pages of the yearly publication in the past.

The latest ESPN The Magazine’s Body Issue, featuring Tate and many other athletes from various sports, hits newsstands on Friday.

Miesha Tate’s Latest ‘ESPN Body Issue’ Photos Give Us Slightly More Ass, Hand-Bra

(Photo by Ben Watts for ESPN The Magazine. Click image for full-size version)

We’re not sure if these were supposed to be released or what*, but CP reader Travis S. found two more nude photos from Miesha Tate‘s “ESPN Body Issue” shoot buried deep within ESPN’s website, and we just had to share them. (The second one is after the jump.) As you can see, the photo above shows a much-more generous helping of ass-crack than the first “Body Issue” photo of Tate that was released over the weekend, and the one below is of the classic hand-bra style, with those pink wraps mysteriously missing. They’re all shot from the same profile angle, but who knows, maybe there’s a more varied selection out there somewhere. So keep searching, perverts!

* If they weren’t supposed to be released, there’s no need to sue us, ESPN lawyers. A simple cease-and-desist will do just fine.

Will Ronda Rousey and Bryan Caraway be the Real Story of TUF 18?

UFC fans have grown fond of the animosity that’s spawned between women’s bantamweight champ Ronda Rousey and former Strikeforce standout Miesha Tate.

The Rousey-Tate rivalry will fully come to fruition when season 18 of The Ultimate Fighter—which will feature both men and women for the first time in show history—airs on Sept 4.

However, will the show’s most obviously intriguing variables get overshadowed by yet another juicy twist in TUF 18’s storyline?

Fans are downright antsy to witness drama ensue between “Rowdy” and Tate’s boyfriend and fellow UFC bantamweight, Bryan Caraway.

Caraway, one of Tate’s coaches on the show, initially ignited the feud in 2012 when he took to Twitter before his girlfriend’s fight with Rowdy at Strikeforce: Tate vs. Rousey to say the following:

And if she wants to challenge a man I’ll knock her teeth dwn her throat the(n) break her arm!

Rowdy has fired back on more than one occasion in response to several brash Twitter gestures from Caraway. During a Metro PCS chat in June, Rowdy upped the ante in the quarrel by saying:

People ask me this question all the time and it’s the same answer all the time—I would love to beat the s**t out of Bryan Caraway, but apparently it’s not legal. And he seems like the kind of b**tch that would sue me. Big time.

Rousey‘s disdain for Caraway will definitely provide an added incentive for the TUF viewers seeking the dramatic and the out of the ordinary. But it certainly won’t eclipse the grudge between Rowdy and Tate, or the importance of having men and women compete on the same TUF for the first time.

UFC president Dana White sounded off on the on-screen hatred between Rousey and Tate by saying the following to reporters following UFC 162

They’re both going to look f**king crazy.  You know why?  They’re both f**king crazy. They bring the worst out in each other.  I see Ronda interact with other fighters. Cat Zingano walked over to her tonight and hugged her and Ronda’s like ‘Oh my god how are you feeling?  How long do you think it’s going to be till you get back?’ Look at her and Liz Carmouche.  Her and Liz Carmouche loved each other, they were going to fight, they went out and tried to rip each other’s heads off. These two bring the absolute f**king worst out of each other.  They both look like f**king lunatics.

Despite the theory that an ample amount of tension existed between male and female fighters on the show, Rousey denied the notion that the show turned out excessively sexual.

Instead, the UFC’s first female champ admitted during her interview with Metro PCS that TUF 18 ended up resembling more of an emotional roller coaster.

Surprisingly, it is much more professional than you would have thought. I wouldn’t say it’s an overly sexual season, but I think it’s a much more emotional one. So far, it’s tiring, and it’s every day. It’s been a very exciting season, but it has also been very taxing on everybody. So I think we’re all going to be very happy to get home, but I’m sure all the fans will be very happy with the result.

The past year has seen Miesha Tate fall from one of the top female stars in MMA to a star relatively forgotten. However, she has bounced back in a big way.

In 2012, she held the Strikeforce Women’s Bantamweight Championship for one match before losing to Ronda Rousey with a first-round submission.

Since then, her opponent has gone on to become the first UFC women’s champion as well as one of the more popular competitors in the sport.

Meanwhile, Tate lost in her UFC debut against Cat Zingano with a third-round knockout. This was the second loss in three matches after losing only two in her first 14 appearances.

However, some luck has now fallen her way, as Zingano was forced to withdraw from a potential title fight against Rousey. Instead, Tate will now take her place and will fight the champion in December as part of UFC 168, according to Franklin McNeil of ESPN.

From a fighting perspective, this does not make a lot of sense. Tate lost her chance to contend for a title by failing to win her last match and she is now only the No. 6 competitor in her division, according to MMARising.com’s unified rankings.

Still, UFC is all about drawing a crowd, and the 26-year-old star can do that. This has never been truer than after the release of the 2013 “Body Issue” by ESPN The Magazine.

This annual issue is about showcasing the impressive physical form of the top athletes in various sports. The fact that Tate was chosen to be a part of this year’s issue shows her appeal.

In fact, her popularity is only likely to increase after baring all in a magazine seen by a wide range of fans. Those who did not know about a middling contender before now are certain to remember the name going forward.

Considering that Rousey posed in the issue last year, a battle between the two attractive women is only set to bring in a bigger crowd, many of whom have never watched an MMA match in their lives.

When Tate was asked about why she did the shoot, she said she wanted to end stereotypes, according to Ethan Sacks of the New York Daily News:

One of the biggest common misperceptions about women’s mixed martial arts is that we’re not feminine,” she says. “So for me it’s important to show that women in this sport are comfortable about their bodies, that we’re pretty and carry ourselves as women — and we can also turn it up a notch in the cage.

The feminine side is the one that most readers will like to see. While it is a sad truth, more people are likely to tune in to watch female UFC fighters if they are more attractive.

With a couple of pictures, Tate introduced herself to the world and showcased her looks to a wide audience of people. This will pay off huge dividends for her career going forward.

Now if she can find a way to beat Rousey in December, it will truly give her new fans something to cheer about.
