UFC on Fox 11 weigh-ins will get underway from Orlando, Fla. at 4 p.m. ET on Friday. Bleacher Report will have full coverage when the fighters take to the scale.

The main event is set as a heavyweight title eliminator as No. 2-ranked Fabricio Werdum takes on No. 3-ranked Travis Browne in the five-round main event.

Both men are on a three fight win streak, but Browne has been the more active fighter. All three of his wins came in 2013, and Saturday will mark the first time in 10 months that Werdum has stepped inside the Octagon for a fight.

The rest of the main card is just as exciting. No. 3-ranked Miesha Tate battles No. 7-ranked Liz Carmouche in a women’s bantamweight co-main event. Lightweight Donald Cerrone, ranked No. 8, squares off against No. 11-ranked Edson Barboza, and Brad Tavares, ranked No. 13, meets Yoel Romero, ranked No. 14, in the middleweight division.

It will be an exciting night on Saturday, but the fight card becomes official tomorrow afternoon.

Fabricio Werdum and Travis Browne stand to gain a great deal from their matchup at UFC on Fox 11. On April 19, at the Amway Center in Orlando, both fighters will face off in an attempt to determine the heavyweight champion’s next opponent.

Leading up to the main event, Liz Carmouche and Edson Barboza will face higher-ranking opponents who are also more accomplished in the field of mixed martial arts. Victory would translate into a major step up in their respective divisions, leaving them closer to an opportunity at a title shot themselves.

UFC on Fox 11 will feature an intriguing women’s bantamweight tilt in the co-main event. No. 3-ranked Miesha Tate will try to pick up her first win since the summer of 2012 against No. 7-ranked Liz Carmouche.

This bout is not only interesting due to the rank of the fighters, but because both were handled easily by champion Ronda Rousey in 2013. Their road back to title contention starts on Saturday in Orlando, Fla.

Tate is ranked No. 3 in the division, but her road to another title fight will be a long one. She has lost two in a row and has been dominated by Rousey in each of their two bouts. There is little interest in seeing a third fight between the two. However, if she gets back to her winning ways, it will be hard to deny her another chance.

Carmouche was looking for key victory in her last outing, but Alexis Davis controlled the fight with her leg kicks. It was a setback for the former Marine.

These are, without question, two of the top bantamweights in the world. This will be a clash of styles, and whomever comes out on top will be back in the thick of things in the division.

Here is your head-to-toe breakdown for the UFC on Fox 11 co-main event.

Miesha Tate: GSP Can ‘Stick to a Game Plan and Execute It Flawlessly’

Former UFC women’s bantamweight title challenger Miesha Tate looks to remain relevant in the division on April 19 by beating another top 10 competitor in Liz Carmouche at UFC on Fox 11.

In an interview with ESPN, “Cupcake” discussed enjoying the drama-free atmosphere that has come with being matched with Carmouche, as well as coming up short in her rematch with champ Ronda Rousey at UFC 168 in December.

She attributed the loss to deviating from her game plan, something she believes longtime UFC welterweight titleholder Georges St-Pierre was able to execute to a tee throughout his career. She told ESPN’s Brett Okamoto:

I felt like I had to do something more decisive. I wanted that takedown to make it so that I won the round for sure. That’s just what happens in the haste of a fight sometimes. It doesn’t come out as clean as it did in training. That’s why I think [Georges St-Pierre] is one of my favorite fighters. He seems to be able to stick to a game plan and execute it flawlessly, whether it’s exciting or not. He does it with perfection every single time. I’m like, ‘How do you do that?’

Prior to announcing a hiatus from the sport and vacating his belt late last year, “Rush” had won 12 fights in a row, including nine successful title defenses.

While he consistently dialed in dominant performances, aside from a controversial split decision win over Johny Hendricks at UFC 167, he generally received criticism for his seven consecutive decision victories between July 2009 and November 2013.

Even if not everyone liked it, it is difficult to deny that St-Pierre was excellent at picking his opponents apart with a steady mix of kickboxing, takedowns and ground-and-pound, typically choosing his spots wisely and not getting overaggressive.

Based on this interview, Tate appears cool, calm and collected against a very tough opponent in Carmouche, but the reality is she could very well be in a must-win situation.

Tate is just 1-3 in his past four matchups; granted, she only lost to elite competition in Rousey (twice) and top contender Cat Zingano.

Tate vs. Carmouche serves as the co-main event for UFC on Fox 11, with the Orlando, Fla., card being headlined by a heavyweight title eliminator bout between Travis Browne and Fabricio Werdum.

Miesha Tate Is into a Potential ‘Rousey vs. Cyborg’ Fight

Miesha Tate knows a thing or two about big fights on the big stage.

The former Strikeforce women’s bantamweight champion has twice battled surging superstar Ronda Rousey with those meetings being deemed two of the most high-profile fights in the current era of women’s MMA. While Tate came out on the business end of both affairs, those unique experiences certainly gave her a feel of what can move the proverbial needle with MMA fans.

While “Cupcake” is preparing to return to action next month against Liz Carmouche at UFC on Fox 11 in Orlando, the Washington state native hasn’t been oblivious to the hovering rumors of a “huge fight” set to be announced by the UFC in coming weeks. Joe Rogan kicked off the speculation by hinting at a big announcement during an interview on KROQ radio and the the rumor mill has swirled with talk of everything from a potential showdown between the UFC champion and Cristiane Justino to a battle with the original face of WMMA Gina Carano.

Where either matchup would have their own unique sense of appeal, Tate would rather see her rival step into the Octagon with the Brazilian wrecking machine known as “Cyborg.” During her appearance on Monday’s installment of the MMA Hour with Ariel Helwani, the recent title challenger explained her reasons for wanting to see the former Olympic judoka tangle with the woman highly regarded as the most feared striker in WMMA.

“Everyone wants to see that fight. I think that Cyborg has proven time and time again that she is one of the baddest women on the planet. If she can be the Invicta FC champion at 135, I think she’s done enough. I think that it’s definitely a fair match-up, and I think everybody, including myself, would absolutely love to see it.”

During the interview with Helwani, The Ultimate Fighter 18 coach also broke down her reasons for not wanting to see a fight between Rousey and Carano. While “Conviction” was once the most dominant force on the scene, those days have long since passed. Carano hasn’t fought since being dismantled by “Cyborg” under the Strikeforce banner back in 2009 and has spent the time since honing her acting chops on the movie circuit.

Tate also pointed out that, in addition to her lengthy layoff, Carano would most likely have a rough time making the 135-pound weight limit. During her career, Carano competed at 145-pounds and often struggled to make weight for her fights. With the UFC only having a women’s bantamweight division, Carano would have to hit that mark, and Tate believes it would be a tall order for the former star.

“I think that would be a lot for Gina to take on, having a five-year layoff. I don’t know, I think the fans would really get a kick out of it, so I understand the entertainment value. The fan in me would be a little curious to see it, but I don’t know if it would be a fair match-up, just because she’s been out of the loop for so long.

“And to even make 135 again, we’re talking about questionable. She struggled to make 145, who’s going to say five years later she’s going to want to fight Ronda Rousey at 135. It’s a little far-fetched.”

Cat Zingano: I’m Ready to Fight Ronda Rousey, ‘Cyborg’ Fight Would Be ‘Fun’

Top-ranked UFC women’s bantamweight Cat Zingano is looking to return to the gym full-time Monday and begin preparing for a summer showdown with champion Ronda Rousey

Alpha appeared on AXS TV’s Inside MMA Friday night to break the news:

When the time comes, I’m going to be ready, absolutely. I feel strong, I feel like I’m gonna come out ready to fight. I know Ronda had said something about maybe fighting in the end of the summer and I think that sounds pretty good to me too.

The Brazilian jiu-jitsu black belt also stated that she believed fights with Rousey, as well as Invicta FC featherweight champ Cristiane “Cyborg” Justino, would be “fun.”

Zingano, who boasts an undefeated record (8-0, seven finishes), won her UFC debut in April against Miesha Tate. After losing the first two rounds, Zingano came out firing on all cylinders in the third round and scored a come-from-behind TKO, though Tate protested the stoppage, per MMA Fighting.

As a result of the victory, the 31-year-old was set to coach opposite Rousey on Season 18 of The Ultimate Fighter and fight for the belt after the show concluded. However, a knee injury forced Zingano to get surgery, and she was subsequently replaced by Tate, per Fox Sports

Tate was submitted by Rousey, via her patented armbar, at UFC 168 in December in their championship bout. It was the only occasion in which Rowdy went beyond the first round.

Rousey, 9-0, most recently scored her first career knockout when she stopped Sara McMann at UFC 170 last month.

Is the time now for the UFC to book Rousey vs. Zingano for the women’s bantamweight title?
