Belal Muhammad is looking to explore new options after Sean Brady pulls out of their upcoming scheduled bout for December 19 due to injury.

Taking to his podcast Remember The Show, Muhammad was joined by Jason Anik and Paul Felder who broke the news during a discussion the trio had.

“Sean Brady pulled out guys so we are looking for a new opponent,” Muhammad said. “Hoping that Mike Perry takes this fight, he lost his opponent so hopefully we get that made.”

Muhammad is looking to remain on the event in December to be headlined by #3 ranked Welterweight Leon Edwards and rising undefeated prospect Khamzat Chimaev.

Earlier this week it was revealed Robbie Lawler was forced to pull out of his scheduled fight against Perry at UFC 255, following this Perry immediately called to face Chimaev at Middleweight in order to remain on the event. At this stage, it looks unlikely this will happen leaving the possibility open for Perry to face Muhammad on December 19.

While neither fighter is ranked was briefly ranked #15 at Welterweight while Edwards was temporarily removed from the rankings before losing his spot once Edwards returned. Muhammad has put together three straight wins most recently defeating Lyman Good in June.

Mike Perry recently came back from back to back loses to defeat Mickey Gall in June also. After this victory Perry would remain in headlines due to situations not directly relating to the UFC, however, he would be forced to undergo health evaluations before being cleared to fight again. Once cleared to fight he was shortly after booked to face Lawler.

With both guys being well-known contenders in the Welterweight division it is a strong possibility the pair face off against one another at some stage, for now, Muhammad shared they he will stay ready and await the call for his next matchup.

Robbie Lawler Reportedly Out, Mike Perry Calls For Khamzat Chimaev At Middleweight

Former UFC welterweight champion, ‘Ruthless’ Robbie Lawler is reportedly out of his scheduled UFC 255 matchup with the polarizing, ‘Platinum’ Mike Perry on November 21 due to injury – with the latter now staking his claim for a pairing with uber-prospect, Khamzat ‘Borz’ Chimaev at middleweight instead.

Lawler, who dropped his fourth-consecutive loss at UFC Vegas 8 in August in a one-sided unanimous decision defeat to fellow welterweight staple, ‘The Haitian Sensation’ Neil Magny, along with Perry was notably absent from the UFC 255 main card during the promotion’s broadcast of UFC 254 last weekend on ‘Fight Island’.

With the search actively ongoing to secure a short-notice replacement for Perry – the brash Flint, Michigan native has offered to meet with the already booked, Chimaev as high as 185-pounds in a short-notice tie.

So @Ruthless_RL pulled out (of the fight) due to an injury. Looking for a replacement I asked for @KChimaev and we can do it at middleweight @ufc @FirstRoundMgmt

Chechen-born finisher, Chimaev is scheduled to headline UFC Vegas 15 on December 19 opposite surging contender, Leon ‘The Rocky’ Edwards, however, a quickfire turn around wouldn’t prove uncharted territory for the AllStars trainee.

Making his promotional debut during the promotion’s first visit to Yas Island in Abu Dhabi, UAE this summer – Chimaev laid waste to both John Phillips and promotional newcomer, Rhys McKee in devastating fashion, in the space of a record-setting ten-day period. At UFC Vegas 11 in September, Chimaev finished grappling ace, Gerald Meerschaert with a spectacular one-punch knockout in just seventeen-seconds

For Perry, the 29-year-old has been under the magnifying glass recently, following an incident with an elderly patron at a Lubbock, Texas establishment following his unanimous decision win over Mickey Gall at UFC Vegas 4 in June – where he was infamously cornered by only his girlfriend, Latory Gonzalez. Perry has also recently denied allegations of domestic abuse by his ex-wife, Danielle Nickerson.

In August, Perry also named the above-mentioned Chimaev on a death list alongside the likes of Niko Price, Michel Pereira, Nicolas Dalby, and arch-rival, former welterweight title challenger, Darren ‘The Gorilla’ Till.

New audio has been released of Mike Perry’s mother calling the police on her son who had allegedly just attacked his wife (now divorced) Danielle Nickerson on February 10, 2020.

Perry tried to get in front of the news cycle a couple of days ago by issuing a statement denying all potential claims of physical abuse made by his ex-wife. A day later MMA Junkie released an interview with Nickerson in which she claims Perry assaulted her on several occasions – February 10 being the worst occurrence. After receiving a beating from Perry, Nickerson was able to escape to a neighbor’s house to call Sandra Young, her then mother in law. Young took Nickerson back to her home in the nearby Altamonte Springs.

Perry later arrived at his mother’s address and that’s when Young decided to call the police on her son. The 911 begins with Young explaining the situation to the call handler and expressing her fear of what Perry may do.

“I’m out in the driveway, and he’s violent right now, and I’m scared for my life, and I don’t know what he’s going to do,” Young says on the call. “He’s revving his engine right now. His wife is inside my house, and I’m afraid he’s going to hurt her.”

The 911 call lasted nearly eight minutes; Perry leaves the scene about 90 seconds into the call. Young stays on the line and gives disturbing details about what the UFC fighter had done and threatened to do.

“He said he’s not leaving without her. And I said, ‘She’s not getting in the car,’” Young tells dispatch. “I went and picked her up from the neighbor’s … and I brought her back to my house and then he just showed up. And I tried to talk to him. And I told him he needed to leave and that he needed to go home and sleep. And he said, ‘I’m not leaving. If she doesn’t come out here in five minutes, I’m going to go home and burn the house down.’”

Do you think Mike Perry should still compete at UFC 255 after these allegations?

Popular UFC welterweight Mike Perry is facing fresh allegations of domestic abuse from his ex-wife Danielle Nickerson. The womanly previously known as ‘The Platinum Princess’ spoke to MMA Junkie about her ex-husband’s physical abuse but insisted she was not seeking vengeance against him.

This is nothing to hurt him,” Nickerson said. “I know that my words are not going to have an impact on his career.”

Nickerson claims she was the victim of physical assaults by Perry a “handful of times”. The worst of which took place on February 10, 2020. According to Nickerson, her ex-husband became enraged after a night out in Orlando, Florida. Perry began beating her on the ground and didn’t stop until he got tired. Nickerson managed to flee to a neighbor’s house where she claims Perry’s mother picked her up and called the police on her son.

“It was like a movie,” Nickerson said. “You’re like, this isn’t my life. What is happening right now? I (thought) if I don’t leave and run out of this house, I will die.”

Nickerson says the violence was never “even remotely close” to that previously but does claim Perry had hit her on other occasions. One assault left her with a hematoma on her forehead. Another resulted in a bruised eye and swollen lip.

Perry tried to get ahead of this story last night. ‘Platinum’ posted the below statement denying all claims of physical abuse.

“It’s come to my attention that a media organization will be running a story in reference to a past issue with my ex wife. I would like to address this here now,” Mike Perry wrote on social media. “First and foremost I did not put my hands on my ex at any point in our short term marriage. Secondly, I have already admitted to having an issue with alcohol, and I have been a part of an intensive rehab program that was able to help address not only that but also helped me with anger management. After the completion of the course, I realized that I had said some things in the past that do not put me and what I stand for in the best of light and for that I apologize. I am now in a loving relationship where I am looking forward and excited to welcoming my first born. I’m hopeful, my ex can move on and find peace as I have.” (Transcribed by BJPENN.com)
