By now, it’s crystal clear — John Fury and public events are a recipe for chaos every time.

On Tuesday, Fury Sr. joined his son, Tommy Fury, and former UFC star Darren Till on stage at the kickoff press conference for their Misfits Boxing showdown, scheduled for January 2025 in Manchester.

The atmosphere at the presser intensified when “The Gorilla” fired a barb at John’s other son, Tyson Fury, mocking his first career loss to Oleksandr Usyk in their undisputed heavyweight title bout this past May.

Fury Sr. didn’t take the jab lightly and, consumed by rage, flung a bottle of water at Till, triggering a chaotic, melee-like scene. Security quickly intervened to disperse the escalating tension while Till aggressively pushed forward to confront the Furys.

Fury and Till are set to face off in an eight-round heavyweight showdown, headlining Misfits Boxing 20 on Jan. 18 at the Co-op Live arena in Manchester, England.

“TNT” is coming off a dominant unanimous decision victory over social media sensation KSI at the MF & DAZN: X Series 10 event in October 2023, which came on the heels of his narrow split decision win against Jake Paul. Fury remains undefeated, boasting a perfect 10-0 professional record, with four of those victories coming by knockout.

Meanwhile, “The Gorilla” made his squared circle debut at Social Knockouts 3 in July, facing off in a chaotic bout against Mohammad Mutie that escalated into a takedown and an all-out brawl inside the ring.

Former UFC Title Challenger Darren Till Set To Box Tommy Fury At Misfits Event

Former UFC welterweight and middleweight contender Darren Till will be returning to the boxing ring, this time making his professional debut. Till, who competed unsuccessfully for the 170-pound gold on MMA’s biggest stage, will face Tommy Fury on Jan. 18 in the main event of a Misfits Boxing card at the Co-op Live in Manchester, England.

Ariel Helwani broke the news on social media this weekend.

Till competed in a boxing ring for the first time earlier this year, defeating Mohammad Mutie at an event in Dubai. The bout was infamous for Mutie being ruled unable to continue due to an injury from what appeared to be rabbit shots to the back of the head, but the two continued to brawl after the bout was declared over.

Darren Till To Make Professional Boxing Debut Against Tommy Fury

Till was once a rising English prospect who joined the UFC as an undefeated fighter in 2015. “The Gorilla” went 5-0-1 to start his UFC run, which included wins over Donald “Cowboy” Cerrone and Stephen “Wonderboy” Thompson.

That earned him a welterweight title shot against Tyron Woodley at UFC 228, which the Scouser lost via second-round submission.

Till went on to get knocked out by Jorge Masvidal in upset fashion, marking the start of “Gamebred’s” sudden rise to superstardom. The Brit then rebounded with a decision win over Kelvin Gastelum in his middleweight debut, but he was unable to continue that winning form at 185 pounds.

“The Gorilla’s” UFC run ended with three straight losses against Robert Whittaker, Derek Brunson, and current middleweight champ Dricus Du Plessis.

The 10-0 Fury, meanwhile — the half-brother of former WBC heavyweight champion Tyson Fury — will be fighting after being inactive throughout 2024. “”TNT” handed Jake Paul his sole boxing loss in February 2023 before a decision win over KSI eight months later.

Ex-UFC champion Benson Henderson wins boxing debut, hands Nate Diaz teammate Chris Avila his first loss - MF & DAZN: X Series 18 Highlights

Former UFC lightweight champion Benson Henderson went 10 rounds against two different opponents in his pro boxing debut on Saturday night in Newcastle, England.

After dominating the MMA scene for more than a decade, ‘Smooth’ traded in his four-ounce gloves for a pair of 10-ouncers as the Colorado Springs native looked to take home two wins and become the Pro Stake Tournament champion at the MF & DAZN: X Series 18 event on Saturday.

First up was a scrap with Chris Avila, an undefeated boxer best known for his affiliation with Stockton’s own Nate Diaz.

Avila came out strong, taking the center of the ring and pressuring Henderson into the corner, but it was ‘Smooth’ who appeared to have the upper hand early, landing some big shots and more than holding his own against the more experienced boxer. Henderson ramped up the aggressiveness in the second and seemingly took the first two rounds, though his striking began to look a bit sloppy as the fight grew longer.

Henderson’s suffocating style continued in the third with him walking down Avila, showing the former MMA fight zero respect. Avila offered some nice work to the body of Henderson, but the fight slowly began to slip away from the Stockton native. It was more of the same in the fourth and fifth rounds with ‘Smooth’ dominating the action and leaving no room for Avila to catch his breath and look for the knockout shot he desperately needed.

By the time the final bell sounded, it was clear that Henderson would see his hand raised, handing Avila the first loss of his boxing career.

Official Result: Benson Henderson def. Chris Avila via unanimous decision (49-46, 49-46, 48-47)

With the win, ‘Smooth’ moved on to a clash with Idris Virgo. ‘The Bodybreaker’ punched his ticket to the Pro Stake Tournament finals earlier in the evening with a big first-round KO against Mohammed Faisal.

Returning to the ring a few hours later for their tournament final, Virgo flew out of his corner and immediately looked to land a booming right hand against the former UFC champion. Virgo’s pressure kept ‘Smooth’ backpedaling early, but was unable to land the knockout blow he was desperately looking for.

The second and third rounds saw both fighters continue to slug it out. Virgo landed the more impactful strikes while Henderson attempted to trap his opponent against the rope, emulating a game plan he perfectly executed multiple times throughout his mixed martial arts career. That decision proved successful, particularly in the fifth round where Virgo’s offense was largely stifled by the unending pressure of Henderson.

With 10 seconds left to go, Virgo and Henderson decided to slug it out, but neither was able to put the other away, sending us to the scorecards.

Official Result: Idris Virgo def. Benson Henderson via unanimous decision (49-47, 48-47, 48-46)

Jake Paul on Influencer Boxing: "It Gets Old"

Jake Paul is tired of influencer boxing.

While some people believe that ‘The Problem Child’ only appeals to the lowest common denominator of boxing fans, there’s actually a step lower. In recent years, influencer boxing has gained some ground in the sport through promotions like Misfits Boxing and Kingpyn Boxing, organizations that promote fights with social media influencers who often bring big drama, but little to no actual skill inside the ring.

Speaking with reporters during a recent PFL media scrum, Paul was asked for his thoughts on the influencer scene. Unsurprisingly, his review was less than favorable.

“At the end of the day, it gets old watching people hit like this,” Paul said while flailing his arms around. “Unless people are getting better and progressing, why would we keep on giving $40 or however many dollars it is to watch these fights where it’s just some bullsh*t?

“The hype isn’t there anymore because it’s just the same thing. Sh*t talk and fight, but they just suck. Not many of the fighters are improving. I think that’s the main problem.”

It may sound a little hypocritical considering Paul has made a name for himself competing against a host of past-their-prime MMA stars, but at least he’s testing himself against established athletes rather than the average Joe with an above-average follower count on Insta.

Jake Paul gearing up for clash with ‘iron’ mike tyson

After scoring a sixth-round TKO against BKFC brawler ‘Platinum’ Mike Perry in July, ‘The Problem Child’ will return to the ring on Friday, November 15 when he goes toe-to-toe with one of the most dangerous boxers in the history of the sweet science, ‘Iron’ Mike Tyson.

The two generational superstars will square off inside the 80,000-seat AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas with the fight airing live on Netflix to the streaming giant’s 260+ million subscribers at no extra charge.

Paul has won four straight fights since suffering his first loss against Tommy Fury in February 2023. Overall, the YouTube sensation is 10-1 with seven of his wins coming by way of knockout. Tyson, on the other hand, will be competing in a professional boxing match for the first time in nearly two decades.

Tyson did return to the ring in 2020 for an exhibition bout with Roy Jones Jr.
