(“Just wait ’til your father gets home.”)

When you do it as a kid, you lose your Xbox privileges. When you do it as an adult, you get charged with “false imprisonment.” TMZ passes along some bizarre news from the American justice system:

UFC fighter Jason “Mayhem” Miller was arrested last week for assault after the fighter allegedly put his sister into a headlock and refused to let her go.

Law enforcement tells TMZ, Miller and his sis were at a house party in North Carolina when his sister decided she wanted to take off.* According to law enforcement, Jason’s sister claims he wouldn’t let her leave and put her into a headlock.

We’re told Jason’s sister managed to escape and notified the Chatham County Sheriff, who had Jason arrested later that evening for simple assault and false imprisonment. Jason has since posted bail and been released. Several calls to both Jason and his sister were not returned.

Miller, of course, is the host of Bully Beatdown (ironic!) and a coach on the upcoming season of The Ultimate Fighter. Hey, let Spike TV deal with it, right?

Brett Charles Rogers, 30, has been charged with assault in the third degree, domestic assault by strangulation and pattern of stalking conduct — all felonies — in Dakota County. He was also charged with endangerment of a child, a gross misdameanor.

His wife blacked out from being choked, suffered a golf ball sized wound on her face among smaller wounds. The couple’s daughter had tried to intervene after she saw Rogers strike her mother.

Rogers admits he had been drinking before an argument broke out with he and his wife. He claims she punched him and he returned force.

The local fighter made his first court appearance Thursday. Bail was set at $100,00 with conditions. He is again expected in court Friday at 11 a.m.

Update: For more disturbing details, you can read the full criminal complaint here. Most notably, Rogers’s two daughters reported that he had struck and choked them within the last two years. Also, after the alleged assault, “T.R. [Brett’s wife, Tiuana Rogers] was located by other officers walking by a nearby school. T.R. had obvious signs of injury on her face, including a golf ball size bump above her left eyebrow, a bump on her right eyebrow, and one in the middle of her forehead, injuries to her ears and jaw, along with blood on her face and a missing tooth. She also had injuries to her neck and back. T.R. repeatedly denied that she had been assaulted and said she had simply fallen on the ground.” After she was released from the hospital that afternoon, she refused to meet with an investigating officer, and “told him that the assault was her fault.” Tight ship you’re running there, Brett.

Hermes Franca Releases Statement From Jail Following Sexual Abuse Arrest

(“I am ashamed to admit that along the way I lost sight of what is truly important [in] life.”)

After being arrested last month for multiple counts of sexual abuse and unlawful sexual penetration on a victim under the age of 14, former UFC lightweight Hermes Franca has been cooling in Clackamas County Jail in Oregon City, Oregon, awaiting his July 12th trial date. Yesterday, he posted a letter on the UG in which he reflected on his life, and expressed regret about the way he sometimes lived it. Check it out:

Hello,

This is not a statement regarding my current legal situation. On these matters I must trust I God and the United States Judicial System. I believe that in time the truth will prevail, as it always does. I am releasing this statement to assure you all that I am safe! With peace and serenity in my heart I write these words:

In the year 2000 I arrived in the United States with $300, spoke very little English and had a dream bigger than most.

Over the past decade I have had an “unbelievable” life, and “unbelievable” MMA career. God has granted me the privilege of traveling to many beautiful places, meeting numerous wonderful people and I have personally witnessed dreams come true… My Dreams! I tell you the truth when I say, I am blessed!

God has granted me the privilege of traveling to many beautiful places, meeting numerous wonderful people and I have personally witnessed dreams come true… My Dreams! I tell you the truth when I say, I am blessed!

I recently read a quote by David Goetz that stated, “Too much of the good life ends up being toxic, deforming us spiritually.” Wow! This honestly hits home in my heart. I am ashamed to admit that along the way I lost sight of what is truly important [in] life, God and unconditional love for my family and friends. These are the things that should matter.

I admit that at times I have been selfish, sometimes acting as if I knew what was better for my life than God himself. I am sorry for this behavior and I have much regret. Drinking, women, parties, all part of a lifestyle that has led to my failing as a husband, a father, a dreamer.

I am now a man with very little freedom. Still, I am a human being, a son of God, a fighter at heart. I will not let this keep me down.

Lastly, I would like to share with you some important things I have learned. Put God above all, find your passion, and follow your heart. Respect all women and men in your life. Respect yourself enough to take care of yourself and your family. “God is Love”.

You are in my prayers. Please continue to pray for me. I love you all.

God Bless,

Hermes Franca

I have a feeling that Franca’s big-house blogs will be a lot less zany than War Machine’s. Anybody feel like writing him a letter?

By Ben Goldstein and Jason Moles

The rule applies in any profession: For every law-abiding nice-guy, there’s an unstable son-of-a-bitch who you’d never want to leave your kids alone with. In honor of Breaking Bad: The Complete Third Season being released on DVD and Blu-ray, we decided to take a ride through MMA’s shadowy history of assault, robbery, vandalism, drug-smuggling, and other nasty behavior — the most infamous examples of fighters living dangerously and paying the price…

#16: Jeff Monson
Arrested for: First-degree malicious mischief; assault on a female and injury to real property

It’s never a good idea to have evidence of your law-breaking published nationally. In a bizarre lapse of judgment, heavyweight veteran Jeff Monson was busted after he allowed ESPN the Magazine to photograph him spray-painting an anarchy symbol on the Washington state capitol building. Though the charge packed a maximum sentence of 10 years in prison, the Snowman was able to plead down to three months. Just days later, Monson was arrested again when a domestic dust-up with one of his many love-interests resulted in an overturned grandfather clock and a fist-shaped hole in the wall; those charges were later dismissed.

#15: Kim Couture
Arrested for: Domestic violence

#15: Kim Couture
Arrested for: Domestic violence

Last May, MMA’s most famous ex-wife ended an argument with her personal assistant by choking and shaking her on a bed. Couture was reportedly upset that the assistant wanted to move out of her house after living there for three weeks. The original report left us with these unsettling lines: “It seems that part of the friction that developed between the victim and Ms. Couture was that Ms. Couture was extremely controlling; she wouldn’t permit the victim any autonomy; and the implication that Ms. Couture wanted something more from the victim than just personal assistant services.”

#14: Harold Howard
Arrested for: Aggravated assault, assault causing bodily harm, dangerous driving, failing to remain at the scene of an accident, etc.

The short version? He attacked two relatives with a claw hammer, then crashed his pick-up truck through the front doors of a Niagara Falls casino. It was later revealed that Howard had been self-medicating with a head-scrambling blend of Oxycocet, Gabapentin, and sleeping pills. Which begs the question: What was he on when he was cutting promos for UFC 3?

#13: Kimo Leopoldo
Arrested for: Possession of a controlled substance, impersonating an officer

The famously undead UFC veteran was arrested in 2009 for hanging out in a Long Beach Police Department jumpsuit with drugs in his car. Leopoldo pleaded no-contest to stealing the police uniform, which earned him a mere 10 days of community service. However, what was first reported as meth turned out to be marijuana instead — still bad, but not lock ‘em up bad. After agreeing to a stint in rehab and three years’ probation, the misdemeanor charges were dropped.

#12: Vyacheslav Datsik
Arrested for: Escaping from a Russian mental hospital by tearing through a chain link fence with his bare hands; he had been behind bars for three years for a previous string of armed robberies and death threats.

After a month on the lam, the nutty self-professed racist turned himself in to authorities in Norway, bringing along two loaded pistols for no good reason. The last we heard, he’d been granted temporary asylum in Norway after a Norwegian police psychiatrist argued that Datsik had been intentionally misdiagnosed as insane due to his undesirable political leanings. What the hell? Don’t these dudes have YouTube?

#11: Jeremy Jackson
Arrested for: Forcible rape, kidnapping to commit another crime, first-degree residential burglary, assault with a firearm, dissuading a witness by force or threat, and criminal threats.

In 2008, the TUF 4 castmember was accused of breaking into an ex-girlfriend’s house and raping her at gunpoint. During the trial, the victim’s credibility came under fire, and it seemed that Jackson had a shot at going free. But Jackson changed his mind midway through and decided to plead guilty, going against the advice of his lawyer. According to one juror, Jackson “only pleaded guilty because he was depressed and wanted the trial to end.” He was sentenced to 25 years to life in prison.

Last Sunday, Rodriguez commissioned a cab driver to take him to a bar in Ahwatukee called the Garage.

When the cab fare came to $70, Rodriguez allegedly refused to give the driver more than $20. They got into an argument and the cab driver called 911.

Rodriguez grabbed the man and tossed him to the ground, according to police. When officers tried to take him into custody, he allegedly pushed one of them into a wall.

He’s a big guy — according to his jail booking information, Rodriguez is 6’2″ and 235 lbs.

Police say it took two Phoenix Police officers and an off-duty officer to get him under control.

“It’s our policy to handcuff behind — that did not occur. He was struggling with the officers, flailing his arms… one of the officers was pushed against the wall, and we believe at that point he sustained a minor injury or cut to his elbow,” says Sgt. Steve Martos.

Rodriguez is facing charges of assault and resisting arrest. He is a former Ultimate Fighting Championship heavyweight champion and currently competes in MMA.

Rodriguez also had a brief stint on VH1′s reality show Celebrity Rehab.

Rodriguez last competed at BAMMA 5 in February, winning a unanimous decision over TUF 10 vet James McSweeney after missing weight for the second time in a row. It was his 11th-consecutive victory.
