Yup, Mayhem Miller Got Arrested Yesterday. Again.

Ladies and Gentlemen of the Potato Nation, Jason “Mayhem” Miller has entered Kat Williams Mode.

Yes, after being arrested twice in the past two weeks for felony domestic violence and releasing a bizarre “apology” that channeled both Damian Marley and Buffalo Bill, the former Strikeforce and UFC middleweight has been arrested again, according to FOX Sport’s Mike Chiappetta. There are no details as of yet in regards to the newest charges Miller was brought in on, but we’re gonna take a swing at it and say domestic violence.

Including his previous arrests in 2011 and 2012 for assault and bath salt B&E, respectively, this latest case brings the total number of times Miller has been arrested to five, yet he has once again been released on bond. And here you were questioning the competency of the American justice system. We hope you feel foolish.

There’s not much else to say, really (which is pretty much what I said the last time I touched upon Mayhem’s downward spiral). The story of Jason Miller has gone from bad to worse. To worse. To “Are you fucking kidding me?!” At this point, we just hope that Miller can somehow find help before he winds up killing someone, God forbid. Unfortunately, it doesn’t seem like he’s trying all that hard to find it.

We will keep you updated as information is made available. Even if none such information is provided, we figure Mayhem is more than likely planning to give a public statement from the top of Mount Doom (or wherever he’s currently calling home) any day now. We’re glass half full kind of guys.

Jason ‘Mayhem’ Miller Arrested Again on Felony Domestic Violence Charge, Is Currently Being Held on Bond

(We hope you find the strength to leave him, Noodles. / Image via ennvy)

For the third time since his retirement in May 2012, Jason “Mayhem” Miller has been arrested. According to records, the Orange County Sheriff’s Department arrested Miller on Thursday and the ex-fighter is being held on a $50,000 bond.

Miller’s next court appearance is scheduled for Monday. According to Bloody Elbow, “Mayhem” has been charged with corporal injury of a spouse or domestic partner which is a felony. Less than two weeks ago, on August 11th, Miller was also arrested on domestic violence charges and was released after posting bond.

In 2012, shortly after his retirement, Miller was arrested for allegedly breaking into a California church. Before that, “Mayhem” was arrested in 2011 after a fight with his sister.

We’re not really sure what to say at this point, ‘Taters. For years, it appeared as if Miller was simply having a good time, fighting hard and playing up the more silly parts of his personality. But now it’s evident that he is having problems keeping himself out of bad situations, almost all of them involving alleged violence against others.

We’ll keep you posted with updates as they occur.

Donald Cerrone Slapped With Misdemeanor Assault Charge for ‘Boat Rage’ Incident

(Cowboy, on a boat, in happier times.)

CagePotato.com has confirmed that UFC lightweight contender Donald “Cowboy” Cerrone was charged with Third Degree Assault, following an alleged physical altercation in Grand County, Colorado on June 29th. According to a statement released to CagePotato by the Grand County Colorado Sheriff’s Department:

Donald A. Cerrone, 30 years of age, has been charged with Third Degree Assault by a summons to court, and it is a Class One Misdemeanor. There is no warrant for him at this time. Mr. Cerrone and another person, Jeffrey S. Aley, were involved in a boating rage incident (similar to road rage but by use of boats) on Lake Granby. The incident escalated to the point where Mr. Cerrone assaulted Mr. Aley. Mr. Aley was also charged with Reckless Operation of a boat and Reckless Endangerment, a Class Three Misdemeanor. The case is still ongoing, and has not been concluded in court.

This isn’t the first time that Cerrone has let his temper get away from him outside of the Octagon. In October 2010, Cerrone derailed an MMA event in New Mexico when he punched headliner Marcus Sursa, the ex-boyfriend of Cerrone’s then-girlfriend.

Cerrone last competed in May, when he scored a unanimous decision win against KJ Noons at UFC 160, and he’s slated to fight Rafael Dos Anjos next Wednesday at UFC Fight Night 27: Condit vs. Kampmann 2. We’ll update you when more details come to light about his latest misadventure.

And Now He’s Fired: Reza Madadi, Purse-Snatcher Extraordinaire, Released From UFC Contract

(Further proof that handbag thievery is a dangerous game to get into.)

We all saw this coming.

Following last week’s report that UFC lightweight Reza Madadi had been sentenced to a year and a half behind bars for his role in the theft of over $150,000 in handbags (or as they are called in NYC “Fancy Boy European Carryalls“), it appears that the UFC has severed their ties with the Swedish prospect. An official statement was released via their website yesterday:

Following his conviction by a court of law in Sweden, the UFC organization has elected to terminate its relationship with Reza Madadi based on its Fighter Code of Conduct and the provision of its promotional agreement concerning fighter conduct.

Does anyone else wonder how Matt Hughes managed to stretch the above paragraph into an 8 hour work day?

“Do you want this in Times New Roman or the standard Calibri body, Dana? Dana?”

Madadi was last seen competing in his home country at UFC on FUEL: Mousasi vs. That Other Guy, where he improved his octagon record to 2-1 with a third round submission via D’arce victory over Michael Johnson. In retrospect, we should all just assume that Madadi’s arrest and possibly his decision to compete in MMA in the first place was all part of an elaborate ruse designed to draw attention away from Barack Obama so he could steal the Hope Diamond. BOOM BABY!

After the jump: A Colombian purse snatcher gets hit by a bus. I don’t know, it seems relevant to me.

UFC Lightweight Reza Madadi Sentenced to 1.5 Years in Prison For Role in Handbag Heist

“Handbag Heist” might be the sissiest sounding crime in the history of crimes committed by MMA fighters, but it doesn’t change the fact that UFC lightweight Reza Madadi is headed to a year and a half in Swedish prison for it nonetheless.

“Mad Dog,” who was arrested for stealing over $150,000 in handbags following a “dramatic car chase” (some of which was captured on the surveillance video above) back in May, was convicted of grand larceny yesterday. Aftonbladet.se has the details:

It was about five o’clock on the morning of 24 May, three men carried out the smash and grab-coup against the exclusive väskaffären Bottega Veneta on West Higgins Road in central Stockholm.

They should have brought with them bags of SEK 1.7 million. Surveillance film from the store shows the men smashing the door, enters and booms store.

Reza “Mad dog” Madadi and his friend were arrested at a workshop in Åkersberga by police just one hour after the attack. Martial Comforter stated in court that he was there to pick up a rental car.

In the workshop, the police found the cell phone, balaclava, a sledgehammer and clothes that were used in the burglary.

1.5 years just for weed handbags? Damn!

According to his Wikipedia page, Madadi “was previously charged for being part of the Västberga helicopter robbery but was later freed from all charges.” Now THAT is a crime I can get behind.

Meanwhile, Lee Murray is rotting away in a Moroccan prison for his role in the most badass heist in the history of London. Do I sound like I am endorsing crime? Because that is not the case, unless it involves a stolen helicopter. I call it the Goldeneye rule of thumb.

Jason ‘Mayhem’ Miller Releases Rastafarian-Themed Apology Following His Domestic Violence Arrest, And It Is F*cking Crazy

(We still haven’t tracked down Miller’s latest mugshot, but in the meantime, here’s a photo of him in drag dancing with a sexy cop.)

In his first public statement since he allegedly beat up a woman at his home, former MMA fighter Jason “Mayhem” Miller has published a post on his official website apologizing and asking for forgiveness. Now, admitting guilt on the Internet might not be the wisest move from a legal perspective if he intends to fight the charges later. Then again, he might be building an airtight case for temporary insanity. Check out Miller’s statement below, along with our annotations…

To Who it Concerns:

I and I** beg for forgiveness. If I have brought shame or pain upon Anna, her Father, her Mother, her Sister, her children and Shiloh. Know this; JAH THE ALMIGHTY*** SHALL JUDGE AND NO-MAN.

I LOVE YOU.

I APOLOGIZE WITH ALL MY HEART, DURING THE MOST CHALLENGING TIME OF MY life, I ask only for YOU TO UNNASTAN. 33.****

* “Hear me now” (pronounced “ear mih nah”) is a common expression in reggae/dancehall music, as well as in reggae/dancehall parodies.

** “I and I” is a Rastafari expression used to signify the oneness of God and Man.

*** “Jah” is the Rastafari name for God.

**** Unclear. Miller may have been pondering the timeless mystery of the Rolling Rock bottle.

***** As far as I can tell, Mayhem is phonetically transcribing Acts 3:19 in tagalog. Acts 3:19 reads, “Repent, then, and turn to God, so that your sins may be wiped out, that times of refreshing may come from the Lord.” Makes sense.

****** i.e., the Lion of Judah, an Ethiopian symbol for Emperor Haile Selassie I borrowed by the Rastafari movement. When used by an American, it often signifies a disturbing shift in identity.

So yeah, pretty bizarre stuff. We can only hope that one day, after he’s released from jail, Mayhem can look back on this insanity and blame it on sleep-deprivation and energy drinks.
