UFC on Fox Sports 1: Shogun vs. Sonnen is expected to take place on August 17, 2013 at the TD Garden in Boston, Massachusetts. Headlining will be former UFC champ Mauricio ‘Shogun’ Rua vs. Chael Sonnen.

Elliott holds a 1-1 record with the top promotion after debuting in May 2012, losing to John Dodson at the UFC on FOX 3 event. Bellator’s Season 8 welterweight final between Douglas ‘The Phenom’ Lima (24-5) and Ben ‘Killa B’ Saunders (16-5-2) appears to be on hold once again another reported injury to Lima.

According to Sherdog.com Lima has suffered torn cartilage in his ribs which has forced him out of a rescheduled bout with Saunders for end July at Bellator 97.

The two were to have met in the Season 8 final at Bellator 93 earlier this year but was cancelled after ‘The Phenom’ suffered a broken hand.

This match will mark the second time these two welterweights have met in a Bellator tournament final with Lima winning their first meeting back in November 2011. ‘The Phenom’ would stop his friend by knockout at Bellator 57 to claim the $100,000 check and a shot at the title.

Lima would go on to lose by decision to champ Ben Askren but has rattled off three straight wins since then. Two of those victories include Season 8 tournament wins with the first against Michail Tsarev by TKO at Bellator 86 and the second over Bryan Baker by KO at Bellator 90.

Saunders went on to compete in the Season 6 and now Season 8 welterweight tournaments since the loss to Lima. In Season 6 ‘Killa B’ was knocked out of the tournament in the semifinals after a decision loss Baker. Saunders is currently on a three-fight win streak which includes Season 8 tournament wins over Koffi Adzitso and Raul Amaya.

A pair of featherweight fighters have been named as opponents for this August’s trip to Indianapolis by the Ultimate Fighting Championship pitting Darren ‘The Damage’ Elkins (16-3) against Japanese fighter Hatsu Hioki (26-6-2).

News of the bout was announced late Monday (June 10, 2013) afternoon by ESPN.

UFC on Fox Sports 1: Condit vs. Kampmann is expected to take place on August 28, 2013 at the Bankers Life Fieldhouse in Indianapolis, Indiana. The event is headlined by a welterweight rematch featuring former UFC contender Carlos Condit and Martin Kampmann.

Elkins suffered his first loss competing at 145-lbs last April seeing a five fight win streak end at the hands of Chad Mendes. The two fought at UFC on FOX 7 which had Elkins losing in 68-seconds via TKO. ‘The Damage’ had earned victories over Antonio Carvalho, Steven Siler, Diego Brandao, Zhang Tiequan and Michihiro Omigawa in his previous streak.

Hioki looks to avoid three losses in a row and a release slip by the top promotion versus Elkins. The Japanese fighter lost a split decision this past January against Clay Guida at UFC on FOX 6, while losing a decision versus Ricardo Lamas in June of last year at UFC on FX 4. The losses put Hioki’s record inside the Octagon at 2-2.
