Israel Adesanya is back!

According to a report from knockoutalerts on Instagram, a scrap between ‘The Last Stylebender’ and Nassourdine Imavov is in the works to headline the UFC’s second event in Saudi Arabia on February 1. MMAMania.com’s Alex Behunin confirmed that Adesanya vs. Imavov is the planned main event for the promotion’s return to Riyadh, though he noted that contracts have not yet been signed.

Adesanya will be coming off back-to-back losses for the first time in his mixed martial arts career, suffering a decisive decision defeat against Sean Strickland at UFC 293 before falling in the fourth round against Dricus Du Plessis at UFC 305 in August.

The ‘Stylebender’ has competed in 12 straight UFC championship bouts dating back to April 2019. If his clash with Imavov does come to fruition, it will be Adesanya’s first non-title fight since a win over Anderson Silva at UFC 234.

Since a loss to Sean Strickland in January 2023, Imavov has been on a roll, scoring a trio of wins against Roman Dolidze, Jared Cannonier, and Brendan Allen. Overall, the ‘Russian Sniper’ is 15-4 in his mixed martial arts career and currently sits as the No. 5 ranked middleweight contender in the UFC.

A victory over Adesanya would undoubtedly be the biggest of his career, thrusting him toward the top of the contender’s list and setting the stage for his first shot at UFC gold.

Thus far, four other bouts have been lined up for the UFC’s return to Saudi Arabia. They include:

  • Ikram Aliskerov vs. Andre Muniz
  • Sergei Pavlovich vs. Jairzinho Rozenstruik
  • Hamdy Abdelwahab vs. Jamal Pogues
  • Shara Magomedov vs. Michael Page
  • Jasmine Jasudavicius vs. Mayra Bueno Silva

Conor McGregor Fuels Jon Jones vs. Tom Aspinall Hype: ‘He Can’t Sleep at Night’

Conor McGregor wants to see Jon Jones fight Tom Aspinall.

After Jones’ third-round TKO against Stipe Miocic at UFC 309 to retain the undisputed heavyweight title, ‘Bones’ left the door open for a return to the Octagon and indicated that a unification clash with Aspinall — the promotion’s current interim champion — was definitely in the cards.

Conor McGregor

Aspinall, who was on hand at MSG and banked 200k just to weigh in as the official backup for the heavyweight headliner, thinks Jones’ ego is what will ultimately lead to their long-awaited showdown finally coming to fruition.

“I think he secretly wants it,’ Aspinall told Ariel Helwani. ‘Because he has a gigantic ego, and he should have, he’s one of the best fighters ever. He hates the fact that people are saying that I could beat him, he can’t sleep at night.

“He keeps mentioning it over and over again that he doesn’t care about me, he thinks he’s above me and all that. This is all projecting, all of it. He knows, deep down he knows and he just has to keep saying it because he has to defend himself” (h/t DailyMail).

Once Aspinall’s comments made the rounds on social media, McGregor chimed in and offered a not-so-favorable review of some of the Brit’s recent sparring footage.

Conor McGregor

“That footage of him looking woeful vs Rico Verhoeven is good footage to watch for Jon,” McGregor wrote in a since-deleted post on X. “I’ve warmed to this matchup, I think it should happen.”

To be fair, Verhoeven — the reigning GLORY Kickboxing heavyweight champion and undefeated in nearly a decade — is considered by many to be the greatest kickboxer on the planet. Verhoeven has trained with Aspinall for many years. The UFC star shared clips of the two sparring together earlier this month on YouTube.

Dominick Cruz got into a heated back-and-forth with Dominance MMA manager Ali Abdelaziz after answering he would compete one final time in 2025.

Last week, ‘The Dominator’ revealed in an interview with TMZ Sports that he would return to the Octagon after the new year for one last dance on MMA’s biggest stage.

gettyimages 1358505922 612x612 1

“I think I got a last dance, I got one last dance in me, just to go out there and go have fun,” Cruz said. “And when I say ‘fun’ I mean ‘fight to the bitter death and see what I have in me.’ The fun comes months after that, that’s where it gets to set in and okay, that was fun.

“But I’m ready to walk into the fire again and see what life and death really looks like. And one more go at that would be a pleasure. So I’m building myself up, I’m at altitude, I’m out here in Mexico City [at the UFC Performance Institute]. Some of the best training I’ve ever had in my whole career.”

Following Cruz’s announcement, UFC play-by-play man Jon Anik took to social media and suggested a rematch with Henry Cejudo as the former two-time bantamweight titleholder’s swan song.

As it turns out, Anik’s suggestion sparked a war of words between Cruz and Abdelaziz, Cejudo’s manager. After Abdelaziz commented on Anik’s post saying a fight with Cruz would be “easy money for Henry,” ‘The Dominator’ snapped back.

Dominick Cruz

“You are simply a work mule…Your words hold no weight,” Cruz replied.

“Also, one more thing the only weight you hold is commentating on the desk, I promise you I hold a lot more weight than you in this game,” Abdelaziz wrote back.

“It’s easy money for you-as you get a percentage paid by your fighter no matter what, while you chat sh*t that you personally cannot back up,” Cruz clapped back. “You have no skin in the game, that’s what makes you weak.

Abdelaziz says he won’t take a percentage from Cejudo if dominick cruz accepts the fight

After exchanging words, Abdelaziz said that if Cruz accepted the fight, he wouldn’t take a percentage of Cejudo’s purse.

“I will make you a deal if you fight Henry I will take zero percentage from,” Abdelaziz wrote. “I just want to see him whoop your ass and I’m sure Henry will make a lot more money than you do, you have my word as a man I will take zero percentage” (h/t BJPenn.com).

Cruz and Cejudo previously met at UFC 249 in May 2020. On that night, ‘Triple C’ scored a TKO over Cruz in the waning seconds of the second round to retain the bantamweight title. Cejudo then immediately vacated the belt, announcing he would be retiring from the sport.

Dominick Cruz

Since then, Cejudo has returned to the Octagon, losing back-to-back bouts against Aljamain Sterling and Merab Dvalishvili.

Dakota Ditcheva vs. Taila Santos PFL 2024

The upcoming PFL MMA fight between Dakota Ditcheva and Taila Santos is shaping up to be an exciting matchup between two highly skilled fighters with contrasting backgrounds and styles. This match goes down on November 29 and is a tournament final with one million dollars on the line.

Dakota Ditcheva vs. Taila Santos

In this matchup, Dakota Ditcheva is considered the favorite to win, while Taila Santos is the underdog. This likely has to do with how impressive Ditcheva has looked in her last several bouts winning nearly all of them by way of KO/TKO. If you like to play the odds then you can play the odds and games while betting with real money right here.

Additionally, MMA fighter and Olympic Judoka Kayla Harrison did not hesitate to pick ‘Dangerous’ Dakota Ditcheva over Talia Santos. In an interview with MMA Junkie, Harrison explained, “She’s just so f*cking good … I think she’s going to knock her out, second round … She is the real deal. She’s the full package, and I’m super excited for her. I think this is about to be a big coming-out party when she makes it look easy.”

‘Dangerous’ Dakota Ditcheva is an undefeated prodigy of MMA who has power in her kicks and punches having won an impressive 11 of her professional bouts by way of KO/TKO. She comes from a strong Muay Thai and Kickboxing background, taught by her mother Lisa Howarth since she was a child. Howarth held striking titles in Kickboxing, Karate, and Muay Thai.

The UK-born Dakota Ditcheva was a three-time Junior Amateur World Champion in Muay Thai before transitioning to MMA full-time in 2019. She has been making waves in the PFL, winning the inaugural PFL Europe Women’s Flyweight tournament in 2023 and continuing her success in the global PFL scene in 2024. She has now reached the finals, having won all of her matches by first-round KO, and is set to face Talia Santos.

Brazil’s Taila Santos brings a wealth of experience to the cage. With a 22-3 record, Santos is a former UFC title challenger who gave Valentina Shevchenko a tough fight for the UFC Flyweight Championship in 2022. Santos has a well-rounded skill set, with victories coming by knockout, submission, and decision. Since joining the PFL after her UFC stint, Santos has maintained her momentum with three consecutive wins.

Stylistically, ‘Dangerous‘ Ditcheva is expected to rely heavily on her Muay Thai background, using her powerful kicks, knees, and punches to control the fight on the feet. Santos is competent in striking, but will likely look to mix things up by taking the fight to the ground or controlling in the clinch against the cage, where she has shown great proficiency against fighters such as Valentina Shevchenko.

The championship fight is generating buzz in the MMA community. Santos’ experience and previous performance against top-tier competition make her a formidable opponent. This matchup will test Ditcheva and be an important moment in her career. It all goes down at PFL 10 2024 hosted in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia on November 29.

Conor McGregor Calls For Dana White to Cut Michael Chandler Following Latest Loss at UFC 309

Conor McGregor thinks Michael Chandler should be cut after coming up short at UFC 309. Okay, not really, but we all knew the Irish megastar would eventually react to Chandler’s latest loss one way or another.

After waiting the better part of two years for a fight with McGregor that never came to fruition, the former Bellator champion returned to the Octagon on Saturday night for a rematch with former lightweight titleholder Charles Oliveira. Chandler delivered another exciting showing that had fight fans on their feet — particularly in the fifth and final round — but it wasn’t enough to land in the win column.

‘Do Bronx’ leaned on his BJJ skills to take an early lead against ‘Iron’ and never look back, setting himself up for a potential rematch with reigning lightweight king Islam Makhachev — once the ‘Dagestani Destroyer’ takes care of a bit of business with Arman Tsarukyan.

McGregor, who was long-tied to a fight with Chandler until ‘Iron’ ultimately decided to move on, reacted to his former TUF foe’s loss on social media.

Conor McGregor

“Cut Michael Chandler! Just kidding, good fight,” McGregor wrote in a since-deleted post on X. “Mad little fellow is Michael. I like ’em!”

Dana White assures conor mcGregor that ‘Iron’ isn’t going anywhere

Even if McGregor was sincere in his initial statement, it sounds like Dana White has no intention of letting Chandler go.

“He’s like an Arturo Gatti,” White said during the UFC 309 post-fight press conference. “He’s one of those — win, lose, or draw, you’re never bummed out at the end of a Michael Chandler fight. He’s always exciting, he’s always fun. In the last round of that fight, he kept getting taken down.

“He got on his back. So when he got on his back at the end, he just stood up and started slamming him…The kid always tries to win. He always comes to fight, and Michael Chandler’s always going to have a home here. Until he decides to retire, Michael Chandler isn’t going anywhere” (h/t MMA Mania).

On paper, Chandler’s record isn’t exactly anything to write home about. He’s 2-4 with losses against the likes of Justin Gaethje, Dustin Poirier, and Charles Oliveira. But those who watched those fights know the value that ‘Iron’ brings to any UFC card he’s connected to.
