Henry Cejudo retirement UFC 288 If i can't make history I'm not doing this sh*t

Former undisputed UFC bantamweight and flyweight champion, Henry Cejudo has once again flirted with a potential second retirement from professional mixed martial arts competition, off the back of a split decision defeat against current undisputed bantamweight best, Aljamain Sterling in his Octagon return over the weekend.

Cejudo, a former duel-weight champion and Olympic gold medalist in freestyle wrestling, snapped a three-year retirement from MMA over the course of the weekend, headlining UFC 288 against Uniondale native, Sterling in Newark, New Jersey.

Dropping a close, competitive split decision (48-47, 47-48, 47-48) defeat to the Serra-Longo MMA staple, Cejudo remained immediately coy on his fighting future in the sport.

“I just don’t know Joe (Rogan), I just don’t know,” Henry Cejudo said following UFC 288. “You tell me. It was close but Aljamain (Sterling) did his jo, he got the victory. It sucks man. I hate losing but it’s also been three years. I just don’t know where to take it from here, Joe. I’m a little confused right now. Whether I continue, it’s like Ricky Bobby, if I’m not first, I’m last. If I can’t beat Alja, my biggest goal was to go to 145 pounds. If I can’t get the victory over him then I just know where that puts me.”

Henry Cejudo uncertain on future following UFC 288 decision defeat

Addressing his fighting future once again on his official Twitter account, Los Angeles-born wrestler, Cejudo claimed that if he can’t “make history”, he would likely consider a second retirement from the sport.

“Congrats to @funkmastermma (Aljamain Sterling) on a competitive fight,” Henry Cejudo tweeted. “My goal was to finish Aljo, and I fell short. What’s next? If I can’t make history, then I’m not doing this sh*t. I’m addicted to gold and climbing mountains. All I can say is – stay tuned.”

KSI Andrew Tate

KSI is not at all impressed after watching recently leaked footage of Andrew Tate and a fan engaging in a heated sparring match. The video shows Tate boxing a smaller man, and for almost the entirety of the video Tate struggled with his smaller opponent. Known for his egotistical attitude, Andrew Tate has recently been released from a Romanian jail on house arrest after sex trafficking charges.

UK youtube sensation and boxer KSI thought the recent video of Andrew Tate having a hard time by the shorter man was hilarious and released a tweet ridiculing Tate.

Andrew Tate performs a sparring match, KSI gives his reaction on Twitter

After struggling with this opponent throughout the video, Andrew Tate scored a body shot and knocks the wind out of his opponent. “From watching this, I would absolutely DESTROY Andrew Tate,” KSI said on Twitter. “Watch me on May 13th for those that don’t believe me.”

Andrew Tate had a comeback, and it seemed convenient. “I was literally teaching him, and telling him what to do,” Tate said on Twitter. The video clearly shows no words were exchanged as the two sparred, and the man half his size had the head movement and footwork of a boxer with at least a few years of experience under his belt.

“I wasn’t even punching back,” Tate said, although the video shows him winging punches. While this was just a sparring bout, many people across the world would surely love to see Andrew Tate face a real boxer in the squared circle or even kickbox as he once did professionally.

What did you think of Andrew Tate’s performance in that sparring match?

Jake Shields

Jake Shields’ challenge to take on ten trans men back-to-back has been answered.

Shields, a former Strikeforce middleweight champion who fizzled out of the sport in 2018 following a run under the PFL banner, has kept his name in the headlines thanks to his controversial and downright disgusting views toward the transgender community. Despite being repeatedly suspended from social media platforms like Twitter for his transphobic takes, the lay-and-pray specialist routinely finds his way back online to offer his outlandish takes.

Recently, Shields made a lot of enemies, and a shocking amount of allies, for his belief that those who aid in the transition of children should be subject to public execution.

Putting his money where his mouth is, Jake Shields offered up a challenge to the community he seems to loathe so much. He offered to fight ten of the toughest trans men on the same night, leading one to suspect that Shields had just gotten done watching the 1992 film ‘Diggstown’ and had a lightbulb moment.

Since trans men are real men I would like to challenge the 10 toughest trans men in the world to a fight.” Taking things a step further, Shields agreed to fight them with “no training and no rest between each fight.”

Amateur Wrestler Mack Beggs Accepts Jake Shields’ Challenge

After some additional goading from Jake Shields, one individual stepped up to the plate. Mack Beggs, an amateur wrestler and transgender man, delivered a scathing response to the California native. Beggs accepted Shields’ challenge but suggested that they keep it one-on-one.

‘We just going to make this an official call out, but Jake Shields I will take you up on your offer,’ he said. But the offer isn’t going to be 10 versus one and 10 trans men you’re going to be fighting for the rest of the night,” Beggs said.

“You’re going to do a one-on-one type match. You’re going to do it right,” Beggs continued. “If you’re going to call yourself a fighter do it f*cking right. Like, that’s just f***ing disrespectful. It’s disrespectful to the sport of MMA for you to just be like ‘oh yeah let me just call out 10 trans men and I’ll f*cking whoop them” (h/t Outkick.com)

Beggs went on to suggest that the constant attention that his community gets from Jake Shields and his equally pathetic allies could be due to a secret fetish masked as disdain.

“It’s the fact that y’all are so fixated and hyper-fixated and have some f*cking fetish with trans women that you even forget that we f*cking out here and we going to f*ck you up.

“I’m specifically going to f*ck you up Jake Shields,” Beggs concluded.

Beggs is a former high school wrestler from Euless, Texas. In 2017, Beggs made headlines after he won the Texas girls’ 110-pound championship despite identifying as a male. However, it was not Beggs’ choice to compete in the girls’ division. Texas state legislation dictated that individuals were only allowed to compete in the division for the gender assigned at birth.

Top-ranked bantamweight contenders Sean O’Malley and Merab Dvalishvili nearly got into a brawl of their own at UFC 288 after ‘The Machine’ decided to try on O’Malley’s jacket without permission.

In the evening’s main event, 135-pound champion Aljamain Sterling successfully defended his title, scoring a closely-contested split decision win over the returning Olympic gold medalist, Henry Cejudo. Following the contest, Sean O’Malley entered the Octagon and engaged in a heated face-off with ‘Funk Master.’ As things began to escalate, O’Malley removed his jacket which ended up in the hands of division standout Merab Dvalishvili who was in Sterling’s corner during the evening’s headliner.

Not one to miss out on an opportunity, Dvalishvili threw on the jacket and climbed to the top of the cage, showing off his newly acquired swag.

Merab Dvalishvili Reacts to Altercation with Sean O’Malley

‘Sugar’ Sean O’Malley was far from entertained and had to be restrained by officials inside the Octagon before Dvalishvili returned the jacket to its rightful owner. Backstage, Dvalishvili commented on the incident in a video clip which you can see below:

With Sean O’Malley sitting as the No. 2 ranked contender in the division, he is expected to be the next man to challenge Aljamain Sterling for the 135-pound crown. During their heated exchange, O’Malley and Sterling appeared to agree on a September setting for their bantamweight clash. That event would likely be UFC 293 though no official announcements have been made.

Sugar’ earned his spot near the top of the division after besting former UFC champion Petr Yan in a highly-debatable split decision win last year. The controversial victory extended O’Malley’s streak to four in a row and a winner in six of his last seven bouts. ‘Funk Master’ scored his third-straight title defense with the win over Cejudo. That extended his current win streak to nine dating back to 2018.

Alana McLaughlin

Transgender MMA fighter Alana McLaughlin has agreed to a potential fight with former Strikeforce middleweight champion Jake Shields.

The two parties have engaged in a war of words as of late with Shields openly lobbying against the LGBTQ community. Or as he calls them, “the alphabet people.” Shields has specifically taken aim at transgender individuals and their allies, even suggesting that those who support the transition of children be publicly executed.

Recently, Shield laid down a challenge to the trans community on Twitter, suggesting that he would take on “the 10 toughest trans men in the world” with no training or rest in between each opponent. Wrestler Mack Beggs, a trans man, accepted the challenge, but Shields appears to believe that it was Alana McLaughlin accepting. Responding to a picture of ‘Lady Feral’ on social media, Shields said, “This dude blocked me so someone tell him I accept his offer.”

Alana McLaughlin Accepts Jake Shields’ Challenge

Alana McLaughlin took the opportunity to accept Shield’s challenge, laying down some pretty serious conditions for a potential scrap inside the cage.

“Drop to 145 and go on puberty blockers for six months and I’d be glad to,” McLaughlin tweeted. “Sorry, but I’m not taking steroids to be a lay-and-pray fighter.”

Puberty blockers are exactly what they sound like. Medications that are designed to suppress the body’s release of sex hormones, including testosterone and estrogen, during puberty. They are typically used in individuals suffering from gender dysphoria.

In an interesting and somewhat hilarious twist, Alana McLaughlin followed up on her conditions by letting the “washed-up fascist” know that if he was so desperate to roll around with her, all he had to do was ask her out.

“If Jake wanted to get sweaty and roll around on the floor with me, he should have tried not being a racist, transphobic, fascist f*ck-knuckle and just asked me on a date,” McLaughlin quipped.

With trans rights becoming a hot-button issue in recent years and insufferable douchebags like Jake Shields being allowed to freely call for the public executions of its community members and allies, it’s unlikely that his war of words with Alana McLaughlin and trans people, in general, is over. But it is safe to say that the two will likely never step inside the cage to settle their differences.

Aljamain Sterling predicts win over Sean O'Malley UFC 288 I fold that man in half in one round

Expected to share the Octagon with surging division contender, Sean O’Malley off the back of another successful title defense at UFC 288 last night, undisputed bantamweight champion, Aljamain Sterling has issued a confident prediction for an earmarked clash this summer.

Headlining UFC 288 last night in Newark, New Jersey, Sterling became the first bantamweight champion in promotional antiquity to secure three consecutive successful title defenses, besting the returning former duel-weight champion, Henry Cejudo in a close, hard-fought split decision (48-47, 47-48, 48-47) triumph at the Prudential Center.

Meeting with Montana native, O’Malley in the Octagon following his win over Cejudo, Sterling welcomed a title fight against the Dana White’s Contender Series alum this summer, however, shot down the idea of a UFC 292 clash on August 19. in a planned Boston, Massachusetts event.

“That is news to me, man – I dont’t wanna go to Boston,” Aljamain Sterling said. “Dana (White), I’ve been trying to fight at the T-Mobile [Arena] for God know’s how long. Can we just fight in [Las] Vegas?”

“I wanna fight in Vegas where it’s nice and hot, go to a pool party,” Aljamain Sterling explained. “Boston’s cool, but, you know, I wanna go back to the West Coast. And he’s (Sean O’Malley) gonna be a [fan] favorite – he’s gonna be a favorite over there. I know there’s a big Irish crowd over there. So, whatever, it is what it is.”

Aljamain Sterling predicts one-sided victory over Sean O’Malley this summer

Providing a prediction for what could prove to be a blockbuster title offing, Sterling expects to force the issue against O’Malley inside just one round.

“My thoughts on Sean O’Malley; that motherf*cker is frail,” Aljamain Sterling told assembled media after UFC 288. “Frail. You think if I can take down a short, stocky guy like Henry (Cejudo) who’s actually a gold medalist (in the Olympics) and actually has good takedown defense – what I am going to do to Sean O’Malley, like?”

“… I guarantee you, we step in there – I think I fold that man in half in one round,” Aljamain Sterling continued. “It’s just gonna look – same thing I did to (Cory) Sandhagen. Go out there and pressure forward, he’s gonna use his footwork, I’m gonna cut off the cage like I was just talking about. Eventually, he’s gonna be on his backfoot, let him throw a stupid kick that I’m gonna catch, I’m gonna bodylock him. And I’m gonna fold him in half like a lawn chair, and that’s gonna be the fight.”
