The Thai-born athlete will be going up in weight to challenge Muay Thai king ‘The General’ Jonathan Haggerty for his crown. Haggerty has been on a knockout win streak which includes his first-round stoppage to earn gold in Muay Thai.

The 28-year-old “Kicking Machine” stands out in Muay Thai due to his quiver full of various kicks which he can launch at any range with dangerous speed and power.

On facing Haggerty at ONE 168, in the USA, with a Muay Thai title on the line, Superlek said how proud he is to represent Thailand and Muay Thai. He explained:

“I’ve always been grateful to have an opportunity to show Muay Thai to the world. It’s special to be selected to be part of this huge card. I’m honored. I’m going to the U.S. with the position as Thailand’s representative. It’s important to me to do my best – to not disappoint the Thai fans and to showcase Muay Thai skills in the U.S.

“I love the people there and the weather. I feel like they’re very passionate about martial arts and Muay Thai, too. I’ve been to the U.S. a few times for seminars. I enjoyed teaching and seeing the excitement from the American fans.”

At ONE 168, Lineker is set to face the US-born Asa Ten Pow. The 34-year-old ‘The American Ninja’ is a striker who has experience in MMA, kickboxing, and Muay Thai. Currently, in ONE he is on an impressive two-fight knockout win streak and is looking to make it a harsh welcome for Lineker into Muay Thai.

Discussing the ONE 168 matchup in Denver, USA, John Lineker said:

“Asa Ten Pow is a striking guy, a specialist in this area, and who is already used to fighting under the rules of Muay Thai. He is a very tough and technical athlete. I had the opportunity to meet him a few times backstage at ONE events, and he is a really nice guy. I am sure we will have an excellent fight.

“I always look for the knockout, and it certainly won’t be any different this time. I’m going to look for the knockout all the time, round by round, and I hope I can do it. I see myself knocking out Asa Ten Pow because that’s what I like and that’s what I do when I step into the cage.”

“Haggerty’s strength is he has been fighting in this division for a long time. He can punch very hard and violently. Superlek’s strengths are his powerful kicks and exceptional defensive abilities. I’ve never seen anyone that can knock Superlek out before.

Manhunt: Muay Thai fighter Saifon murders father, currently on the run

Saifon Rattanaphanu, known as Haseng Wahani – a prominent Muay Thai striker is reportedly on the run after he is alleged to have stabbed and killed his father last night. Saifon, is alleged to have fled the scene of the murder, and is reportedly taking refuge on the Bua Yo Mountain, with a manhunt conducted by law enforcement underway to apprehend him.

Saifon, a former champion in Muay Thai, is the subject of a manhunt by law enforcement officers, with the Muang Yala Police receiving a report of an incident at a residence at the Ban Lo Sali Yala Province, with a man stabbed to death with a knife, Haseng Wahani, otherwise known as Saifon Rattanaphanu is the current sole assailant whom police are currently attempting to apprehend.

News of the incident involving Saifon was reported on social media today, with the report detailing how the Muay Thai fighter had cut his father’s throat with a knife before fleeing the scene of the alleged incident.

“A manhunt is ongoing for Muay Thai champion Saifon Rattanapanu, who is wanted for murdering his father,” WoradonBK posted on their X account. “Saifon reportedly slashed his father’s throat at 3 AM today, before escaping to a mountain.”
